Discontinued VapeXhale Cloud EVO

Shrike

Flower Potted, Maxed, & Rio'd.
New EVO trade-in has arrived!

Took it out of the box and plugged it in (just to make sure it worked).

Dialed it to 3 o'clock and turned it on...started to blink red off and on...kept waiting for it to turn green, but it wasn't even heating up...just kept blinking. I started swearing to myself...but know the drill...:bang:

Turned it back off...waited a few seconds...turned it back on and...hurrah...it kept a steady red and turned green in a few minutes. I could feel that there was substantial heat, also. Heart back in my chest where it belongs...

Can't vape at this time, but will be putting it to work later this evening. I'll post a mini review later tonight or tomorrow morning. Can't wait to compare it to my "old", still working ticker...which, by the way...came to me almost 19 months ago to the day...cool...

My EVO unit is experiencing 100% perfect temperature spectrum via the dial.

I get tasty wispy vapor at 10:30

Milking it nice and white with zero irritation at 12

Dragon clouds at 3

My only discovered downsides are the lack of ticking ;) annd there does seen to be a tad more airflow restriction, compared to my OG ticker.

OK disagree with me, I can't force you to be right
I knew it would be too hard to keep the recycling HydraTube under wraps....

Thank you for that. I was trying to describe it to my wife and clearly its effective enough that my attempt to describe it didn't come close to the vid in her opinion. lol

As enjoyable as my "peek behind the curtain" was its kind of maddening to have seen and not be able to "touch" as it were.
Feel free to show more stuff so others can suffer too!

After a long long time of being cloud-less, I was finally greeted to the wonderful sight of a little brown package from Vapexhale. The unit itself is gorgeous. The most surprising thing to me coming from the original ticker model is the drastic reduction in weight. This thing is seriously light. It's awesome.

It does seem that my unit might be running a little colder than it should be based on what I've read from others on the forums here. When I'm using it, I can get some pretty solid clouds from ~3 to max. I am a little curious about the behavior of the temp dial - when I move the dial from 3 to the max position, the light just stays green. As long as I keep it above 3, I can move it back and forth within that range with no change in the color of the glass joint. If I move it between 12 and 3, it turns red for about a minute before turning green again.

Has anyone else experienced temperature behavior like this? Regardless, when my unit is in the upper ranges of the dial it seems to be working fantastically. I'll try to get a video or two posted soon. :)

Sorry about that @StonedMMA - we had a couple other folks with the same issue but after inserting and re-inserting the plug, they were able to get it to work. If that doesn't work, as much as I hate to say it, just send it back and we will get it running like Vitor on TRT. Most likely a connection came loose but hard to diagnose over a forum.

BTW Nice Nick Diaz avatar!

Thanks for the reply. I'm working crazy hours (12+ hr days 7 days a week). So I was mighty depressed when this happened.

I took your advice and tried a unplugged it and tried a different outlet and it seemed to heat up but I had limited time so I ran back to the office. Whew!

I am home from work late and now getting a chance to test it a bit more compared to my ticker. Damn this thing is hot in your hand, no doubt about that and it sure does love to whistle. Performance compared to my ticker is a bit underwhelming. It has been on at 3pm for over a full heat cycle where it powered off and I turned it back on at and I am still getting wispy hits. I am going to use my ticker for the night and try again tomorrow after work.

What I am not sure about is it is the heat of the unit or something more related to airflow. Like maybe the GONG connection isn't as clean as it needs to be? I am using a Mobius bubbler (I'll try a different piece tomorrow), and notice a slight improvement when I use it directly inverted on the unit vs. using a 45 adapter. Better seal?!? I am grasping for ideas on what the cause could be.

ok... i have been using a cloud+ a friend loaned me. Ebay special, but this one works very well. I would be almost happy with it, but not hot enough for oil. At 2pm it clouds awesome. Hope my new evo does than and oil. Zc's and Bob's do, but they got early ones...

Vapes on vapes on vapes!
Well to be honest at the moment I am still getting better performance in terms of clouds from my non-ticker, non-plus cloud (if there isn't a name for this model there really should be...) than I am from my EVO. Anyways I'm not discouraged by this because when I think back I'm getting much better results than when I first got my cloud. The hits are very good but just not quite as full as my other model.

I've tried different ELB load sizes, I've let it sit for well over ten minutes, and I've used it at up to 3:00 on the temp dial which is where I'm leaving it now. I'm getting comparable, but slightly less thick clouds as my other model set at noon. I feel like I'm getting more hits out of my EVO though, even considering the clouds aren't as thick. It seems to be extracting more efficiently, but I have not quantitatively compared this. I'm going to do some direct comparisons over the next few days and try different things out. This is a great product and I'm very close to loving it, I'm just not quite there yet. I hope I also find that it gets better each session.

TLDR: I can't get it to produce quite as big of clouds as my other model, but it's still amazing and I've had very limited use with the EVO vs. my other model. More testing is needed and is incoming.

Anyways thanks SM and everyone at VXL and congrats on the rebirth.

Edit: I forgot to mention I happen to love the glass. I have a straight neck EB Hydratube. I don't have much glass so this is easily the nicest piece I own (out of three...). The vapor is so smooth with a few ice cubes in there. Oh yeah and I just about fainted when I saw that a HydraFoot was included! For those who didn't get wristbands you might want to check your packing peanuts in the box. I didn't think I got them either until today when I saw they were on their own among the packaging. I hate to be the "check the box guy" but... check the box. :D

Another Edit: I'm not sure if I overlooked them in my unboxing excitement or not, but I did not see an instruction manual or a warranty card in mine. I see that these are listed as being in the box on the side of the box.

We're here to fuck shit up.
Okay, I've been tinkering and got the water level and draw speed where I need it to be for that sweet whirlpool action.

I don't think this is the exact piece that was shown earlier in the thread from Instagram, but this is definitely one of a few made by Gordo Scientific for AA at ChiTown Boro.

Another observation...noticed the EVO vapor production is much more affected by which strain I'm using than my OG ticker. Which is actually a good thing. My ticker is apparently one of the hottest running, actually got to over 600F last night. Mkaaes it really good for BHO and shatter, but over blackens ABV if I'm not careful.

I have 4 strains right now -
Jack Herer, slightly thinner vapor in the EVO, but much, much better taste and better pain control;
Blue Dream (which is kind of stale - old batch) also thinner vapor on the EVO, bigger difference than with Herer, also better taste and pain control than on the ticker;
Alien Kush - vapor almost visibly identical in both, again better taste in the EVO, and MUCH better pain control (like half the pain as the same stuff in the OG);
Another kush that was just labelled 'S. Kush', not Strawberry Kush, could be either Sweet Kush or Sour Kush- similar to results for Alien Kush - similar vapor thickness on both EVO and OG, but an order of magnitude better pain control on the EVO.

I presume the difference is the fluid dynamics. The airflow in the EVO has more in common with the airflow in the VHW, and my results with the EVO are nearly identical to VHW results, but so much easier to use and far less chance of breakage (I have, I shit you not, spent over $1000 dollars on VHW heater cover replacements since getting my first VHW - that's ten replacements in under 5 years, not counting a couple that Mac McCoy, Mr Vriptech, gave me gratis).

Great Scott!
So far so good with the evo since the weird fluke. Its acted as expected since. Testing it a lot more today, I can only vape so much at 8am right now.

It seems to be extracting well. I think there may be less visual clouds than the OG, but its not like the ABV isn't getting cooked well, so I'm not sure theres really an issue there. My pax puts out thicker vapor than the firewood for example, but both are just as effective. Just curious why it would put out less VISIBLE vapor clouds? Its a non issue to me really I just want to figure it out for fun. I get enough clouds to be good feedback etc, and it is potent and good at extracting. More clouds doesn't mean more effects, I know that, so anyway any guesses?

My only complaint isn't a complaint, its a request/suggestion. IDK how you guys all feel about this, but I'd rather the software be set up to go green 5 minutes AFTER it goes green now. Whatever formula its using to decide "go green we are ready" should be kept in place, and just start a 5 minute timer after that. Going green minutes earlier than its ready feels kind strange to me, unless its just to say " ready in 2 min" as a sales term or something, but I notice much better extraction if I wait a few min. I don't mind waiting, but it would be cool if the light said when it was ready for real. For now I just ignore the light and come back 5 min after turning it on roughly.

I am impressed with the vape quite a bit actually though it does work very well. The power cord is really a nice touch since it is non proprietary, and cheap. I have no less than 5 of those cords in my house, and the local walmart should have one for everyone else. Various sizes too so you can custom tailor your cord length.

I'm glad I got it and I'm sure I will like it more and more over the weekend.

EDIT: Anyone of you guys with an IR thermometer, can you get a rough temp range of the best temps you find for pain management specifically? I'll go out and buy an IR thermometer next paycheck if someone happens to find that info, FIRST HAND, on the cloud, rather than charts from the internet.

darkrom, for pain management try and leave the ELB loaded in the bamboo for a while with the EVO hot to raise radiation/conduction a bit and increase CBNs. I think that might work.

From what SM said, there are slight differences in the knob position and how it relates to temperature as you problably know.

I'm another pain patient, with a new IR thermometer. I'll get on this later today. I can tell you what the point on my EVO dial is best for my particular pain (nerve damage, bone spurs, and severe swelling) - average is 3 o'clock (though it varies by strain) and I'll check the actual temp reading a little later. Taking my sick dog to the vet now :(.

Thanks. No rush take care of your dog first. I can wait patiently. Dogs are THE BEST species. Humans included. Good luck to you both.

I have noticed that some wt's will allow me to blow bigger clouds than others - even when using the same measured amount of vaporizables and the same vape and temp.

Could the differences in cloud production between the Evo and the clicker cloud be due to diff wt's being used?

So, apparently, I think I've proven you can pull too slow with it.
I have to pull just fast enough to initiate 'whistle' mode to get good vapor density.

Is there anything that can be done about the whistle? can i like, bees wax the joint? that seems... no. not right at all. sprinkle kief on it?
I've noticed the whistling is really pronounced when sitting on a flat surface, but when holding it in your hands, with a good space beneath it, it barely whistles unless you pull really hard.

I hope my EVO will have a temp spectrum similar to my OG. Something about only using 2+ would be challenging to get used to.

10:30 thin blue vapor
12:00 thicker blue nearly white vapor
1:30 thick white vapor
3:00 white vapor so thick it looks like Combustion

Does anyone with an EVO received in last few days have a full spectrum like above?
