Does one miss the clouds?

From readings here and getting to "know" people a little and their preferences through their comments, it seems that there is a wide range of differences in the importance visible vapor has to one's vaping experience.

On the one hand, and forgive my generalizations but, one who is more interested in the medicinal affects would seem to tend more toward valuing efficiency and true-ness of taste while on the other hand, one who is looking for bong rip type clouds from the time-of-combustion.

I'm not sure where I fit in to that spectrum yet.

My experience in the area of vaping non-nicotine based materials is more easily measured in days at this point and so I'm still trying to figure out what I'm hoping to get out of the transition to vaping herbs.

With e-cigs, I am able to mix any combination of flavoring, diluents and nicotine to produce anything from a "stealth vape" that is invisible and odorless on exhale using almost all PG in the mix to a totally VG mix that could milk a car's windows in a matter of minutes.

Like I said though, I'm still trying to figure out what works best for me vaping materials other than e-juice.

One thing I do know, one benefit of visible vapor is that one can gauge how much one has inhaled due to feeling the density of the vapor but at the same time I've started going by the taste to know how much I've inhaled.

It helps not having my taste buds assailed with combustion products, they actually have a chance to register something besides something that tastes like ass, I mean ash. Freudian slip, that!

At the same time, since I can milk the joint with my e-Go C Twist cranked up if I want clouds, I'm finding that vaping other materials can be more on the 'medicinal' side of the Vapor Chase scale.

Where do you fit in to the Vapor Chase?

Personally I don't feel satisfied unless I can produce clouds. I'm a medical user but also enjoy the recreational side if truth be told.

You can medicate effectively without producing clouds IMO, so I would say that your question pertains more to the recreational user. Patients don't care what color the pill is that they swallow, nor should they care the amount of vapor that their medicine produces.

Jeff Spicoli probably would prefer big-hitting clouds from a vaporizer. But his priorities may be different from others who also turn to vaporizers to medicate.

Every one is different, it depends on how sick you are. Why does everyone seem to think "their" experience with medicine should be universal? I think clouds help indicate to me what kind of dose I am receiving.

I'm a recreational and medical user i would just say i use cannabis

To me i need high temps to get to my sweet spot for some low temps will do it i don't fell a lot from low temps as long as i get to where i need to be clouds do not matter

I can hold a big hit on high temps and see no clouds just wispy vapor or not hold it and see a big fat cloud

Dabbing oil on a skillet or nail will give lung busting sized clouds anytime you want that feeling of loosing a lung. My Cera EO cart, omicron with HVD head run at 7.4v, and my DVB ( with flowers) will all produce lung busting clouds of vapor. However I prefer to keep my lungs inside my body and prefer hits that don't make me convulse. A 1/100th of a gram dab lets me take multiple tasty hits in a row, maybe if I where a young man again I would attempt a 1g dab but I doubt it, lol.

I like to do all spectrums of vaporizing, interchangeably, throughout a given week.
Sometimes low-temp invisible vapor,
sometimes medium temp wisps,
sometimes high temp dense clouds.

They're usually for different purposes.

Invisible vapor definitely medicates and I prefer it for physical activity or working on something mentally.
If there's a task to be done.

Medium-temp vapor is just great all-around.
I'm aiming for that sweet spot just a notch above where you're not getting visible vapor.

High-temp vapor clouds for relaxing after a long day & sleep-aid.
Or if I have nothing to do all day ;-)

after years of bong tokes i for sure need clouds as well as the big hit feeling to feel completely medicated. my solo dry at temp 7 satisfies me for that part although i should be recieving my pvhes gong tomorrow so hitting it through my bong should be even better for big clouds!

I was missing clouds due to having combusting for nearly 2 or 3 years now. I started using vapes in 2012 but the extreme Q wasn't enough for my standards of a daily driver vape. I had a volcano and the clouds did not impress me nor did the time spent to sesh appealed to me. I had my eyes on a few portable vapes but quickly turn them down because a straight shooter would cause me to have more phlegm build up. Cera did that perfectly for me though I messed up my EO cart due to cleaning it wrong and now I don't bother to use it as much because the ceramic wafer got black really quick under 2 months usage. I'd say pick a good vaporizer that is capable of withstanding the life of your lungs as well as easy maintenance and operation. Key things to getting clouds back is the heat up time, quality medicine, and keep a grinder of choice because chances are you want a perfect grind for your hits so it would last longer.

Vaping taught me well that I don't need to see big clouds to know I'm floating. Vaping also taught me about temp/herb spectrum control vs. a combustion one-size-fits-all toke. Both allow one to decide on more or fewer hits to regulate effects.

I would like to get more efficient with small loads but I like big clouds pretty much all the time. I can appreciate the taste of trichromes, but for medication I need big doses.

Hitting the sublimator dry through the launchtube is the best so far but I know there's better because of the separation of sublimation. The sublimation is fun to do on its own, but it's kind of a pain for maintenance and it interferes with full extraction so it's a double-edged sword to be sure.

It's hard to be efficient when you like big clouds but that's the fun part of the challenge :freak:

I find the SSV gives the biggest most lung buster clouds of any vape, but technique is key, a really long slow draw of about a min, followed by an accelerated strong toke for another 30 seconds will get you the biggest cloud and hit possible, but you want a big load and a fine grind and a pretty high heat of around 200c+

No, not really. I always liked packing snaps anyways. I was never into that half-gram bong rip competition stuff. Some strains produce a LOT of vapor though. The Sour Diesel I had last week didn't produce nearly as much vapor as this Black Bubba I just got tonight.

Vaping is a way of life!
I missed the clouds at first but then got vapes that could satisfy that craving, I just took the biggest lung buster hit from a vape so far out of my E-Nano dry stem set at 8. Mind you I dont have an herbializer, cloud evo, or sublimator yet so I cant comment on those but bang for your buck this nano is blowing me away from an ex herb smoker of 16+ years that would do dumb shit like snap half gram bowls to shut up my friends:shrug::evil:
My lotus even does wonders for a flame powered vape, can perform like a handheld desktop with technique.
Iam interested in the medical value as much as well as I feel clouds are a good indication to the medication level that my personal body needs. I can take a bunch of smaller wispy hits and get medicated On the couch) but when in a hurry and time is an issue that one or two larger thicker cloud's gets me there instantly as a medical and or recreational user.

Colorado is making headlines for there first recreational collective scheduled to open up soon.

Greetings,
You probably know already I am sure that you can send in your EO core to thermovape and get it rebuilt for about $15 bucks.:nod::tup::tup:

when I got my first vape in 1999 or so, a lot of people were saying that there shouldn't be any vapor. if there was vapor the device was too hot.

so I'd toke a bunch, without seeing much vapor, and oddly enough, I didn't like it. barely any high.

years later I vaped the right way and now although I still prefer a joint high, a vape high is right up there.

I hadn't gotten the giggles since the 70s and vaping made me giggle like a newb.

Seems like I get fatter clouds when vaporizing than smoking anyways. I can milk my bong with vapor like no other and get extremely huge, dense clouds. If I did the same with smoke, I could only probably take half the amount of smoke before my throat gets irritated.

But I only do such a thing when I'm the in the mood for fun - normal medication doesn't require me to chase clouds. :)

Dabs are vapor too!
I'm new to vapor, not to herb. Did a lot of research here before buying my first vape, and there really is a lot of emphasis on big clouds. That's not a bad thing, many posters are obviously very experienced vapers, and whatever works is cool. It does setup expectations though, like you need a cloud to get good effects. My first few hits produced little to no visible vapor, but they worked great! I really dug the effects from these (probably) low temp hits. I have a low tolerance, so I don't need much in the way of visible vapor apparently. It's all all learning experience, but I don't think I would go back to smoking.

Almost there...
It all depends on my mood i would say.
I use vapes to medicate with and also use recreationally because it is just too much fun!

I have discovered that since Herbie arrived i can easily and effectively medicate with none to very light and whispy vapor.
Or i can turn Herbie to full and cash a small load in one hit with a massive lung busting hit.

I do not need to see clouds to be satisfied Herbie is working correctly and supplying me with the medicated state i require to numb pain.

On the other hand i do like the clouds, especially the dense blue ones and with Herbie i can tailor it to whatever i require!
