The Lotus Vaporizer

We initially sold the Lotus with finer screens but people said that they clogged too quickly.

I know. You can't please everyone Max. ;)

And everything has its trade offs... i prefer a finer mesh because i like to leave it with a fine grind.

What i can suggest, not for me though, is you have both types of screens available in your acessories.

I will eventually need more screens and when i do, i'll be sure to get a finer mesh, although i'll probably buy in a local store where i live. :)

Have you seen my question about a possible ceramic or glass cap? No a replacement over the wood, but another model.

I think that would make for an even more durable and tasty Lotus. :D

In addition to the question from Vorrange :

@Max Jitter , you were talking about a "third plate" a few pages ago. A plate which would be placed between the wood and the heating plate, right? Can you tell us when it will be available? And will this be available only for new Lotus or will it be possible to order it as a spare plate-kit to "upgrade" our Lotus?

Thanks

Definitely picking one of these up with a j-hook when finances improve.

Same here, I have a VG sherlock that I really like but it's a no-go outdoors. I also have a vapocane b and a hammer, they both work great but I think the j-h is the way I want to go too for off the grid.

I sure could have used it last night, the power's been off for 12 hours since I started composing this post:spliff:

I don't regret buying this little powerhouse for a second! Barely ever use my sublimator anymore, still in love with the Lotus.:horse:

the delivery man delivered. stoked to finally get my lotus. i pulling everything out and i already have butane ready that i got earlier this week. i follow the instructions precisely while filling the lighter. i left it for a few minutes to settle while i did some chores. come back to it, she lights up fine, i get one toke then go to take another and the thing just starts hissing and miss fires. shes a dud i guess tried a few things then got fed up and went to the LHS. got a nice gun shaped torch that is doing the trick for now. a little pissed i paid so much to have a dud lighter. or at least one that sucks. either way i will fiddle around with it but it feels like a piece of shit. cant be more pleased with the lotus though. one bowl through and i am amazed how quick she works. so powerful. exactly what i needed to compliment my solo. thanks for the help on the decision guys

Nice rekrab. I'm glad you're enjoying it, have you tried pressing gently on the lighter? Make sure the nozzle is open but not too open otherwise it missfires too. Too less or too much is a problem in cheaper torches.

Did you try with water too?

I see the "free" lighter being included with the kit a double edged sword. On one hand you get a lighting source able to do the job...But on the other if a 3rd party entry level torch fails to work the Lotus can unfairly take the blame. Not in every case of course rekrab seems to understand. But i think the whole purpose of the lighter was just to get you started and serve as a guide line for the flame size needed.

I have two honest lighters, another bigger honest to use with my gn0mes and a friend of mine also has a honest. Never had a problem.

I think it is what it is. I don't think they are shitty. They are worth their price IMO. These things cost 2 or 3 USD.

Compare that with a 50USD lighter and of course there is a difference in quality but you pay for it.

One other thing, the lotus is INOCENT. :D

The finer screen as an accessory is a good idea. That's going onto the To-Do list.
The ceramic cap is a good idea for improving vapor cap longevity. The issue is that ceramic transfers heat better than wood and it would need an insulating ring of silicone or some such on the outer edge to protect your fingers. There's another solution in the works to improve vapor cap longevity. It's just slow in coming. You've heard the expression 'Big deals take time'? So do little deals.

@Bvapst The third plate in the vapor cap is the improvement that happened last Spring. Some people have posted pics on this thread showing the vapor cap without the hot plate. The plate with the 'bump' on it is the third plate. The space under the bump insulates the bowl from radiation by the hot plate, mostly.

If you got a dud lighter from us we'll replace it. Use the contact page of our website to send your info.

Thanks Max!

Not disregarding your solution in the works, it is easy to bypass the heat of the ceramic with an outer ring made of wood or ptfe for example.

I'm hoping to see what you got for us though. ;)

Anyways, i have to thank you again, loving the Lotus!

thanks @Max Jitter didnt mean to bash or anything. the lotus is a piece of fine craftsmanship that you can feel right out of the bubble wrap. nice and heavy. it sucks when you get an expensive product and the one thing that makes it tick doesnt fire. shit happens. proly those damn bastards at customs tinkering around with things. no harm no fowl the lotus is clouding.as for the water adapter i am in need of a 18mm female to female to attach to my bubbler. or buy a j hook from somewhere. i feel like im back combusting, pipes were usually my go to. brings back a nice ritual.

edit=just went for a nice stealth toke in bathroom, two hits and im and im good to go to bed. thank you lotus. boom

Honest lighter are pretty tricky. I ordered a lot of them for friends, on a batch of 20 only one stopped working after a week.

I have mine since few months and it is still working, but sometime he won't light up, etc.. I did screwed back correctly and it is working again but from time to time he will suck again and that's frustrating! You definitely need to be a bit gentle with it! Sometime I found that the orientation can make it stop working too ( or this is just coincidence). Must say that mine got really heavy use with a Vaponic prior to use with Lotus. Also when there is a lot of wind, the flame won't stay straight : need to hide somewhere.

Otherwise I just got one new Honest to be saved and one Xing to try it out and having a bigger tank for gas. After the first day of using Xing I have to say they are pretty nice! The flame seems a bit finer (maybe cause it is brand new) but I haven't found this to be a fault.

The new progress on our lovely cap seems promising !

rekrab, do you have silicone tubing? That should do the trick as a homemade adapter for the WPA.

Lotus quickness is legendary, difficult to match in a portable especially considering the extraction and flavour you have.

He's like Muhamad Ali, 1-2 1-2 and then you're dancing around the ring like a butterfly. :D

One last thing and I'm checking out...

Do you guys/gals feel that the 'sleek' lighter is a worthwhile upgrade for $10 or would you just go with the standard lighter?

Thanks in advance for your input.

Bagelbanger, it is up to you really.

My honests have served me fine but users here reported some duds.

I think i'll eventually invest in a better lighter, since i use the Lotus so much i think it is worth it.

But mine haven't failed yet and i don't use 5x filtered butane, just regular kind. I'm was too lazy to order online and the store had a regular brand, it is still filtered but not high quality like Vector.

My face is melting...
I have three Honests. Two of them still work fine after a couple of months and one goes off like a roman candle when it's struck (happened after the first refill).

Personally I'm of the opinion that for their price point, they're semi-disposable. They work great....as long as they work. For the price, it's a good idea to have several of them around.

Personally, I get better results with a bigger torch so the Honests have relegated to backup duty or use when I'm too buzzed to remember where I put my primary.

4 flames would be way too powerful... Unless you have the control of turning the flame size down significantly. If you buy it please paste your results, I'm interested.
