Yeah, Shogun took that one for sure. I had him winning round 1, 4, and 5

Still pretty happy with my overall pics, 4 for 5 aint bad, lets gamble! LOL

Cain Velazquez really impressed me with the way he handled Rothwell. I think hes better than Shane Carwin IMO the heavyweight scene is actually getting kinda interesting.

Alistair Overeem has been looking like a beast overseas. I cant wait for him to come to America to challenge Fedor/Brett Rogers

Josh Neer really needs to work on his wrestling

Damn - DMX lol

Im pretty stoked for this saturday's fight card. The Mayhem Miller/jake Shields fight should be an aweseome grappling match to watch.

Mousasi and Sokodjou will be a nice workout for Mousasi. This guy is a beast...curious to see how he handles Soko's power.

Hopefully Rogers doesn't cash in on his puncher's chance but what happens if he shows a brilliant ground game and outgrapples Fedor? nah, that could never happen....

my thoughts:
fedor: meh. does what he does. i unno, i feel brett standing in the HW should take a big jump forward. fedor was ok. rogers just got caught. i just dont know about fedor. 2 fights in a row he won by KOing his opponent that he was, imo, losing the fight (closer in the rogers fight but still losing).
mousasi: guys so fucking calm, jesus christ. hes just like fedor. his standup is very arkward, hes very flat footed until he just switches it up and moves. he mixes it up very well. mousasi is damn good. damnnnnnnn good.
shields: another meh for me. im more impressed with miller submission ( if only the time didn't run out) and sub defence. shields is a great ground fighter, but standup is dreadful. hes so arkward on his feet, its good that jason has a big hole in his game, takedown defence, otherwise it would be a long night. jake dominated this fight, no doubt about it, but im still meh for some reason.
also, aoki? wtf? is he going to come over for that cross promotion thing? that be amazing.

Only time Fedor was in trouble was when Rogers was bouncing his head off the mat like a basketball. I thought fedor was going to get knocked out but he was just too calm and cool and talented went for the armbar and swept Rogers. Fedor destroyed Rogers. It was a great fight and Rogers actually impressed me even though he was a disrespectful douche.

Mousasi is awesome as well. He's a machine.

Shields/Miller fight was pretty boring. Impressed with Mayhem's sub defense. And wow at Shields standup. Terrible.

overall I thought the night was very entertaining and the Fedor fight was really exciting. Great two nights for Strikeforce.

I don't think Fedor was really in any trouble against Rogers....or Arlovski for that matter. Fedor tends to be a slow starter in general, finding tendencies and then exploiting them later. He watches their body and legs for tell signs when they are going to throw certain techniques and then counters. If it weren't for the blood, I don't think the Rogers fight would've looked as competitive as it did. If you watch Roger's GnP, he landed about 2 of those 10 strikes. With that said, Rogers still did way better than I thought but I think the reversals, and his success with the clinch game were due to his massive size advantage and athleticism versus actual skill set

Dan Hardy is a SLEEPER for sure. That performance against Swick was went a long way to gain him some credibility. He's got TNT in his hands, and I'm interested in seeing what happens when GSP and he tangle.

Dennis Kang gets the close but no cigar award. I thought Bisping broke his will sometime in the second round. I was rooting for Kang so hard that when he lost, it was hard for me to deal with. Oh well, at least I can still watch the Dan Henderson fight when I need a pick me up.

Swick VS Hardy was an awesome fight. I wouldnt say Hardy is underrated as much as he is an unknown. He most certainly does have some C4 in those hands. He caught Swick a few times and RAWKED him. The outcome on that one didnt surprise me at all...

Bisping VS Kang was pretty dull IMO...They put so much hype out about Kang and how dangerous he was & blah blah blah....yet by Round 2 he's spent and barely putting up a fight.

Couture VS. Vera....Ugh,dont even get me started on that CRAP. I understand thats what Randy "does" but jesus man that fight was B-O-R-I-N-G!!! And the outcome was total BS. Vera did so much more damage in that fight and Couture walks away with the win cuz he managed to hold Vera against the cage for 15mins...

That kick gets a 10 from me and probably most warm blooded men out there.

Anyone see my boy, Jose Aldo take apart mike brown on Monday. Reminded me of how easy Anderson toyed with Franklin. Faber will have a tough time climbing back to the top of the featherweight mountain.

I would love to see Aldo versus Miguel Torres or Bowles since also is a natural 135 lber

Anyone see Tyson Woodley in action yesterday? He is looking real good with his submissions (even though he's defeated all bums), I know its early but could we be seeing the next Royce Gracie? I know i'm nuts.

My thoughts on TUF Finale:

Matt Mitrione can hit hard, and his ground game ain't all that bad for someone as green as he is, I can see him being a decent Heavyweight

Frankie Edgar fought good, I thought this fight was rather boring IDK

Kimbo has some ground game now! Boring fight yawn, kimbo needs some muscle on his legs, very weak legs

Jon Jones got ripped off completely he dominated Hamill and the fight should have been stopped way before the elbows, this guy is a beast

Mcsweeney Yawn, comes from a good camp, will never be anything more then mediocre

Roy Nelson wow I want to see him fight some more, this guy is good! Blackbelt ground game, and some crazy Muay Thai striking wow! Hes fat and he's good, could you imagine if he were in shape and were able to move to light heavyweight, wow!

Overall a good night for UFC, besides the Tito Ortiz vs. Chuck Liddell, who wants to see those dinosaurs on TUF11? Not me! My guess is Dana is gonna give these guys once last chance to fight and the loser has to retire, at least thats how it should be!

good recap, pretty much agree with everything except I thought the Edgar/Veach fight was pretty entertaining... think they might have even gotten fight of the night...

Jon Jones.... OK, what else is there to say about this kid. I know Hamill isn't a world beater but this guy rag dolled him like there was no tomorrow. I think he's ready for a top 10 guy right now, maybe even a top 5 guy if he can tighten up his striking where it isn't just a spot fest of spinning elbows, jump turn back kicks, etc etc

Kimbo following a strategy? Houston following a strategy? Damn this fight was boring. Kimbo doesn't need to be a contender, just a draw. He should be used as an opening fight type of guy and just fight with the kill or be killed mentality. No one wants to see piss poor JJ and timid striking... not from Kimbo at least.

Darkness got a worse chin than Andrei Arlovski, just sneeze on him and he's out!

What did you think of Big Country sm55? I can see him winning a few fights in UFC, he seems like a very smart fighter. I'm guessing Houstons gonna retire, what is it 4 straight losses now, that's no good, even though I think he outfought Kimbo round 1 and 3. Yeah the Darkness is done for sure, I found it funny how he was angry in the pre fight interview about Mitrione telling everyone he doesn't like getting hit in the face, I guess the truth hurts when your chin-less, he should go into training he seems really likeable and has a very good ground game, I think the best on TUF, if that's saying anything.

As for this weekend I think Mir is gonna get hit hard KO, and BJ Penn by submission, Diego is too young still IMO. Talking about how BJ has no cardio, I think that fuels the pennster even more, and plus BJ is one of my all time faves.

It's a few days late but gotta give BJ Penn props for dealing with Diego Sanchez is dominating fashion. I was one of the few that thought Diego had a legit chance because of his Tony Robbins inspired training methods but at the end of the day, BJ showed why he has to go to 170 lbs to find bigger challenges than what is available at lightweight.

Wilson Gouvaia, that guy could be something but first he needs to get a new heart from the Wizard of Oz.

For anyone wondering about what happened with the DMX fight... well, he bailed. He wanted a fixed fight. So Coolio took his place! Though they ended up not selling enough tickets so the show was canceled. SAd times. I wanted my pros vs. joes of celebrity MMA.

i wasnt expecting such a barn burner between Lauzon and Stout. Stout really came thru and improved his overall game quite a bit.

Paul Daley looked like a beast against Hazelett but I'm not 100% sold yet. Hazelett committed the jiujitsu sin of trying to be a stand up fighter and paid the price for it. Kinda crazy that Daley might be in line for a title shot after this. Daley and Hardy are training partners and it will be interesting to see what kind of challenges they present to GSP

Dos Santos continues to impress but its hard to tell how shopworn Yvel is.

I wish round 1 of Evans/Silva was actually round 3, too bad Silva didn't have the gas to finish. At least we will get Rampage v Evans.

I agree, the (Popular) Lauzon fight made me sad for Joe as he was WAY outclassed on the feet by Stout. He ended up gassing himself just after the first it seemed. What about the SICK sub on Joes brother? A reverse triangle/kimura? Are you kidding me? That was awesome...

Daley in for a title shot? Well, I forsee Koscheck as his next prospective opponent, and if he is successful there, maybe he will get a crack as GSP. (Remember UFC has rapidly become a popularity machine as well) As far as the upcoming GSP/Hardy fight... Not exactly interested to watch Hardy get tooled for 2-3 rounds before GSP chokes him unconscious.

Dos Santos Claus, jury is still out on him (but Im 99.9% convinced that he is more than legit)

And finally Evans did pretty much what I expected, and one of the reasons he was so disliked earlier on in his career - He did what it took to win the fight. Nothing more, nothing less. Many of the Rashad bandwagon jumpers as of late seem to be clouded by the viscious KOs of Sean Salmon and Chuck Liddell, and forget how utterly BORING Rashad was to watch as a fighter when he first went mainstream. I am looking forward to watching Evans/Page. Q-Ball wont let him get away with that fight like Silva did.

In closing - Root for mah bro Mackens 'Da Menace' Semerzier on the WEC card this coming weekend. Ive followed (and commentated) most of this cats ammy, and early pro career fights. He has always been an exciting fighter, and is definitely legit. (Beating #4 in the world in your WEC debut?) Id say so :)

with a name like that, how can you not root for the guy?

Yeah, I got a little ahead of myself about Semtex v GSP, just the way the press conference was going last night sounded like that was the direction they are headed in but he wants either Kos or Fitch next. Honestly, I remember his fight with Shields and can see any high caliber wrestler totally schooling him on the ground.

Thank you on the commentary about Rashad Evans. Folks don't remember why this guy had the worst fight metrics statistics of almost any fighter out there. Dude used to bore people to death then come out of nowhere with a KO and folks got blinded into thinking this guy had some crazy striking. I'm very intrested in watching him and Page go for a few rounds.

Cole's inverted triangle was a thing of beauty, Toby Yamada must be proud!

Id like to see Semtex vs Rumble..
Rashad will beat Rampage.. Especially if he takes him down and holds him down.
Nate Diaz will beat Gray Maynard again this Monday coming up.
Nick Diaz will put the smackdown on Zaromskis and show why he is a top 10 welterweight.

Nate will beat Maynard if (IF) he can pull a sub like he did against Pelligrino, and before the clock runs out. Maynard is a tough dude, but similar to Rashad, he fights to not lose. If Maynard ends up decisioning Diaz I dont foresee a title shot for him. And IF he somehow does get the op to face BJ, then he is (how does Fergie say it - A Done Dah Dah)

Nick is a top 10 gatekeeper. I love him as a fighter, but I still always see him as being a gatekeeper cause he cant manage to keep a decent streak going. I hope he can prove me wrong cause I really do like him as a fighter.
