Davinci by Karma

The bottom (main) and "top chamber" meant for herbs says da vinci. But its pretty useless. That's why they put a screen right under where the mouthpiece is, and in the upper chamber cap.

Huh? Does anyone use "top chamber" for anything? Can't see how...

ok guys... i just had a full days use (or not use) of the davinci. i charged the thing overnight, unplugged it from charger at 11AM and had a 4 hit session there and brought it out with me. At 1PM I had my next session, this time a 6-8 hit session. Battery completely drained here down to 1 bar. About 2 hours later, I had another session during which the battery died around the 4th or 5th hit.

Also, I have an issue with the mouthpiece. After my session, I was unscrewing the mouthpiece when only the screw-on part of the mouthpiece part got stuck there and the rest of the mouthpiece came off without it. I had to to unscrew it with a plier. I put the screw-on part back on to the rest of the mouthpiece but i don't think i did it correctly because now the mouthpiece doesn't really screw on anymore. I can only turn it about half a rotation. It still works though, but I'm a bit disappointed that the mouthpiece broke only 3 days in.

The moutpiece pb is common, mine was alive 5 minutes exactly, i opened the box i catched the unit and the MP fell.

I chose to put another stronger part of silicone tube that take all the top screwed part of MP (ID tube=OD top of MP). I had to scrape the body of the unit around to have the room to implant that solid and durable MP.

Nevertheless, i changed recently this solution to clean up the inside and change the tube. In the process i broke the glue that maintained the metal whole MP from turning on his axis. Now it turns...A result that does not affects the fonction of the device though.

I posted some pictures of my unit and mods in this thread, but where...

Glad you have a first Vape to fuck combustion! Solid idiotproof device to start, able to make you fucking combustion forever man :dog:

Howdy, welcome to the Forum and all the fun. Sorry you and your DV are off to a rocky start, I hope it'll get better and you'll enjoy it as most of us do.

If I read right it sounds like the battery life is low, hopefully a few cycles will sort that out. There are 3 batteries in there, all in series, all it can do it overcharge the strong ones a little bit to get the weak one up to snuff. This is the case where long charge sessions are the best advice I think, normally you get best battery lifespan from stopping just short of fully charged, but for now you need to overcharge a bit.....

The MP sticking is a common enough thing to happen. The general cause is thermal. Either condensed vapor glues it in (doesn't take much....) or when it's hot (expanded) it gets tightened a bit more so when it cools (shrinks again) it's good and stuck. The 'fix' is the same both times, heat it up before trying to unscrew. Even if it's stuck hot, a few 'hot/cold' cycles can break it loose again....obviously late advice, but next time you know.

I think you should contact the maker, early on I recall him replacing such early failures (lots of guys use it for a handle a time or two.....).

Anyway, neat little vape for the most part, hope you're enjoying it fully soon.

How many draws do you guys get off a lightly packed lower chamber?
That depends on many things, how dry the material is, how hot you run your unit, how hard you draw. I cannot say for sure, give me a couple days to actually count.

Fresh out of the box and the DC power jack is loose in my unit. Unit only charges if pressure is applied to the jack. Anyone else have this problem?? Having worked with laptops for years I know it's only a matter of time
till the jack becomes completely non-functional.

Its defective. Call the vendor, get a new one.
I agree with Skant. I have dealt with 2 of these units, now, and the plug was never an issue, if it came factory fresh and wiggly, contact the seller and get a replacement. When it's good, it's great.

How do you know whether my draw lasts 5 seconds or 30? Wouldn't that make a big difference? It's not a good question when it comes to vaporizers because everyone is different.

When removing the mouthpiece only handle the base. The stem is only silicone tubing with a covering.

I'm a bit disappointed that the mouthpiece broke only 3 days in.
It broke because you broke it. When removing the mouthpiece only handle the base-the part that's actually screwed on. If you do that it won't break. The stem, above the base, is only silicone tubing with a covering. You can't expect to safely unscrew via that part when the base may be on tight and/or gunked up with vapor residue.

The DV is a pocket portable and designed for that kind of use. If you use it heavy duty you can expect to have issues, compared to a home AC unit, with load size, hit size, and battery life. I've owned a DV since they first hit the market. The original mouthpiece is still good, and although battery operation time has decreased, it still serves my needs just fine. But I don't use it all the time, just as an easy to use portable when I'm away from home. It's a good portable vape. It may not be ideal for your use, but other similar sized portables will have the same drawbacks, more or less.

Christmas eve my DaVinci wouldn't take a charge, and when it did, it didn't last for more than a session. That cinches it, I need to get a tabletop vaporizer as my daily driver. I just don't have the money to invest, is my biggest issue.

I really do love the DaVinci and it does what I need it to do well, when it is working right. If DaVinci redesigns their vaporizer, I think they should make the batteries something accessible in case replacement becomes necessary, and a redesign on the straw so it doesn't disintegrate would make a huge difference in my recommendations to friends.

my charger went out on my da vinci, verified with vape still chargeable on car charger so I ordered another da vinci instead of buying a charger. now I have two vapes one charger and a few extra accessories from the new vape. new unit is charging and looks super clean compared to my other one

this is a rugged vape no doubt and I've put it through some vape sessions and have dropped it a few times so far and still going. not sure what happened with the wall charger going out but the new charger will be doing double time so might end up getting a new charger anyway. does anyone know if a standard type charger will work for this unit, like radio shack chargers, thanks :peace:

Ape to Vape
Just purchased the Davinci and so far loving it. I do have a question though- Does anyone know if it is okay/recommended to put your herbs in an oil can to vape with? It would be so much more convenient if it is do-able.

That's what I thought would be nice- easy to clean. Were those your only negatives of doing it?

It took longer to full heat tha extra can, usually once i saw green, it was good to go, if i used an oil can i usually let it warm up little longer. I did use my rubber caps. Battery life suffered just because it took longer to heat. Other than that, i dont remember a single negative.. I did like having my non spillable prefilled cans.. I also suggest trying their prefilled eo cans. I saved mine for herb filling.
