A clogged ELB will restrict the airflow and bowl turbulence, so the heat and extraction will be less. I would think though that it would have to be mighty clogged to suppress vapor production when set at max. What setting on the dial have you been using before with that filthy ELB?

EDIT: Fwiw on an entirely separate note, SM posted an important update on IGG that was quickly re-posted on the EVO Anticipation thread. It applies mostly to those still awaiting their EVO, but may also to some of us who have received our units.

Yeah I did notice an improvement, likely due to the increased airflow and therefore heat transfer, but I still notice my evo is about 1 to 2 clock positions colder than when it first arrived...

Hopefully it doesn't get worse as I'm already vaping flower on max just to get dark abv lol

So I have to update that I am still really loving my EVO and it has changed the way I vape. I am more of a flavor chaser and a session kinda vaper now. A lot of it has to do with the way EVO makes you relax into the hit but its more than that. Its all the tasty, tasty, vapor I keep talking about but with full spectrum effects. Its the voodoo in the new bamboo. I honestly feel kinda guilty but between the harvest and my new EVO, I'm not getting a whole lot of videos and stuff done . . .

I did want to speak about calibration because, you know, I have been wondering if my EVO could combust. Its been doing such a great job at everything else, I thought maybe I received a cold unit. So I inched the dial up. 3pm . . . 3:15, 3:30 . . . 4pm . . . nothing but perfect super, super, dark chocolate ABV so then I turned the dial up to Turbo mode and POOOOF! Right on cue . . . it lit. So I'm glad to know it can do it and maybe this bodes well for the new concentrate ELB, although, I have been 2 capping bubble hash just fine.

Im sure the Evo wins in the power department...and extraction....
But ik logs can be pretty damn efficient at extracting the load.

Enlighten me oh Evo users

haha, i haven't finished it all yet, but i was hoping they'd get it. oh well... hopefully it stays there from now on! maybe we'll see doug really get into it.

I only watched the first 20 minutes or so but that was a pretty awful demonstration. Didn't he say he'd had it for over 3 weeks ? Looks like his first time ever using the thing lol.

Yep pretty sad hits from "that thing", but that's not unusual for this show - which has been combustion only so far I believe. Often guests don't seem to know what they're doing and/or are too busy talking or whatevs. Doug certainly puffs away getting high. It looks like Doug's managed to retire his broken Volcano.

Perhaps a future guest or Doug will figure out how to work "that thing."

I think the best hit I've seen on this show is unfortunately after they all give up on the EVO, and Matt takes an impressive bong hit (18.30). "now that's a bong rip."

Doug doesn't really understand the vaping IMO.
I'm sure he understands the concept of vaping, but I heard him on another episode saying something along the lines of

Why even have an adjustable temp, just make it go to the perfect temp every time...

I know he used a 'cano in super high me, but I haven't heard of him using any other vapes :shrug:

I haven't had a chance to check out the new ep yet, but it has to have gone better than the OG cloud on the Joe Rogan Podcast :lol:

Quick, everyone start tweeting Doug offering to show him how to rock an EVO FC style, maybe one of us can make it onto the show :lmao:

that show is good feedback on how the average stoner is going to treat this thing. From the mashing of the HT onto the gong joint to the twisting of the HT off the gong to the drop...it made my teeth itch. I didn't realize how gentle I am with my vapes until I saw that.

I agree 1000% This is why I stopped trying to share my vaporizers and convert smokers. A true connoisseur will take the time to Master the art as well as be careful with the equipment. I look at all my equipment as sacred and handle it like its highly volatile nitroglycerin.

Lol at that show. I couldn't make it past the first hit he didn't clear and left sitting on the ht stand. @stonemonkey55 and @Troi if I were to make a suggestion it would be to never send another vape to anyone without a pr person to tell them and show them how to work it. Oh and I'm great with people and love getting high and showing others hint hint ;)

Ok so that's true but only the first bowl, because I like to start hitting it as soon as it's green. The first bowl's abv is always light even on max if you hit like that though. After that first bowl I can usually get a bowl milk chocolate brown at 3 o'clock so I think my evo is doing fine.

I can't imagine how long og cloud users had to wait for warmup!

You're sure the EVO wins in extraction, but you're asking which is more efficient? If one is better at getting 'it all' extracted, then that's the winner.

Here's a point to consider. All log vapes aren't the same. If you're using a fixed temp then your hits will be limited to the vapor you can get at that temp. Another very important point is that you have to manage the vapor once you extract it. If you load up the EVO and immediately set it at a high temp, you'll get a huge hit, but you'll also waste a lot of it on exhale since you won't be able to hold it and process it. Efficiency, in large part, is up to the user. Any vape with variable temp can be efficient if used with that goal in mind. Even a small bowl, fixed temp, log vape can be very efficient and provide lots of hits. You're just limited where the higher temp vapor is concerned.

If I wasn't a FCer, and I saw that video, it'll be hard for me to buy an EVO. I'm sure if you put in that table a Volcano, will blow the EVO off immediately. Bad propaganda there VHX.
