Just ordered the Hammer the other day. Can't wait to post my review how the 2 compare.I do notice a faint wood roasted smell after a session in the regular stem but i don't seem to notice it as much with the j-hook.I actually enjoy the smell its like a roasted nut aroma.

just confirmed my order for the lotus off of the mendacino theraputics website. was going to go with ezvapes dot com because they had it for a few dollars cheaper, however i couldnt trust them and felt ordering off the official site is better. Cant wait to try this puppy out. already seen some nice j hooks at my LHS that are just calling my name.

Got a new lighter ;-)
At last! :D :p

Around here it was very interesting today. Tried some good hash for the first time and got more than few humongous hits, I couldn't believe it! Haven't been that high for quite some time! Lotus is a fucking dubbing machine!!! Red hot hot plate in 4 secs and fast-ish draw was the pattern! Also tried through my Ehle and it fogged it like the morning mist around my little village... A Sativa hybrid hash most possibly with a very strong and long lasting high but also very clear and very very social. Big smile in the face and all!!! LoL
Followed it after an half an hour with a veery strong Shiva's Skunk Indiga hybrid and am now cozy under my blanket and ready for a heavenly sleep. I hope the strong buzz lets me to anyway... Kisses all! Long live the Lotus! NF out... :)

sounds good. I think I am going to get this one for use with my bong but also on the go, while I decide what to get for more of a "on the go, in pocket , self functioning unit" type thing in the future .
Do you guys mostly use it as a pipe or at a bong addition? just curious as it seems i may be hitting this alot but in my bong more so than anything else.

Warning: Be careful with the double torch! I went a few back to back sessions last night and got the wood too hot. I noticed what appeared to be vapor coming from the cap a few times. It tasted like i charred the wood a bit.I took cover off and it does not look bad just a little darker on one side though. I went back to the single jet and no problems since..Anyway imo the double jet is too much because it spreads the high heat to far from the center plate.

Yeh it seemed to work great at first..But i just don't believe the Lotus was designed to be used with a double + flame. I'm sure you will love your new single Jetline it really is the nicest lighter i have owned. It's just to damn powerful...O well live and learn. I would have always wondered what a double jet would do.

New lighter :-) still figuring it out

If I recall correctly, I got an email or saw a post here from Lotus, and it said that for the new V3 Lotus they are using a double-flame torch for quicker hits...not to be used for longer plate contact hits. Perhaps Lotus or someone can chime in on this. Thanks!

EDIT: Ah, yes! here's one mention of the double-flame torch with good results, from Blazing OG - there may be more such posts:
"Double torch works amazing, in 2-3 seconds you get vapor , but also be careful as you need less time on the plate with a double torch. I started using a single flame honest lighter with flame really high and I also torch close till I see it turning red then pull as far as I can till I can see a faint change in color at that distance, and I get a few huge tasty hits, the double torch gets me one giant hit and material is spent much faster."

Maybe the Double torch is best suited for water pipes .Seems like you need to hit it faster with the double and you can't hover as much or the wood will burn.

Actually, I would think that a double-flame torch is better suited for quick dry hits, as water tools encourage longer draws and heat up time. That wouldn't be good for the Lotus hardware, IME.:2c::peace:

Maybe i don't have a good water tool yet so i can't compare.I have been having so much fun with J-Hook now i can actually see the vapor production. It could just be me i got carried away and i didn't change my ways enough from the single..I just started to notice some smoke for the first time and got worried.Funny thing the herbs never got burnt..Anyway just be careful is all

I think the facts that now you see vapor and your herbs aren't scorched speak well for your technique! Good advice: temper one's use of the dbl.-flame torch for quick performance hits without overheating.

Easily the bong. However, the WPA does get pretty hot after 2 or 3 bowls in pretty quick succession, that's when I change to the aluminum stem. I do see myself using the pipe version a lot more in the Summer for hikes and camping.

The pipe is very pocketable, very durable, IMO more fun to use than other vapes and more convenient since power resource (battery life or amount of butane) is hardly an issue as long as you have an extra lighter.

For fun, I decided to do some note taking about my stock/basic Honest lighter. Since you are interested in the Lotus, I thought this might help in your decision and share my results. I was a little weary of the butane duration per lighter since buying cans of butane and lighters is an additional cost for the use of the Lotus, and figured you might have concerns as well.

I measured a gram, ground and dumped it into a container, and only used that herb for the Lotus. For 1 scoop per bowl (~0.045g), I tracked how many bowls I could get until the lighter is empty. I used a 5/8" flame and vaped until the herb was dark brown.

I vaporized 22 bowls out of one filled "basic" Honest lighter. Lasted me about 2.5 days. I consider myself to have a medium tolerance; 2-3 bowls per session usually is enough. I'm on vacation, so that's why I've had many sessions in a day, but I could easily see myself extending the tank to a week when school starts again.

Now the only thing I'm wondering about is how long this can of butane will last me... Costs of butane and butane accessories are seemingly very minor if you buy and take care of quality lighters.
