The Yin and the Yang of Using Cannabis

Lost Cosmonaut
Hey everyone. I have some words of wisdom and a success story of my own regarding cannabis use that have helped me maintain a healthy relationship with cannabis while still leading a productive life. As a weed-loving programmer who works from home, you can imagine the temptation to vape all day long is incredible. In fact, for some time, this was my routine. However, in all honesty, I believe that my work suffered a bit. Syntax errors in my code, foolish typos and mistakes, and more than anything, it took me longer to finish projects. Of course, the trade off was that it was more enjoyable and interesting while I was doing it. At some point, I realized that something needed to change. Sure, I was still getting my work done at about 95% the speed and quality of my sober self, but something felt out of place. Regardless of how much I love cannabis, I knew that there was no good reason why I should let my habits have any impact on my work, and ultimately, my well-being (financially speaking). I decided to take a 5 day tolerance break for the next work week. As expected, I felt bored and empty for the first few days. However, by the time Thursday came around, I no longer felt out of the ordinary besides a strong desire to use cannabis. However, it was not the tolerance break itself that made me realize the importance of moderation. Rather, it was the end of the tolerance break. The first session back was mind-blowing to say the least. For the first time in a long career of cannabis use, I felt as if I had earned this luxury of mental relaxation and stress relief. This experience changed my relationship with cannabis drastically. I now use it as a reward and a motivator to get my work done. However, I do not rush my work, as I know that the more effort I put forth, the more proud I will be of my work looking back on it. I still vape daily, but only in the evenings after I have finished my work for the day. No more 9 AM wake and bakes before getting on skype calls with clients! It's all about moderation. Cannabis is a wonderful plant, and it's up to the user to decide what it does for you. Ladies and gentlemen, control your reward-system, don't let it control you! Im out!

great post dat_sky_guy :)

words of wisdom!

as somebody who started using cannabis daily at the age of 15 (bad quality hash mixed with lots of tobacco, combusted through bongs), i know about the struggle to find a healthy relationship to the herb ;) today (i'm 27 now) i feel i'm nearly there, but still not quite yet :D

good vibes
