I will note that I need a bigger surface for catching the herb, I would have been more aggressive if I wasn't attempting to not get it all over my desk.
EDIT:
The pieces that didn't fall through were because of a stem preventing me to push down any further.

Well Im a bit miffed, although its my own fault. I had purchased a "small" 2 piece SCS from an e-tailer. Sadly, their idea of "small" is actually SCS's idea of "micro". Basically, SCS calls their smallest shredder the "micro" where as this e-tailer labeled it as "small" (they dont carry the "micro" it seems).

Anyway, its my own fault. I saw they posted dimensions, but the e-tailer has theirs in mm whereas SCS (like a good 'merican) has theirs in inches. It didn't click, so I clicked "buy" and now I have this tiny grinder thats slightly larger than a jar of Carmex. :(

IDK WTF Im supposed to do with this thing? Shred individual bowls? I tried shredding an eighth with it for fun and to see how the grind works in my Solo. It took about 20 minutes. I cant even turn it without my fingers hitting each other... and I don't have large hands.

I guess it'll just go in my travel kit...

Seriously... why does this exist? Is there a market for child laborers grinding herb in small quantities or something?

Just want to say that i use this more than i thought I would. It seems perfect for loading e nano stems given how little herb you need for those. Color me surprised.

As a beginner's accessory, I purchased this grinder which was a great value for the price (under $6 right now!) but about 2 months ago I ran into issues with it gumming up and being a hassle to use. Prior to that I had 6 months of blissfully perfect use. Advice on preventing it from gumming up? I use rubbing alcohol and salt, but the cleanings are getting closer and closer and I'd rather find a way to prevent gumming than constantly clean it. So far all I've thought of is to lightly oil it with either olive oil or beeswax, but I've tried neither on my only grinder.

Also there's been reviews on this thread for electric coffee grinders and portable electric grinders. I've looked into both of these options, but coffee grinders require an outlet and I'm looking for something that would fit in a vape travel kit. I haven't found a portable electric grinder with decent build quality; most are made of cheap plastic.

From there I decided to look into pepper mills. I think the twist kind wouldn't work very well, correct me if I'm wrong. There's also pump n grind types and some electric ones.

I don't own any of the following for kitchen use, so if anyone out there has first-hand experience with these (or similar) devices please let me know how you think it'll hold up as a designated grinder.
  1. Pump & Grind type
  2. SlapChop
  3. iTouchless Battery Powered (not very portable)
  4. Ozeri Savore Soft Touch
  5. Ozeri Graviti Pro
I'm looking for something sturdy and effortless, battery powered or not. Preferably one handed. Small enough to fit in a travel kit for Pax or Arizer Solo. All suggestions welcome!

What size is that large or jumbo.............looks large. Also the top chamber looks narrow so you can't stuff a lot at once is that so?

Yup. It is in fact the large size, which I think comes to ~2.75 inches in diameter. It can fit a surprisingly large amount in the top chamber. Here's a better view.

I forgot to mention how nice it is to be able to unscrew the grinder in three turns. I know it's not a big deal, but I noticed it immediately. I've used some that take several.

I want that or the jumbo but four piece. I need a really good sale though cause I am not paying that kind of money no way no how.

There was actually a good sale (~60) at Vape World but Idk if it's still on. I spoke to Josh at Santa Cruz Shredder about the price and he was supposed to send a coupon code for the difference but never did. :\

Just got a 4 piece mendo mulcher. I have a sharpstone 4 piece, an SCS 2 piece, and now the Mendo. I have to say, I'm not as impressed so far in the mendo. I used some dank nug, a little on the moist side and I got tearing more than I did grinding.

Not totally disappointed yet but I look forward to drying with some drier shit. So far by far the SCS is the best.

Did you end up ordering it.........what is the expiration of the code if you know? I still want it cheaper.
I did......not in my studio now, so don't have code expiration, sorry.
Good luck with the continued quest Dreamer, I've been hunting this for awhile(still don't know why. Do any if us really need such a beast? Would this be Accessory Acquistion Syndrome, the dreaded AAS:)).
Please do keep us posted.

When you get it let me know how much you can put in on top and then how much you can grind before unloading the chamber. I know you will put pics as well. I have a huge grinder and like it a lot but would like a better one. I am known to grind many 1/4s at a time so that is why I hate the small ones in most cases. I do know I don't like two pieces anymore as I find them a pita as I can't empty as easy and no storage if I want to use a strain not already ground. I am not perfect with my eye so will still end up with a session or three of herb.

Yep please soooooooooooooooooooon @Adobewan . I think I will order the large as the jumbo might be to big to turn for me and may even hurt:shrug:. Blaze is the first place I saw the size in inches and 4 inches is huge. The large is 2.75 the same size as a grinder I already have and am happy with that size.

I have a 4 piece cosmic that I've never cleaned, it's pretty gummed up, so I guess if I'm looking to compare grinders I probably need to clean it. but anyway, is there any real difference in performance between a cosmic and a Santa Cruz? I need medium grind for my firefly and I think I was just making too many turns in my cosmic, thx

I don't have a cosmic, actually never heard of it but the scs I have med two turns and done to fluffy. Some like a fine grind, but I don't. A few more turns will give you fine. I did order a large 1 piece in med red last night. I looked at a ruler and 4" was way to big. I can barely use my finger tips to fit that far let alone grind.

Adobewan you fell off on the job:o
