Yea so I used a chopstick to force a Solo stem screen (whatever size it is that PIU gives with their Solo orders) down into the Nano stem. Results of my backbreaking 45 seconds of labor:

Shit isn't coming out unless I pull it out.

So I tried a high temp vape (8.5 or so) and ended up scorching the center while not extracting properly on the sides. What did I do wrong? Too fast or slow of a draw?

All the posts about vaping with concentrates and cotton in the nano finally made me try it out. I've grown tired of wielding a torch and oil rig so I haven't been dabbing lately, just using a pen. I've never used this method in an herb vape without bud. It was like :whoa: I started used 9-9.5 and got huge clouds and a multitude of tasty hits that you just don't get to experience when dabbing and it gives me another reason to use the Nano which I always seem to be looking for. Now I just need to get some cotton that I feel comfortable with using regularly, or better yet some hemp.

Well if you throw the nano on a cold, freshly packed gong and rip it hard it tends to do that because the airflow is directed in one spot and there's little conduction helping to vape the outermost bud unlike the latter hits where the gong/stem is toasty. I spin my nano and lightly tilt the nano back and forth it while I'm hitting it, similar to how LSV users use a WPA although it isn't quite as elegant it gets the job done. I've been doing this for a couple months and haven't broken a gong yet but I'm not saying it won't happen to someone else the first time they try.

I never set the dial that high, over 8 and my abv is black which was consistent with my other Nano as well... could just be coincidence I don't know anything else about the temperature variation between units.

I read this whilst vaping with the nano and decided to see what happens when I set my temp to 8.5. Twas using a water tool and started inhaling smoke before I knew it. God dammit I've combusted twice since I got my Nano in May and both times have been in the past two weeks. I blame this one on you @Caligula :goon: it'll help me sleep better... actually it will, I can barely keep my eyes open now. Hey thanks man

Happy holidays everyone :leaf::cheers: and be safe

Is it wrong that I'm laughing out loud at this? Maybe your unit runs hotter than mine? Did you grind? I ran mine through a few passes in the SCS before packing the herb.

Anyway thank you for the pointers. I was indeed using my PNWT when this occurred for me. Ive only used it twice and both times seemed like a fail compared to the dry path methods. Also my bud tends to fall out since I cant invert or hold the nano sideways. Very irritating.

Vaping is a way of life!
I load whole flower nuggets in both my 18 & 14mm WPA the same way? (U Stir? Really?)
I don't grind or stir with the NANO or VAPOLUTION.
My SOLO'S I grind however never stir!
The LSV has a larger bowl so grind and stir that one.

That's a great way to use the NANO!
I have a bunch of HASH + PURE GOLD + ALIEN KUSH to mix and load. (INSPIRED by @BLAZINGOG)

This 12 gram batch of CHRISTMAS SHATTER in a NANO!
MERRY CHRISTMAS!
Thanks @ataxian, you inspired me to try whole nug, and I gotta say I get even more flavor!!:o:o:nod::nod::love:
Happy Holidays to all
Yes, convection concentrate dabs are great fun. Gotta love that time of the year, fresh outdoor grown concentrates! And they have never been so much fun as with the Nano.

I use the screen bowls for more airflow, BLAZINgOG, and hold the screens in place by small silicon rings that I cut out of a silicon tube that fits inside the bowl.
Thats a veri interesting idea abut the silicone and the screens, check out that video I posted a page back or so, seems caligula had success wit hit.
Thank you
gotta love the convection dabs lol
Enjoy, I bet those are some tasty treats:bowdown:

got my nano today!!!. All I can say is WOW!! :D
Sweet
Enjoy and happy holidays

the high heat seems to work well with concentrates but I can use up to 9 but I have to load a small amount which in tern is further away from the heat source and I have never combusted ,but if you use high heat and load to fat of a bowl the material now is higher in the bowl and is now closer to the heat source which can rise the chances of combustion.
SUCKS on the combustion part, I hope you sleep well
Happy Holidays

@BLAZING OG That was actually @llamaman001 Who pointed me to the UD screens...also simply pushing the larger flat screen into the stem with the fat end of a chopstick negated the need to shape the screen ona nail. Lazy FTW.

Also any pointers on using the PNWT?

Scrape out enough of that to roll into a little ball and enjoy the 50 monster rips you'll get off it if you've never tried.

Yep, that's why I let the stem get so dirty. Love vaping the Nanoseconds after a couple months or so

My stem was about that dark when I broke it. Made me very sad. I put my screen in before it's ever dirty. And that's where it stays until it gets cleaned back to new.

I assumed the screen would eventually get clogged with little bits of herb. I don't have to change my screen often, but I definitely swap it more often than I clean my stem (every couple months). I've got a bunch of extra stems, so I might set one up with your method to try it out.

Just give a go as normal, But I do stick a nug instead of grind since the bowl will now be upside-down. Oh and dont burn your self the bowl gets hot. I use a silicone glove.
A corser grind seemed to hold the herb in place better while fresh, then when you or if you stir tilt the unit sideways to insert ala solo to not spill contents.
I had a few cougher's:rofl: with the nano and PNWT, try not to choke in pnwt and force water out lol
One of my buddies did this but luckily had just pulled the nano off and was carbing the piece and choked in it:o:o:shrug::lmao:
I feel like my gridded up perc can milk nicely but the hits are so clean, the PNWT is a better diffusion maybe for vaping and I feel it a bit stronger.
Maybe some one else with pnwt can add to this, this is all I can think of at the moment.

I find that by keeping my screen on the opposite side of the glass it takes on less particulate. If it ever does clog I crank the nano up to 10 let it heat soak the stem for a few seconds and take a couple high temp rips. Seems to clear it right up.

Here is my newly purchased Enano milking up my good old SG stemline! Can't actually see the nano in this vid, but that's what's driving it.

The Enano for me is the first vaporizer I've had that gives me an experience that rivals combustion. I've always found my past vapes to be finicky, not straightforward and time consuming and could never really get an experience that matched the elegant chillness of stepping outside, combusting and then being all set. I love my new toy and the lack of fiddling/having to fuck around and figure out a ritual to get optimal results is soooo nice. I just set it around 7-8 hook it up to one of my many water tools and in 1-2 hits and a couple of minutes I'm all set. No waiting for it to regain lost heat or worrying that I haven't got a full enough extraction. Looks like I finally found a vape that can keep up with me.

Enjoy the new toy!!!!

Now because of the holidays I haven't gotten much play time with my new nano so I figure id save time and ask here...

I've tried using whole nugs a few times but it never works well. I've had great success with ground herb... but im not sure how you guys are getting huge clouds with whole flower.

What kind of draw do you use? Would it be different for ground flowers? As for temp... how high is high?

I start off slow and increase draw speed according to visual feedback of the vapor becoming thicker, If you hit it to hard then you will see the vapor thinning out , id say about medium draw speed.
The e-nano doesnt slow down its the vapor getting pulled out of the small material is why it thins out.
I would like to see a deeper bowl to load a bit more and still keep the material at a certain distance for high heat extraction with out any combustion. The more material the fatter the hits but if its to fat and to close to the heat it can scorch the herb a bit but still never combusted yet.

This is my experience too. Have you tried loading more then not pushing the stem down onto the heating element as far? Should be able to pack more and keep it far enough away?
