Where on the unit are you taking your IR reading? And on which version Cloud?

Directly down the bamboo, at a 185 degree angle which places the beam directly on the first ring in the glass. I'm aware these readings are not going to be totally accurate, but I know what the temperature readings were like on the Cloud before it broke so I am able to use that knowledge to get it relatively back to the same spot as before. This is on an OG ticker.

Question - stonemonkey, why can't you add accessories to the pre-order? It would be awfully silly to pay $25 (or $70 intl) for shipping, then pay for shipping again if I want an extra hydratube or some ELBs.

Some things to report:

1) Mobius Clear Matrix paired with the Evo is fantastic (dial set to death  )

EpULjVK.gif

2) Every iteration of the idea I raised in this thread is painfully inefficient: http://fuckcombustion.com/threads/has-anyone-tried-to-replace-a-vapexhale-elb.11865/

The verdamper method seemed to be the least cumbersome to pack(load) but in both ideas, I failed to consider the need for a TOP screen. This 2nd screen to prevent flowers from being sucked up into the air path. After solving that with an ELB:lol:, the results were still lackluster.

Overall amount of connection involved made it very very precarious. Something bad would surely happen resulting in broken glass.

The carbon filter was not even worth trying to fill, so I didnt bother going any further on that route.

Awesome .gif mate! Saving that!

My EVO and Swagger HT is my first experience with glass. Can a person put a hydro tube in the fridge (not freezer) and cool it down before placement on the EVO or will cold glass contact with hot source break it?

On another note and as mentioned in the Cloud thread, I find trimmed-to-size styrofoam pool noodles sliced up the length works well in just storing a glass tube.

*Notable...
Because I'm getting better yield (more hits) I require longer sessions. As a formality I reset EVO for double sessions because one isn't long enough. EVO retains herb potency "inter-session" longer than any other desktop vape Ive tried including the Cloud. If you're into potency + efficiency, that's notable.

If you keep the ELBs clean, they are very easy to pack ;)

If I buy a EVO tomorrow will it come with all those rubbery wristbands? lol

Last question, Just out of curiosity, i wonder if the "combustion problem" is more about how people have been using it vs. a problem with the design or something? I still plan on getting one even if people still say they're getting the ol' combustions once in a whil.

Sounds like its a problem with cracks in the air path tho?

elmomuzz: why is your LED blue? I want BLUE! All EVOs I've seen yet had a green-cyan light on temp. I definitely like blue more. Is that custom, or modded, or...?
I remeber I also saw a purplish-blue LED once in a stonemonkey video, but that was imo different and it was a frankencloud (original enclosure).

Man sometimes i feel like i'm the only person trying to get mfg's to stop putting blue LEDs in their vapes.....

If i'm wearing blue blocking glasses, i can't see the blue lights. If they're off, they're painful to retinas and not good for your eyes in the dark to be looking at bright blue lights :(

Not only my first attempt to video it, but my first attempt at attempting it. Girl Scout Cookies in the EVO and Mr. Nice Guy shatter on the dabber. Powerful stuff.

I was just enjoying a lazy morning with the EVO. I've been experimenting with kief from my 4 piece grinder. I just got the grinder recently, so kief is a new thing for me.

I can't believe how well the EVO handles it. I put approx 1/8"-3/16" in an ELB with the dial on about 2 o'clock. It gets the whitest vapor, and then the vapor production tapers off. I end the hit when the vapor drops off a bit, then stir & repeat. I didn't know how the EVO would handle dust, but I have not combusted yet. I am so incredibly high right now.

In my state of mind I thought of something. I wonder if the shut off feature could be tied to a motion sensor and a timer in future models. It shuts off after a certain amount of time if it has not been moved (like the Pax does now). The timer resets with motion. That way the safety is still there for those that forget it and leave it on, but those that use it throughout the hour don't have to worry about toggling the on/off switch, they just have to keep hitting it :science:

agree! - either a prox sensor or an acceleromator would do the trick... a combo would be the tits... and the ability to set the unit to power up with motion detected would also be amazing - sit down at your station, unit begins to heat because you're there, prepping...

Post edited to avoid double posts back to back...

Wanted to share my station and the funnel that I found at a container store (The?) for $0.89. I grind on to a folded paper and then can either pour or scoop into this funnel which fits so perfectly it blew my mind. Note, the ELB pictured was a little fuller than I have now learned to go to:

OK disagree with me, I can't force you to be right
I use what are often called "Doob Tubes". There are many varieties. Here's one:
http://www.amazon.com/Doob-Tubes-Ai...UTF8&qid=1388082763&sr=8-2&keywords=doob+tube
If you are near a dispensary they also sell blunts in nice little containers that can be used the same way.

After grinding you can use the tube to scoop up you material and fill the tube with as much as you want. I have several different "vintages" already in tubes. I open one up and with a slight rolling motion the herb flows quite nicely into the ELB (or back out if you overfill).
