Alright so soon I will be joining the ssv fam again
I want to utilize the aromatherapy dish and I was told the essential oils, such as the ones on the ssv website , are concentrated and need to be mixed with a base oil. Is this true ?

i dunno i got some free wax melts with mine recently, i just chucked them in and they melt and do their thing. TBH i wouldnt buy oils off them just go to an aromatherapy shop or a market day or something like that and buy some from a company that specilizes in it. Seems to work no different to a normal tea light candle oil diffuser, often its beneficial to put a bit of water in those then have the oil sit on top. Least thats what my mum reckons, i think it stops residue build up.

i assume your not talking about the dabber oil thing...

The water in the diffuser affects the smell of the oils somewhat...
any residue is easily cleaned with Iso and a qtip
(stubborn residue from thick oils scrape up with the tip of stir tool.. clean before re-use to stir meds)
Water used in the diffuser (aromatop) will allow a subtle scent to flow in the area, however it does not allow the oil molecules to explosively and enthusiastically spread through the room as an "oil vapor/mist"

My SSV unfortunately stopped working. I didn't panic because of the spare Vapor Brothers I had (which I may add is a year older).

I understand they have a 'high email volume' and have just relocated. But I emailed on the 28th of Nov, received a reply on the 29th. Since then I've sent 2 emails and made 2 phone calls with no reply.

This is not how to treat customers IMHO.

I could just mail the unit in, but with no confirmation that it'll be fixed? Or the cost to mail it back?

I recently acquired an SSV with the spherical ground glass and was wondering do I need to get the newer aromatop? Or will the older style (cheaper) one work, just not as well.

Also whilst i'm making my first post I like to say a big thank you to everyone who has contributed to FC, within 5 mins of getting the surfer I had it pretty much all worked thanks to all the tips and advice both here and on the site in general.

Cheers.

The newer aromatop gives a better clearance.
I use the old aromatop, and although snug, it fits with the spherical HC on mine.

Hey guys I'm gonna bite the bullet on a ssv(stargazer wave rider),I says it comes with a spherical ground glass heater cover.

I'm looking to get a standard glass heater cover and wand....While adding the standard glass heater cover to my cart it asks Perferated stand or solid stainless-steel stand.

What does that mean?which do I choose?

Thanks for that Vitolo I think I could make do with the older one.

With the heater covers there is two different types of stand. The older Shim style and the newer tension clip one.
Since yours is brand new it would you the newer type, so perforated.

You won't be disappointed with your SSV purchase for sure. If you're into concentrates did you see the flavor oil kit? It's a great addition :brow:

Well I have a persei for oils, but I have nothing for budder, wax or shatter besides a titanium nail for my bong.
I believe the model I purchased comes with the flavor oil kit, they gave me a free wax scent with my order to try with it.
I bought a SSV wave rider ,out of the cosmic collection Its a numbered vape out of 80 (stargazer model)

Edit,my bad. It comes with a glass oil diffuser -edit-
I'll need to look into one after some experimenting with green and this machine

I completely forgot how big the ssv wand bowl is. I've been mainly using the solo so the switch was astounding.does anyone have a modification to the bowl size they could share ? I really couldn't use it otherwise I don't require that much medicating with so much material. I've practiced with smaller amounts and it seems to work well with the heat turned up accordingly.

That is the best "mod" is to draw slower and stir accordingly (combined with heat adjustment)
This keeps the original systems air flow design intact (domed screen, poised immediately AT the point of the reduced hour glass opening of the wand.
Many use Vapir NO2 screens as the top hat shape is a good "cup".. and the NO2 screen is the among most flexible out there.
I tried it, but still prefer adjusting my style to suit the load in the original wand.
I admit to keeping a Vapor Brothers "mini wand" on hand for conservation!
FC member cluffy turned me on to it's use.

Along with what Vitolo suggests, you could try my SSV EQ Elbow pack.

Since switching to this mod, I will never go back to one screen again. My wand and hose are so much cleaner now, no more ABV dust making its way through the side of my screen and no more green material wedged into the side. Keeping the screen as close to the heater allows for consistent low heat settings and draw speed, even with differing size loads. Also the screen is adjustable as your material loses mass, so it can be kept at optimal distance.

In this video I used about .05 g's and my dial is @ 12:00 with off at 6:00.

Totally missed the link .. I'm not sure if I should do it I only have 3 caps myself. The taste isn't sacrificed at all is it ?

No, no taste difference. Maybe even better tasting, as you can use lower temps. If you like, once you have some resin stuck to the sides of your wand, you can go with just the one EQ screen. The second is just so you don't shove the first one in too far, and I like to keep it there as it collects resin.

Look how clean the wand is after the second screen.

Do you have any larger round screens? Like bigger than stock SSV, say 3/4". I can show you how to crimp one to make it a domed screen, works but not as well as the EQ screen.

I tried the elb cap in there and it didn't work so well. I do have larger screens such as ones for the lsv heater cover I'm not sure what size.

Standard SSV tubing.
They sell it HERE
3/8" ID x 1/2" OD x 1/16" Wall
It is not advisable to use vinyl or any tube bought at local hardware store or pet shop.
Tygon is safe... but is not as flexible as the special tube 7TH floor uses.
When the SSV hose was invented , they had to commit to buy enough tube to go around the planet earth 9 times, to have this special formula made.
http://www.usplastic.com/catalog/item.aspx?sku=57243&catid=1003 is safe.. but is stiff and hard to use.
I have experimented with all tube and the original can not be beat.
Once in a while itis on sale at other reputable Vape sellers... like Puffitup, Vapeworld and others.
