i am a huge hip hop fan, but lil wayne is trash. his freestyling is above shitty. i don't have any interest in this dudes music, i've listened to it and it is terrible.
Eh, I'm not his biggest fan either, but why not recommend something you do like instead of just bashing.

P.S. How about a link back to FC on your blog?

Dr. dope, everyone is entitled to their opinion and I don?t think he is the best freestyler out there but I also tend to think that when someone is mainstream, a true hip hop head has a hard time reviewing the music with the influence of the outside world. I mean, I still read shit like ?Kanye West is not creative? that shit boggles my mind. (Dr.Dope, I?m not implying this is you at all, just personal observation when I was deeper into the hip hop culture) If you?ve been a historian of hip hop and you listen to Kanye?s sound, the dude is doing some ground breaking shit but it?s like since he?s all over MTV, the underground heads can?t accept that fact.

One thing I didn?t like about hip hop was this elitest attitude that if you weren?t underground, you weren?t shit. I mean there are still some guys out there that don?t think that Eminem is an elite MC cause he was MTVs poster boy.

Dr. Dope, cool blog by the way, thumbs up from me fo sho!

I was coincidentally just turned on to this guy today...he's a Canadian (Kenyan born) rapper who goes by the name Shad or Shad K.

Shad - Brother (Watching) http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=oDQ49tLg5w0
Shad - I Don't Really Like To http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=i9e98UE5dhY

I haven't had a lot of time to check him out, but I'm really impressed so far. Based out of London, Ontario...has that "Old School" feel I love and he's a really smart, smooth MC.

I appreciate creativity and unique sounds, and of course theres wayne lines that are good and songs that are catchy, but what lil wayne puts out imo does not deserve the fan base he has gathered. and the fact that people want to be where he is, makes him an influence.people use to be influenced by mc's like biggie and rakim.

Rappers I listen to
Cage
Copywrite
Yak Ballz
Donnie Darko
biggie
Rakim
Wu-tang
Benefit
Ill Bill
Sage Francis
Brother Ali
Atmosphere
The Sand people

Anyone like Blackalicious or Lyrics Born? Two guys I think peeps on this forum would enjoy. One of my fave songs, "Chemical Chalesthenics"

Nice list btw, loooks like we got similar tastes. I would add Outkast and Tribe to that as well, ah the mid 90's, loved hip hop from that era

big boi is def the phife dog of the group, andre 3k is one of my fave mcs, i like it when he raps, not as big a fan when he sings. I think he always chooses creative words and his delivery got that southern feel to it. When I listen to the first album I'm so impressed when I think about the fact that they were 17 when that album came out. I kinda miss andre benjamin before he became andre 3k
