OOOps!!!:uhoh:  Oh well still working and hopefully secure knock on wood :bang: Leave well enough alone????? Dammit I hate it when the Wifes right :dog:
LoL... I dont think you have much to worry about. I've read plenty of others removing this piece with no negative impact to performance or the sturdiness of the unit.

And I know the feeling = my wife's usually "right" too!

I honestly dont find it a big deal but some people reported it melting so I took mine apart to see and just decided to leave it out as DDave said it has its purpose which I suspected (and my wife insisted) so its up to you.

Hi gadabout, I find the q both flexable and fun! Just by changing a few glass pieces, the unit can be made into a real extracting-performer, or a slow-sipping tasty-session machine. Best thing about it is the mods are relatively inexpensive... (I paid $8 for the "DDave" F/F adapter and $20 for my SSV Wand going for Performance).

Reading through this entire thread is a good investment, as there is a ton of useful information here.

Have fun with your q!

I miss my EQ. If I were to get another tabletop vape, it would be an EQ with upgraded whip. I loved bags, every hit taste great, not just the first.

A tip for anyone filling bags: I would use the bounciness of the rubber feet and tap the side of the EQ w 2 fingers intermitently, drumroll style. This would allow the airflow to tumble the herb for thorough. extraction. Has anyone every filled bags with an elbow pack? I never tried it, didnt think the fan would be powerfull enough to push through the mass.

I've had that tab removed for several days now and so far the unit is working great! I have also noticed the heaviness and irritation in my lungs are much improved since I removed it and I haven't stopped vaping or cut back so I'm still skeptical that it could of been dryness like others have suggested...

I honestly felt the same way about the irritation and I noticed that it was very noticeable after I broke my water piece and went back to the dry setup (still all glass). I removed the piece (mine wasnt melted) and it seemed that the irritation was relieved and I honestly just attributed it to it being a mind thing but yes it really did seem a little less irritating. As I stated prior my Mica piece had some sort or fine dust that rubs off on your hand when handling it this may have been the source of my irritation or maybe I just had a touch of cold

I've read most of this thread but can't find the post about the parts that should to be removed.

I've read about one part that was melted, one part that just separated some wires, now this tab thing.

I checked all the links to the mods and I still couldn't find anything. Clearly I'm missing some posts.

What all should be removed to be on the safe side?

They are all one in the same and its just a bunch of us out there who just cant leave well enough alone this is just one of many appliances in my house that have felt the wrath of my screwdriver when I medicated to a creative level and thought I could improve upon someone elses patented design. My wife walked in ready to Vape and said "What the hell are you doing to the Eq?"(as it lay in pieces) I told her in a very smug voice "I'm fixing it" she let me know that she didnt know it was broken I assured her it was under control after all I took 3 yrs shop in High school

The one I removed had a coating on it that would rub off as well. It looked sort of like metal flakes, it was shiny...

I'm picking up my eq tomorrow. I have the 18/18F adapter.

Do you leave the EQ on 24/7?

Any tips and tricks you guys would share for using bags on this unit?

How do I produce the most vapor from the least amount of herb?

It looks pretty straight forward here. Elbow pack, 400, fan on 1 and he's using the cyclone bowl.

How many bags can I fill with one elbow pack at the same temperature?

How high of a temperature can I use for the bags?

I don't leave mine on 24/7. only when I'm using it. although, I warm it up first by placing empty bowl/attachments on the unit with the fan on 1 or 2 for a couple minutes. it gives the best first couple fills. also with the bags, I've noticed sometimes they leak a little bit where the bag attaches to the mouth piece. so I made it a Habbit after every few fills to push it down to make sure its tight. You will need to play around with it a bit when you get it. there are many many different ways to use this machine as pointed out by others in this thread.

I cut my EQ on at 8:30 am and it stays on until about 10:30pm most nights I medicate often and I need it immediately I cant wait ten or fifteen minutes for optimal temps. I dont know if this is hazardous but for the price if I get a year out of mine I'm cool but I have no doubt it'll last much longer. It will soon be a decoration for my shelving in my den and used to entertain company. It has earned the respect to receive a rest I'm getting it some help to try to satisfy my insatiable cravings.

Thanks, that's good to know.

Got my eq today and took it for a first flight a little while ago. This vape will put a lot of medicine in you in a very short amount of time.

Gee.
I saw your other thread about Vaping at high temps so I went to dig up DDaves method for you glad you already saw it! Just remember two things when it's on at high temps whatever's in the bowl is cooking as time goes on. And for me personally My total consumption goes up with higher temps.

Glad to see you reading through the thread brother I hope you enjoy your eq like I have been since I bought it and especially since DDaves method was applied.

Personally I know. This might be unpopular, but I have the feeling sometimes people worry a little bit too much about smaller things tabs, wires, etc but that's what makes our community so special...that kind of attention to detail!

I took the bottom off of mine and didn't find anything that looked like anything that wasn't needed. Maybe I wasn't look in the right place?

Dogdad that is my point exactly!

It's a very solid vape adding that 18F/18F adapter is only the modification I've done to mine and personally for me I feel everything else is fine with the unit.

Here is a quick tip. Try figuring out a way to attach the bag to the water pipe. Makes those higher temps less irritating.

Here is another quick tip that helps my consumption drop dramatically. I am vapor bonging out of my eq with a 14m on the end of the whip. I'll take a hit then exhale it into the bag. Once the bag is full I'll inhale the vapor in the bag through the bong. Two rounds of that and I'm done. Usually takes about ten minutes and half a bowl isn't even used.
