I remain surprised and impressed by the improved extraction capabilities of EVO. Averaging extra 2 hits per ELB, that's a 40-50% yield bump. Mates very nicely with Moby Ion as you might expect.

Maintenance is now easier because EVO's bamboo is open ended causing less vapor to solidify on the GonG's rim.

Man, I new it would be a matter of time before we see a HT Recycler, friggn' awesome!
Anyway, here is a vid of the full spectrum of the Evo's abilities. Multiple types of concentrates and herbs were used, and was shot straight except a 30 second edit to allow the evo to cool out of turbo mode. Sorry Pappy, that first one felt so good that my hands got a little happy, no disrspect.
I am going to shoot 1 more that's running only elb's, but it's been tough to muster up the tolerance to do it again. If you noticed, I got cold feet during the second rip and pulled out. Also, it will have more uplifting tunes...

We typically test for min/mid/max levels but we have noticed a few units where for whatever reason, the temp range isn't linear through the entire dial and gets compressed like @Fame Is A Vapor unit. I'm at our engineer's place today to figure out what is causing these strange inconsistencies in the middle of the dial. Could be just a few numbers that need to be tweaked in the algorithm but it is a bit perplexing as it appears to be only affect a small population of units. Will report back after a kale shake or two.

Any update on this?

If I understand you correctly, you turned the unit on and initialized the unit at a (presumably) lower setting, waited a minute, then turned it to max. My suggestion was to set it to max first and then turn it on, i.e., the unit initializes set at max. When you subsequently turned the unit off and then back on, you did so set at max so it initialized at that level and worked; this was what I was suggesting.

If this is correct, your unit has the same quirk that mine does. Requires a firmware tweak. As I suggested before, send SM a PM describing the problem and mention that it appears that the behavior is the same as my unit (SM and I have discussed this already and there is a game plan for it).

Specifically, what is bolded, but can we discuss this a bit further? I am interested in this initialization.

I read this and other threads each day, keeping up, learning as much as I can. I have seen in here that some of us (I have started doing it) turn the temp up, power on, go green, turn down to desired level, go green and enjoy the ride. I have seen great performance with this method. I seem to recall SM noting that this was the proper procedure - but I do not recall if that was for the quickest path to the heat mass being fully ready and up to temp or if it is simply the proper way to go...

I also see folks in here say that they think this business of turning it up and and then down after green is not necessary... That may be a YMMV situation, as we know there are minor variations to how each of the units work, the environments they are in, and a host of variables that would take a long time to list - but the question remains... Is there a PROPER method to power up and get you ready for milk? Does this come down to preference or willingness to wait, or is there some actual initialization that is happening at power on - or is there some initialization that happens at power on only when the dial is at max?

Is this a scenario where calibration or initialization happening at power on will have an effect on temperatures reached throughout the dial? For example, if we set the dial to noon at power on, will the unit not ever get as hot as if we set the dial to max at power on? Or am I missing the boat on this explanation?

And as a weird observation - my EVO ticks a little. It is just expansion as it heats, but it does have a regular tick whenever it comes up from cold...

What I suggested was a workaround for a unit that was not heating up if turned on at a lower setting than 3 (turbo mode).

As it turns out, turning the unit on at ~3 and then dialing down when it hits green and then hitting when it turns green again, is also the usual method for heating up the unit for a number of us, SM included. It results in building thermal mass a bit faster.

That said, it's also been suggested that it might not be good to encourage this method because it may cause less experienced users to combust. This is a fair point. It's not as if the unit takes a long time to fully heat up if turned on set at the desired temp, probably just an extra few minutes.

So the short answer to your question is, either way is OK. Just if you use the former method, you do need to know your EVO or you could get an unwelcome surprise. My suggestion is to use the latter method until one is familiar and comfortable with his/her EVO, then if desired the former method can be tried.

That 'ass pennies' dialogue was hilarious, the way it just went on and on.. LOL I don't know where that's from..

That thing is a beaut. :mmmm:

Ok so just now I was high as fuck after some ELB's :-) and I was sitting there looking at all my little attachments and was wondering what I could come up with. So I figured I could
Make a attachment so I didn't need an ELB. I seen a female female piece from the extreme q I had left over but I thought it would be too far away. I throws it anyways :-)

It also works with little pieces of hash. ;-) and I'm sure dabs would work.

Mark, you do sound high as fuck in that video.

I've got this Extreme Q dealie.... with some herbies in it

I think that is why I like your videos so much. I get to sounding really stoned in my videos, too. For obvious reasons, of course. :brow:

I think it adds to the credibility of the vid!

It's from "Upright Citizens Brigade", old comedy central show. They had some super funny, but twisted stuff. I think my buddy mixed it nearly 10 years ago, and just been hanging around some cavern in the hard drive ever since...
@VapeNStone I like your idea :)
