Doctor Who fans build life-size, flying Tardis to celebrate show’s 50th anniversary



Ramblers may have received a surprise this week when a life-size replica of the Tardis from hit TV show Doctor Who took to the skies.
Three fans built their own iconic blue police box to celebrate the show’s 50th anniversary. Ben Whiting, 32, Rupert Brandon-King, 31, and Ben Bailey, 25, worked together on the project ahead of its maiden flight over the countryside in Hatherleigh, Devon, this week.
The flight lasted just a few minutes, however, when a battery shortage sent the Tardis crashing towards the ground. And it could be the last time a flying Tardis is spotted in Devon, after the time machine was damaged beyond repair.
The trio work together at Flyonix, a company specialising in remote aerial cinematography for film and TV.

One of the music festivals I went to in the summer were using surveillance drones. I'm not sure whether they were police or security operated - either way, I really, really disliked the big brother atmosphere they created! And don't get me started on drone attacks!!..........:(
