If you could elaborate on whats wrong with it? I could maybe offer tips.
I find it weak?

My BLACK LEAF bubbler is night and day better? (Flavor and Clouds)

I'm a flavor chaser however I do like clouds too!

The PNWT I will try again today and see if I can get it to work?

If you know how it works for you please share your method?

Initially I thought the best way to use the pnwt would be on top of the Solo, and it does work well. But I find it a bit awkward held mostly straight up. Same with the HI: good results but awkward. My favorite so far are with the Cloud and especially the ssv, with a shortened whip and 14mm adapter, holding it like a microphone, Frank Sinatra style.

It works!

However I think getting a good bubbler is the ticket when your just starting to collect glass.

When you have your glass and adapters then add more gizmos.

The PNWT does work - just not the "HOLY GRAIL" level all the hype was generating!

$40 - $300 / Function - Glass Quality

Large Volume Water Pipes are better with plug-in vaporizers - I don't have luck with these!
Ash Collectors paired with a SHERLOCK work well too!

Back to some 'standard advice for new guys' I think. If you want to 'get your feet wet' in the WT arena without putting out lots of bucks, consider "the Infamous Bubbler":
http://www.pipesdaddy.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=VP-0022

$40 and you're in the game without bending your neck. Does a fine job at the levels we run. Lots of us have them.

You can even cheat a bit on not buying a PVHES GonG adapter right off, use your straight Solo stem with a rubber band wrapped around the end to make a seal. Invert the Solo, stick the stem in the center hole and enjoy (be sure you put the water in of course....).

Don't let someone else's concerns about which way you face using it chase you off, there are obviously LOTS of us that don't find that a deal breaker. The Infamous Bubbler doesn't have this (IMO unimportant) feature.

Being the owner of both PNWT and the F-Bomb, I had wrote a comparison review in the PNWT vs F-Bomb thread when I first got the PNWT. I have been using both for a while now and as I had stated in my review the PNWT wins on almost all fronts but two which seems to be the complaints in the last couple pages.
Functional cooling and holding strait up.
The F-BOMB cools better because the bubbles are smaller and travel further up the tube.
Also, the F-Bomb can be held at a considerable angle without any water leaking down into the load or air by-passing the water. Where the PNWT will by-pass the water if not filled quite high. And then tilting becomes a problem. If go too far it will leak into the load.
The PNWT wins on durability, ease of cleaning and less restrictive draw.
However, IMO, the F-Bomb's restricted draw is part of what makes it cool better. Restriction means better air flow regulation and smaller bubbles. As with the Solo in general, you get use to it.
I also use the freezer tube for a session when it is cold from the fridge too. Quite nice. Then switch back to the water tube while it's chillin. :brow:

i have this incredibowl bubbler already http://theincredibowl.com/products/m420-bubbler/#tab-description, could i just buy a PVHES GonG for this and user the solo on it? (or temporarily the rubberband seal)

might still look into the PNWT cuz i dont think itll be too bad
Buy a 18mm or 14mm GonG depending on your female coupler size?

Get a stock one to begin then add others later!
However please don't listen to me as I'm a bit VAPED!

Dreamerr

Always in a state of confusion and silliness♀
I guess we won't know about the newer revisions and battery life for about a year. I would hope we will find out comparisons on level........like if you used level three on old ones what do you use on new ones, how is the air flow in comparison, and other questions should have answers quicker....we even need to know about if you are getting the same amount of sessions off plug while out?????????????

For those looking to get their feet wet (and their vapor) in the world of glass without breaking the bank, the pipesdaddy infamous is great and comes to $50 shipped like @OF suggested before. However, if you don't need to have it in the next week and can wait for shipping from China, this one seems to be the new gold standard over in the cheap bubbler thread. it is half the price and from the pictures it looks a lot cleaner than my infamous does.

It's only $27 shipped to the US, not sure why shipping to Canada would be so much more. I'm guessing pipesdaddy charges more for shipping to Canada as well though.

Anyone with the F-bomb that have experienced a weird smell and taste from it? Are there some nice chemicals in there from the factory or do I just need to replace the water often?

For sure not me. Clean glass is mighty clean and inert.

I suggest you clean it well, give it a fresh charge of water and see if there's still an issue? All sorts of nasty stuff (like molds and stuff) can happen in stale water with time.

Good luck with it, but IMO no problem with the glass in my F Bomb.

I squeeze a citrus fruit of some kind into any glass piece and rinse with RO or Distilled water before use.

Also hot soapy water rinse as well.

Basic sanitation!

Clean anything you put to your mouth.

I have $50.00 glasses from FRANCE.
I cleaned each one before I filled them with WHITE STAR.

A Glass piece from any factory is getting a cleaning before it touches these lips!

Newbie here, had my Solo for about 3 weeks. After about 45 years of smoking joints and bowls, I immediately fell in love with vaping. Smoking is a thing of the past for me. My Solo was one of the dreaded M1C1's, and I had no problem until yesterday, but I think I caused the problem myself.

First off, I bought the Solo from Aroma-Tek for $150, the cheapest one I could find online. So yesterday I started having problems with the unit not heating properly. After a minute or two, all the heating lights went out, the blue idle light was blinking, but the until seemed to continue heating very rapidly and burned the herb to a dark brown very quickly. After no more than 3 minutes of this, it turned itself off. I assumed I got a defective unit. (My wife thinks it was "knock off" because it was so cheap.) I emailed Aroma-Tek, and they responded promptly this morning with an RMA number and the process for returning and possibly exchanging the unit.

However...last night I noticed that the top piece of the unit was not screwed as tightly as it could be. I removed it when I bought a PVHES stem to place the silicone ring and apparently it loosened up a bit over time. Anyway, I tightened the top piece and the unit started working perfectly again. No more problems with the heating unit. I have noticed since that the top piece sometimes loosens as the until heats up and cools down.

I'm not sure if the unit is defective or if tightening the top fixed the problem, but it seems to be working fine now, and I was pleased to find out that Aroma-Tek was very responsive.

Anyway, I just shared this in case anybody else has the same problem that might be solved by just tightening the top piece of the unit.

I would be suspicious and send it back. It sounds like the temperature sensor has a bad connection. This would cause the heat to run a muck. In my thinking anyway.
Screwing the top or changing the pressure may have been enough to cause the connection to work again.
Try loosening it to see if you can repeat the error.
Regardless, it would be a trust thing now. If you have no back up vape then use until you get one.
Makes for a Merry Christmas.

Haha alright, Hoof Hearted and RD, you two have convinced me not to spend what is still a decent amount of money for me on either the PNWT or the f-bomb and save up for a nice bong. Speaking of which, I'm thinking of grabbing this, y'all think this is a good deal? http://fuckcombustion.com/threads/burner-glassworks-reverse-shower-head-direct-inject-tube.11869/

They key distinction w/ the PNWT or fBomb is they are small, and almost as portable as the Solo itself.

I will always use a bubbler over the water tubes in a desktop set up. But if I was on the go, I would take a fbomb with me instead of just stock stems.

In terms of bubblers, the "infamous" pipes-daddy bubbler is VERY SMALL and very basic in terms of how it perks. It's great if you need the smallest bubbler you can buy.

If you ever plan on expanding, or getting add-ons, I would suggest something slightly bigger. And then once you find that, get something even slightly wider. :) Next thing you know, you'll have a fat Mobius and be all set.

It's brand new, so it's still as clean as when I got it. Honestly can't recall if it smelled like this out of the box, but I think I would have noticed.

But the fact that it's new makes it weird that it would be from lack of cleaning/old water, as I have yet to use it enough for it to get dirty and the smell is still there after changing to fresh water. If I breathe through just the F-bomb it tastes horrible, but using it with the Solo it's not as bad.

That's a whole different thing, for sure wash it well before first use. Always. True it was very hot at one time, but best to wash the stuff it's picked up out.....along with the odd spider.

I've no idea how the label is silk screened on, probably some epoxy paint?.

I usually rinse such stuff out with ISO, but always wash with strong dish detergent, hot water, rinse well and then fill for first use. Nothing of interest should remain on the glass at that point. Solvents and strong detergents are the key, most of what you want to remove won't rinse away. You need to 'do' the dishes, not just rinse them off and put them back in the cabinet.

Sorry for misunderstanding your question.
