The Cloud EVO Anticipation Thread

Gentle cow vaper and halloween kiddo
Being international Early bird I have high hopes to be vaping the evo-lutonary way next year.

This year I try sticking to mediocre hopes considering current date, holiday season and overworked delivery services :2c:

I wouldn't mind being proven wrong though :spliff: :peace:

Peoples! EB here with no FedEx.

Everytime I see a FedEx truck on the road, my heart skips a beat.

I'm broken now

Thanks a lot!

Another slow week for shipping emails :(

Speculation:

The lack of shipping notices are either because of the fanatic confidentiality agreement, or because evos aren't being shipped out these last couple of weeks. If it's the latter, I wonder if it has anything to do with the reports of heating inconsistency between units, where one combusts at 11am and another doesn't at 3pm. If I was vxc I would certainly want to work out where that inconsistency was coming from before ramping up production. Come on SM, we're all pulling for you but we want our evo's now!

There I feel a little better :haw::freak::razz:

...is this just CGI? It can't be so impossibly difficult to make compared to the bent neck...

But to give some real feedback: lose the top Swagger label, stick with the little one on the bottom.

Here is another pic of the EB Straight Neck tube on Instagram. I must say that the Straight Tube looks amazing and I hope it hits so well it makes it worth the wait! Maybe one day I will get one of these, but it is starting to look like next year by the lack of shipping confirmation emails being reported :(.

At least some lucky person is testing their new EVO and EB hydratube. And they say they will post
some videos of it in action so that sure would be nice to see! a video of the tube being milked! but heres to Santa pulling off an EVO miracle and delivering them to all the "good" IGG boys and girls!

I am starting to realize that even when I get my evo, the memory of being denied for so long will be like a bad taste, spoiling the experience.

I hope it can obliterate this unwanted experience from my consciousness, because I might just sell it if the chemistry isn't there...

Mr Kickass, sir. I'm confident this won't be the case, but rather the opposite. The experience will make the painful wait a distant memory. At least that's what I hope for you.

Cheers, fellow vaporist.

Actually, I think that waiting through a few shipments, so they have a chance to address a few minor issues before your own is produced and shipped, might make the wait that much better.

I'm closely monitoring the overheating issue, as I may have seen it in mine. Trust me, you really do want to wait just a bit.

Vapes on vapes on vapes!
Warning: Huge wall of text incoming. I'm just sharing my personal situation and experience and if anyone cares to read it and share their input I'd appreciate it. I'm sorry it's such a long post, I've just been thinking about it a lot and I've got to take my mind off of studying for a bit.

I'm an Early Bird and I'm getting a little bit of cold feet as well. I'm not overreacting or anything as I have made no decision yet. I forget what they call it, but I have the Cloud model that I believe is in between the OG Ticker and the Cloud Plus. I really have no complaints about it. It takes about 8-9 minutes to heat up (vapes great right when it goes green), it gets hot, but with a small fan is completely cool to the touch, and the bonus for me is that it has around a 90 minute auto-shutoff cycle. I have not timed it, but I know it is on for more than an hour before going in to auto-shutoff. After getting very good at grind techniques and ELB loading techniques I get perfectly even brown every time at 12:00 on the dial. It also hits like a beast and gets great extraction.

Here is my line of logic at the moment. It seems that it takes the EVO ~10 minutes to reach true temp. I may be incorrect, but I have seen some anecdotes alluding to this. I haven't read the entire EVO thread as I have finals and work part-time, but back to the point. The heat up time doesn't bother me much at all anyways and if anything I'd just get a WeMo if it did. So the heat up time on the EVO isn't a huge bonus for my situation.

I am a bit worried about the combustion possibility of the EVO to be honest. I vape my reclaim sometimes, but I never do oils or concentrates. So the higher temp possibilities doesn't seem like much of an upside to my situation again. I don't know how my Cloud model compares to the EVO temp-wise, but it seems that both get hot to the touch, but not unbearable. I know the bottom of the EVO stays cool, so that would be a bonus. Part of the reason I keep the fan on my Cloud is because I feel it may help extend the life of it. I don't know much of anything about the science behind this idea and don't really want to debate that part, it is just a preference/belief.

So I'm not sure if I really want/need the EVO. I may be wrong on some points and please correct me if I am because this is part of the reason I am posting. It may just be cold feet, but I am extremely happy with my setup. I am just debating if it is worth the ~$400 difference in value (would sell my cloud to my buddy for $200, could sell the EVO/glass for ~$600 on eBay I'd guess). I know it comes down to personal preference, but any input would help.

Just to be clear I'm not being critical of the aspects of the EVO, I'm just not sure if the benefits are that substantial in my personal situation. Sorry to have such a long post, I've just been thinking about this a lot lately and I don't have people I could talk to in real life who would know the specifics about these vaporizers.

End Rant.

I don't have or have I ever used a cloud/evo (EB waiting) so I can't speak as far as performance of the two.

As far as selling though, it has been 5+ months of waiting for the EVO so you might as well continue waiting. If for no other reason a backup in case your Cloud dies

Heat-up speed is one of the EVO's better features. I can't recall any Fanatic mentioning 10 minutes, by far the comments have been positive over how fast it is ready. I turn mine on at 3, when it hits green I dial it back to 10:30-12 (depending), when it hits green again it's built thermal mass and delivers milk. For most of us, by the time we grind and load, the unit is about ready. Many of us are done with our session well within 10 minutes.

Most units don't reach combustion temp outside the "turbo" zone which is ~3+ (the EVO can generate more heat than the Cloud). But some have at a lower setting, the combustion was attributable to very dry herb and/or the user still learning technique. And some have at a lower setting because the units are indeed running hot, those units may need a firmware tweak (although for some a hotter unit is desirable because that facilitates using concentrates). New EVO owners who were already Cloud owners are having to learn a different technique. The airflow is less in the EVO; this is (in part) why the EVO hits are more tasty, smooth, dense, economical, and deliver an incredibly strong high. You don't need to pull hard with the EVO; the hits are best when relaxed and steady.

So I'm not sure if I really want/need the EVO. I may be wrong on some points and please correct me if I am because this is part of the reason I am posting. It may just be cold feet, but I am extremely happy with my setup. I know it comes down to personal preference, but any input would help . . .

All I can say is that among the Fanatics, the feedback has been very positive. A small number of us have needed a little more time and practice to understand the machine and get our technique down, but once done, they have been very positive also. Of course, in any group of users there will be mix of opinions, so while most are definitely happy if not ecstatic, no doubt there are also some who are less so and a few who are much less so. And then there are some units which need firmware recalibration. But SM has been very good about addressing complaints. All in all, it appears to me that a clear majority are quite happy with their EVO.

All that said, if you are extremely happy with your Cloud, well then maybe for you the EVO is only incrementally better and therefore the value is not there for you. I certainly wouldn't try to sell you otherwise. Maybe VXL would allow your order to be put on hold while they work down their backlog, giving you opportunity to see more feedback (I trust you've read all the reviews on the EVO thread)? If you do choose to receive your EVO and don't like it, you certainly could sell it here, and quickly. (If you like HydraTubes, you probably will really like the EB Swagger.) End of the day, no one knows you better than you.

Thanks for your response OBG. I haven't read all of the reviews and I guess I missed that some units are running hotter than they are supposed to. I'm sure I'll end up loving it I was just a bit concerned when I had heard about combustion occurring. I just kind of needed to vent out my worries as I'm an anxious person. Even typing them out I see that there are positives and although there will be an experimenting phase, I'm sure I'll find the sweet spot on the EVO too.

Perhaps what may the most important point, is that VXL has a reputation for doing all it can to make things right. So you can feel safe about whatever you decide.

I cannot wait to get my EVO!!! I wouldn't give a damn about problems with it. As long as you're dealing with a company this involved I'd do business with a business of this caliber anytime!! Keep up the awesome work STONEMONKEY & VAPEXHALE, this type of involvement with any company and their product is unparalleled!!!

While anticipating a video of the EB straight neck tube, I saw this pic on Instagram and thought I would post it here. So does Vapexhale send a Fuck Cancer wristband with my Evo or do I need to order my own! ;) FC !
Heres hoping that SM and Vapexhale resolve the Evo heating consistency issue and can be confident that the Evos are performing to their full potential! I'd be happy to test it ! :science: over and over just to be sure! I can wait for that!
Nice pic of what I am anticipating! Please post a video of the tube in action so I can at least dream about it! TIA!
