Just got my new charger yesterday. Is put both of my batteries that were not charged in it at 3pm. When I went to sleep the light was still red. When I woke up this morning 16 hours after I first put them on the charger the light still red. When I sent back my omicron two weeks ago for warranty they said my batteries were still good. Is this a normal charge time?

With the stock charger yes. http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B005UAI372/ref=mp_s_a_1_2?qid=1386864643&sr=8-2

I use this ^^ works great and charge time is only a few hours

Do you know what is the charge time with the stock charger?

Sorry I can't say for sure, but before mine crapped out on me it would take half a day to charge them completely and now it only takes 2 - 3 hours with the new charger I got.

I'm gonna get the charger when I order wax sculpting tools from amazon.

YES.

Everyone stacking batteries needs a charger like this. The stock Persei/Omicron charger only lets you know if one of the batteries are charged (green light goes on if either battery is full)... which means you could have one fully charged and one partially charged battery with no way to really tell. This not ideal by any means.

The charger linked (I have one too) will give individual charge indicators for all 4 battery spots. Plus it charges faster, can charge 4 batteries at once, and adjusts charge rate automatically based on charge status (how full or empty it is) as well as a few other features which will help preserve battery life.

WELL worth the $15 or wtf ever it costs.

looks like your question was skipped

Barely getting any vapor with the hercules. Can anyone help?

are you running 3.7v ? what set-up?

i love my sr71 with Persei set-up at 7.4v & 6v but haven't had much success at 3.7v. I'm hoping the AW batteries i ordered will help.

i got my order of AW batteries but I still couldn't get the black rod to work at 3.7v.
now I have a multi meter to test it and the black rod shows 1.3 ohm by itself so i tried it at 6v and it works great.

Thats a flawed black rod. Possible to test the leads on the MM before using it on the rod to really see what the black rod is at?

i don't really want to take the sr71 apart again right now, its all loaded and so am I.

the multi meter is new to me. What are you asking me to do?

Just touch the leads of the MM and see what the resistance is of the wires.

I can see clearly now the smoke is gone...
You geeks kill me.

and I mean that in the nicest way. I don't know a ohm from a amp, from a volt ad nauseum. I wish I understood this shit. :)

IDK anything. I just know that you need to account for resistance within the testing equipment (unless its pricey stuff which does it for you) by subtracting the two values.

Actually not so, unless the W9 supplied charger has changed? The two slots are in parallel (check them with your meter and see). It's a single channel charger (only one LED because of this). So both batteries have to be at full voltage to get the light to change.....they basically are forced to the same charge level. In the case of a defective battery, of course, all bets are off. But as long as they're balanced well such chargers will work OK.

Knowing it's a single channel, a guy can get the same results by charging one battery at a time. Slower than a multi channel, of course, but the same results electrically in terms of battery charge.

Not according to my anecdotal evidence. I could put a mostly charged battery in there and have the indicator pop green within 30 minutes even though battery number two was completely dead and inserted into the charger at the same time.

Is the electronics of the Omicron V2 limiting it to 3.7v output, or is it possible to get 7.4v with Omicron V2 with an appropriate battery setup? not the V2.5

Like I said, you've got a meter? Check it yourself. No need to guess. Plus on each side is shorted to the other, likewise minus. The two battery slots are in parallel.

I've opened it up and traced the circuit, I'm confident it's a simple single channel charger with two slots. Not uncommon, check this well respected one out:

Note the answer to the fifth FAQ question:
"The QuickCharger charges each cell in parallel to the same level of charge. This increases battery performance and battery life."

I fact I bet plugging in a charged battery on one side and aone on the other would be quite spectacular......without having the charger itself plugged in.

No, you need the "HVD" marked V2 tops for anything over 4.2 Volts. Two batteries in series will kill it otherwise.

Well either way it took over 24 hours to charge the two batteries in the charger. I'm gonna be grabbing the one linked earlier.

No problem, I'm sure it'll point to one battery being weaker than the other.

If you charge your current batteries with your charger one at a time they don't take the same time, right?

IMO a better charger is a good call, I have (I think) four of the D9 issue ones I don't use, favoring one of several others with true individual channels.
