Traditional Hashish Pipes

I know this is a site that is against combustion, but seeing as the line is blurred when it comes to smoking concentrates, I wanted to ask if anyone else here enjoys a traditional style smoke session from time to time. I like dabbing and using my DART when I have viscous concentrates, and when I have dry sifted kief my MFLB does the job just fine. The only time I break out my Sebsi is when I'm smoking full melt bubble hash. I know I could throw it on a nail or hit it in my thermovape EVO, but I prefer to smoke my 90 micron bubble hash out of a traditional pipe. Is it just the Pakistani in my blood, or does anyone else feel the same?

This is the kind of pipe I'm talking about.

I admit to 'smoking' half-melt bubble hash in a dry pipe. Usually glass w/ a screen though.

Never quite heard of the sebsi but it looks interesting. Besides a narrow bowl does it have any functional advantage to your average glass pipe, when it comes to hash?

I see no advantage over a glass pipe other than the length, relative indestructibility, and artistic style that can be put into woodworking. I just like the style of wooden pipes, and hash is the only thing I can justify putting into a wooden pipe, as flowers tend to produce too much resin, and leave the pipe tasting skunky, while quality hash leaves just a faint hash taste in the pipe.

Right now I'm in the process of having a pipe specifically designed for bubble hash custom made by my friends at Blue Elephant Enterprises, a small pipe making company. I'll get pictures posted once the prototype is done.

In the old days we used to 'cure' our wood and bone pipes by smoking a small amount of honey through them. It would seal up the pores and make for a harder surface. I still occasionally smoke a bowl of shish.

It will have a metal bowl liner, screen and metal tubing to hold the pieces together, but the rest of the pipe is wood. I still have yet to get the prototype in my hands, so I'm not sure how far the metal liner extends.

I'm working on setting up a website for others interested in buying these. Does that mean I have to register my FC account as a product vendor?

Thanks!

I'd still like to be in accordance with forum rules if I represent a product related to concentrates.

IMO melting bubble hash with hempwick is closer to vaporization than dabbing BHO on a nail, as the hot air that touches my bubble is probably closer to ~420 degrees than a nail, which I'm sure reaches combustion temps when it flash vaporizes. At the least I'm sure a dab has a greater ratio of conduction/convection than a hit using hempwick.

My logic behind this is that I can bring the hempwick closer and closer to my bubble hash until I see it begin to liquefy and melt. When one does a dab, the entire piece of concentrate is dropped on the hot metal, making it completely flash vaporize at a rate that is not really controllable by the user (other than making snakes and doing the dab slow, but my guess is that will increase the ratio of conduction to convection even more).

I know that the most efficient and health conscious way to consume bubble hash would be a convection vaporizer, but seeing as dabbing is talked about quite a bit here and that's not completely vaporization, I figured traditional smoking methods should have a thread.
