Discontinued VapeXhale Cloud EVO

When I use mine I usually use it at noon. But the ABV isn't consistent until it has warmed up for at least 10 mins(same as my ticker). If I wanted to get a session in right at the green light I would need to turn it to max and even then when I hit it right at green the ABV isn't that dark once it stops producing vapor? It takes AT LEAST 5 mins of heat up otherwise I need to turn it to 3pm on the dial at least. Does this sound similar @M00NEY @Lostclusters ??

Have you tried it on different plug outlets? I recall a recent post about someone that got an LSV that wasn't getting as hot on a strip compared to directly being plugged in... just tossing out ideas.

So it's been over 24 hours hours with my new friend EVO. After the wait and all that each and every one of has gone through is it worth it? Well, I can answer that . . .

Wow, and that's after this . . .

I think it's only fair if reviewed after a couple dozen sessions.

Couple dozen EVO sessions in under 24 hours. That must be a record! :D

I would go beyond similar and all the way to identical...

Also of note, my auto shut off is around 40 min. Is that similar to yours @VapeNStone and @Lostclusters? I know many get an hour, I know there are temp variances, so I wonder if we can correlate lower temp units to shorter auto shut off, or if we can really correlate anything useful in understanding if this is just a variance or an issue to warrant service?

I guess the more we can figure out together, the better for everyone, including the masters behind the curtain over at VXL.

@M00NEY @Lostclusters my EVO is the same. I actually tried it on 9am first and got no vapor because of all the talk about everyone's EVO's running really hot. I had a buddy bring some shatter over the other day and it couldn't even vape it at max :-(. @stonemonkey55 I thought this thing was supposed to be able to handle concentrates?

Yours is running more at the proper temperature than the ones that are combusting at an earlier position on the dial. There is a device that we are coming out with for concentrates that isn't the two cap method and suspends the oils closer to the heat source. Just sit tight as we perfect the device before release.

I just checked the support queue and every ticket has a response. Please open another ticket as the system shows no one is waiting for an answer right now.

OK I shall...waiting for an answer if they give me a medical cannabis permit... :D :D :D

Mine combusts at 1:00. Even 12:00 is to hot. I'd submit a ticket.

Sounds like it is ticket time.

I am not so sure I am on board with this. I do not want one that combusts @1:00 but I believe mine should be vaping better at a lower setting.

I have been reading about the Cloud EVO for a little while now, and really considering upgrading my current vape (Arizer EQ) for an EVO. The high price is making me doubt however - I have heard there were many issues (or so it seems) with the original Cloud. I was wondering what the success rates are with the EVO? (Sorry if this question has already been asked in this forum...). I love vaping, relatively new to it, and the design quality and glass ware of the EVO has really got my attention. Also, I read different things on different websites about the warranty time - does it come with a one, two or three year warranty? It seems to me that a one-year warranty is a little short for such an expensive item...
Thank you for your answers!!

2 yrs. on the EVO. The original Cloud was 1 yr. If you read 3 yrs. anywhere, then that was totally incorrect. It IS a lot of money. If you're uncomfortable committing this early, then just wait a while until results are in on longer term reliability.

OK disagree with me, I can't force you to be right

Mine shuts off anywhere from 33-37 minutes.

Combusts at 1 o'clock position.

Submitted a ticket and was told it shouldn't be a problem, but I could send it in and they'd check it out. Means doing without the EVO until they get around to doing warranty repairs. Since they haven't said any of them are doing that currently I expect that means I'd have to wait until next Spring or Summer for them to get the new EVOs out and can think about doing repairs.

My initial impression is @stonemonkey55 is right about the dial programming, however, the big difference for me is the TASTE!!! I tried to vape flower at 3 and its just too toasty for me. The power of the EVO is amazing because you can use it to vape from a cold start while everything is coming up to temp rather than wait. When doing this I set a slightly higher temp and I get even tastier vapor. Its like eating your medicine . . . I find the dial provides a nice selection experience. The vapor is definitely different on this thing. Its smoother, silkier, more refined. The particle size seems smaller, and did I mention the taste? I think there is some voodoo in the new bamboo  There is also the distinct possibility that this thing medicates harder than my OG and + models did, but more testing is necessary to be certain . . . ;)

I love my new EVO because:
  • Light weight is so nice
  • Gets hot fast, very powerful
  • I am no longer a human WEMO
  • The taste, the taste, the taste!!!
  • Concentrate level relief with flowers
  • Smoother, tastier, silkier vapor effortlessly
  • Draw is tighter then previous so relaxing into it was key for me
  • New removable power cord allows multiple cords throughout and around the house
  • As a hand warmer, it rocks the world. Cold winter arthritis just got kicked in the nuts :)

"We have an update for our international contributors. Testing has been going well and we are now selecting components that have a longer production life. Some of the previous components we had are not going to be produced in the near future so we need to identify replacement parts to ensure that we can continue building EVOs after the older components are phased out."

I'm confused because I stopped following the thread to just try and be patient until I eventually get mine. Does this mean that the evo design is ALREADY changing, or is that specific quote just for international units?

I remember being sad thinking I wouldn't get this before Halloween, now I'm wondering if I'll be lucky enough to get it in 2013 :( I've had to fill its place for now with my new volcano and my old underdog just hoping that this thing is worth the wait. I have a gut feeling that selling my ticker was a bad move. I know I was not a fan of the cloud+ at all, so hopefully this is just an improved ticker style more so than the cloud+.

At this point I'm pretty much just aching for any kind of consistency/reliability with this vape. Its definitely been one of my favorites (the ticker) but its just a stressful time to be a vapexhale fan it seems like. Still by all means a huge fan, but just wondering how everything is playing out at this point. I'm hoping that sooner than later they can fulfill all the pre-orders and get around to having ready to sell inventory like a traditional sales business. That and focusing on customer support. I have no doubt that once they get there, their customer support and products will be top notch.

I am aware that most of my complaints are due to me signing up early to get this vape at a heavily reduced price. That is why I have no ill feelings to them AT ALL, but I am pretty disappointed in how the crowd funding nature of things turns out in general. If I was buying the vape at full price and waiting 2 months after the suggested date I'd be much more upset. Then again if I paid full price I'd have had mine long ago anyway like my friends do, who placed their orders way after mine.

Unless things have changed, I believe they said it was 2 years for Indiegogo contributors and 1 year for everyone else.

@darkrom that update was for international 220v users. Remember, production is not a straight line right now. It will scale upwards . . .

Thanks. Glad to hear they didn't already have to make changes.

Yeah I know production is just ramping up etc, its just I'm dying for the thing, but at the same time I'm starting to lose interest since I have had to replace it with other vapes over the last 2 months. I'm sure that will change when it finally shows, at this point I'm hoping for pre-xmas, but even that may seem too optimistic at this point.

Just to clarify, we are specifically talking about the 220V version and the change there is a non-factor at the consumer level due to the fact that these are smaller components for the PCB such as resistors, capacitors, etc etc. We just didn't want to select components that are no longer going to be manufactured and substitutes that do the same things shouldn't be overly difficult to source. We just need to properly test them before giving them our thumbs up. The formal design of the EVO is locked and there are no other scheduled changes other than building and fulfilling at this point.

Sounds like it is ticket time.

"better" vaping at lower settings is an extremely difficult thing to quantify but I believe that VapeNStone was able to get combustion with the dial at the max setting and that is how the unit is supposed to be functioning. The other people received hotter running units that shouldn't be combusting at those settings but are free to send them back to get re-tuned but otherwise will run fine. Does your unit at max temp give you the range you need for your vaping needs @Lostclusters ?

@VapeNStone @M00NEY - like most other vaporizers on the market, there is a ready to vape period and an optimal warm up period. For MAX setting, letting it warm up for a couple extra minutes (after the light goes green) will really allow the thermal mass to get up to the proper temperature for high temp extractions. Hope this helps.

Pretty much exactly how mine performs ... haven't tried concentrate yet though ... so my routine is turn it to 3 and hit immediately once the light turns green ... or if I'm just hanging around ... turn it to noon and if I hit it early turn it up otherwise noon will give me good vapor and nice brown ABV.

Cool! Thought that might be the case! (I know my unit rocks that's for sure!)
