Vapor Viking
Several years of use of use later my revision 1 Solo with the black coated bowl is still puffing good vapor at me.
Besides flaking off some of the black coating and having lost some of it's battery life it goes as well as the day I purchased it...

And it's mate, the first revision that had a stainless only bowl is still as good as the day it arrived seeing almost as much use too.

Ok, I tried to search for this but could not find a similar issue. I bought the Solo on Monday and got it yesterday. Read the instructions and after letting it charge to 100% did the 12 minute session at max to be able to put the glass piece in and once I was able to get that done I had a wonderful vape session that night. Come home from work today and try to vape again but I turn the vape on then put the temp level to three. It sat there blinking the heat LED for about 10-15 seconds then beeped and shut off. I tried again with the same results. I thought well maybe the battery died so I charged it to 100% again, but again after I turn the vape on it goes to the idle state just fine but I soon as I raise the temp settings it starts to flash the heat LED then 10-15 seconds later it just beeps and shuts off. Am I doing something wrong, did I break it somehow. Any help will be much appreciated. Thank You

Sounds like it is defective. Sorry. Just know when you get one that works they work really well (so dont be scared off). Could you post the serial code from the bottom? (M1C1, M1D1, M1D2, M1A, ect)

You might also want to see if it's not a wall plug-related issue. What I mean by that is, plug your Solo and charger into a different wall plug, preferably one not in the room you're currently in. Or if you have it on a power strip, try plugging directly into the wall. Just trying to rule out as much as we can.

Hey guys,

I'm new to this website so I'm not sure if someone has a solution to this. But I recently bought this unit locally so I believe I am the second owner. It has already been used so I thought it would work from my previous experience with the no2. I tried to turn on the solo by holding down both arrow keys for 5 seconds. There's no beep but the blue idle light starts flashing for maybe 5 times after I stop holding down both arrows. I want to heat the unit so I press the up arrow key and it jumps straight to 7 and flashes the turns off. I tried plugging in and charging, but same thing happens. Except when it's plugged in, it flashes back and forth with both the idle and 7 light. It doesn't seem to work and I'm afraid it is broken. Any help would be great!

No , you did NOT combust .
I don't see any Grey Ashes .
You left it in too long and over cooked it .
That's probably what you inhaled , not smoke .

Yes , you will want to evaporate all the iso/vodka before using the reclaim . And you can cook with it if you want to , boil your stems
in hot milk/chocolate is one way .

Good to know... I've never baked anytHing black like this in a vape... and to see smoke coming out though with no flames. !

Do a stem packed in oil is enough for a good cup of hot cocoa? I'd need a frw stems for enough to make budder. l :)

Ty! Now I get it! My stock stem just got so loose it falls out if I turn the solo over. Would this help? I like that wood stem!

Thanks!
I am using lightly lightly trimmed buds.. This my favorite in I've horded two yeats. It's not notrimmed much and dry but is awesome for nsusea. Since I vape buds and shake, I lrsve sugar costed on my buds. I can change the way I trim next year, but My main purpose for the solo is for buds d bubble hash, which I still must make. My newest buds are top shelf... I have all sorts :) I Don't enjoy BHO nor do I have a set up to make other better hashes.
Is this the wrong vapoizer for me?!

I put thee metal screen over the glass. Now I can't get itt out to clean it! I have tried a dental pick and pliers. Am afraid to break the glass. Is it normal for a stem to get this dirty In a week?? Do you have any suggestions?

The only damage I see from that heat flash is that now the stem falls out. Would buyng a wood stem and o ring solve this? :\
Check what OF suggested in post #21447 concerning the size and material for the o-ring... :)

Try this ;

You may be able to manually reset your Solo.
Please try the following:

  • plug in the Solo unit to charger
  • press and hold both buttons for approximately 4 seconds
  • wait for 10 seconds then unplug from charger
Once you have done this try out the unit again.

This was posted by ONJ .
Hope this helps .

Just digging through the Archives (someone linked to this recently), and found how to Reset the unit which I thought was GREAT advice. It's probably a good idea to do this even when it's not broken just to keep it fresh. I've never had to do it myself, but I'm sure this will come in handy.

Has anyone had experience with Reseting? Can you provide any more information regarding timing, etc ?

I haven't been in this thread in months, it just grows way too quick to keep up with it but I stumbled in and thought I could help. Just so you know you won't be able to reset it unless you are getting the light show. if you ever have to do it, you won't have to worry about timing, you will be able to tell from the lights abd beeping alone. When you hold both buttons to reset it, the beep will stop after it is reset then just wait approximately ten seconds to unplug it

A true bummer. I've seen this before (but didn't report it). It was a result of one of the four wires to the heater being broken. I'd been messing around in there and didn't even realize I'd done it (which is why I think random guys should stay clear of the area......). That is if the heater (or maybe it was the temperature sensor) isn't there when it goes to heat it tilts out.

From your end, I'm afraid this means it has to go back.....

Unfortunate timing, but the truth of such things is exactly that. Most 'legitimate' service failures are very early on. New cars have bugs, many have to get reworked, but once running they tend to run many years trouble free. People too, in general if you survive the first few years of childhood you're good through middle age.....worldwide to some scale. Or litters of puppies. Or vapes. In the 'trade' it's called "infant mortality". The curve is always the same basically, lots of failures soon dropping quickly to a (hopefully) long period of low failure rates that slowly rises as they start getting really old and random lifespan issues start 'picking them off' and the population drops.

Condolences.

I had a new M1C1 which did the same thing. It's back to the seller, waiting for a replacement...

Which pvhes stem should I get?

I've tried all kinds of PV stems, they are all good. they were all made differently, the one I have right now is a shorty turbo n the glass is thick with a horizontal groove around the perimeter. My friend had a reg turbo n the glass was thinner, didnt fit as well but warmed up quicker. My old pvhes was exactly like stock with the bottom edge melted n air grooves cut. But they all work good. Bent makes more ergonomic and aesthetic sense to me , and turbo makes cleaning even easier. I like the shorty because you can essentially use the same amount of herb and pack it a bit tighter for better extraction IMO

Got to love the USPS for delivering my Solo a day early. On its' first full charge as I type. It is a M1D. 12 min burn in on 7 next. Then the beginning of a great weekend. Hoping for the best.
Update First impression after two bowls;
This is from someone who's only other portable is the Ascent. Now understand, having nothing to compare it to, I have been raving about the Ascent, even while having two failures. Have seen the Solo in LHS for over the past year. Initial price, big glass stem turned me off, bla bla bla.

I am a techno buff, heard about Ascent and hung in there. Currently Awaiting my 2nd replacement. Since price has come down, and AFTER READIG THIS THREAD, I decided to get a Solo as an alternative/backup. Great decision. I am quite sure this will become my primary traveler. As far as not being stealthy, it fits in a zippered bottle coli with straight stem perfectly. Like that Solo stands by itself. Short piece of silicon tubing from spare straight stem to bong w/ GonG tube conn. and WOW. Much smaller bowl than the Ascent, but much denser hits even on lower temp. I notice quite a difference in draw between the 3 stems that I have. Variance in hole size. Put a sst screen in bottom of heater and one domed down in glass bowl of each stem (reducing size further). Will do a side by side comparison at some point but I wish I had gotten this a year ago.
Any one on the fence, Solo for price, reliability, ease of use, performance. This thing is bullet proof. It will be difficult to see where the Ascent out shine the Solo other then aesthetics/stealth and bells & whistles. Having one of each will turn into a good thing as I see each having some practicality. Hope this doesn't further delay the shipment of my replacement Ascent, but I'm not in as big a rush now.

only buy a solo from an authorized reseller if you want warranty.

Is there a list of authorized resellers? I searched the arizer.com site (and arizer.org) for the term authorized and there was one hit -- not a list, just a mention.

Hey guys.

I am interested in buying a used solo. The solo is about a year and a half old. From amazon uk.

Is there anything i should ask him? Important issues etc.??

Also this is the serialnumber. Is this a "good" one? (Flavor smell etc)

Thanks so much!

I just got a PVHES and the power adapter. The PVHES is great and the extra air flow is amazing, everyone with solo should order one!
I have a question regarding the power adapter since it arrived without any instructions. I noticed that when I plug in the PA the solo turns on then I have to set the temp and it works normally and it shuts down after 12 min but then it turns on again but you have to set the temp again.
So is it normal that the solo with the PA will always stay on unless you remove the PA?
