I believe you can contact Indiegogo and they will be able to refund you. Not positive because I've never withdrawn money from a campaign before, but in theory yes.

Also, apparently dried green tea vapes at around 185-200˚C, so that could be a good tester.

You could also do salvia, I believe that's in a similar temperature range.

Definitely, that's why I think it sets a shady precedence; what else might some off camera person be giving him? A whip connected to a V-Tower?

I think Pre-Oder vs. Crowdsourcing is just a change in semantics. Both are paying for the delayed delivery of a product that has largely been untested by anyone outside the manufacturer. It's a great way to differentiate a donation between a payment, though (good luck w/ chargeback of donations). Also a great way to make people feel okay about beta-testing. What difference do you see here?

The difference is that one is a promise of product delivery, the other is no promise of product delivery. There should be less risk involved with pre-orders than crowdsourcing, mainly because a pre-order should have beta units already.

Stealthvape did have videos... Similar looking videos, although, you are correct that these weren't released until after the ship date. Doesn't change much that it was after alleged-ship IMO. They provided the same measure of proof you feel confident about here, although, with admittedly less content.

No, it very well does matter when they posted demos. They were asking for a pre-order on virtually no proof of concept. Just pics of a design and marketing. Here, GH is at least trying to show the a working unit while they're asking for money. If you were to pre-order a product, the product should be ready to go. Wouldn't it make sense to show usage videos if you had a beta unit ready to be mass produced? The complete lack of usage videos during the pre-ordering period should raise very good questions: Is this bullocks? Where's the usage video? How can you ask for money when you can't even show one video of your unit in action?

Sure, you can Google these guys to find out about their lives in college, a bike lock and UAV they've developed. Will googling them help you receive the device if they don't end up sending it? Will it help the device work better if it doesn't perform as described? Will it help a credit card dispute over what can be construed as a campaign donation?
Unfortunately, no refunds after the campaign is over (you can withdraw your donation before the campaign ends through Indiegogo, though). But, having their true identity tied to this campaign means that they are willing to risk their credentials and rep trying to get this product out there. With real names, there will be consequences if this fails horribly. IDK to what extent, but things like rep and credentials would be questioned as they go through their careers. No blame resting on a phantom "Alex." The results of this are their's to own. That's not very shady IMO.

Consequently, the comparison of two products that have not yet been tested in the real world by multiple third parties, remains valid and will continue to remain valid until GH is in the hands of someone other than the manufacturer.

Sure. But aside from third party reviews, can't you see how Stealthvape was incredibly sketchy? No names, no videos, no in-depth talk about heating elements or parts used. Stealthvape literally had nothing to offer in terms of proof until they mass manufactured faulty pre-order units. GH is showing us some proof that's not just a picture of a product with a caption reading "So easy to vape when you have a Grasshopper!"

Edit: Has anyone actually vaped salvia? Seems like it would extremely intense, especially for the higher concentrations.

Yeah I did it once around 2 years ago with DBV. I know some people bash on salvia, but it was truly a life-changing experience for me. I did it once, and have no desire to ever do it again, not because it was bad but because it was just complete and perfect as it was.

EDIT: I think it was 60x, but I'm not sure.

Wowly shit this thread has exploded.

I believe you can contact Indiegogo and they will be able to refund you. Not positive.

If you lose confidence you may back out up until the day that the campaign ends. After that there is no situation in which they are obligated to refund your money. That is of course the inherent risk of all crowd funding.

One, is that you can't see his face.

Two, is you never really see the vape in his mouth and being so, there is the possibility that he never really hit the vape at all but rather already had a lungful of vapor and just put the vape to the side of his face and exhaled what was already in his lungs. It actually looks like the vape was put to the side of his face rather than in his mouth.

And three, the way his head kind of bobbed and what he did with his mouth after the hit.

It just looks all weird. I've seen TONS of vids of people demonstrating vaporizers, but I've never seen one done like this.

One. Agree to disagree on that point I suppose. I personally wouldn't so I just can't fault them. If they cropped it close in so that you could only see the mouth and the vape would that work for you? Another issue with a front on video would be that they would have to cut to another camera to really get perspective on the exhaled vapor.

As far as two goes, I really don't see this as not being in his mouth.

And beyond that, even if he deep throated the thing there is never going to be a way to prove that they actually were pulling. There is always a possibility that he was held a huge hit in his lungs for a minute in the first video. Or that they were doing the same thing for each of the dozen hits in the second video. It just doesn't survive Occam's razor for me.

If I assume that I'm going beyond accusing them of some kind of incompetence like missing a deadline, not living up to our interpretations of what was meant by "desktop performance", getting hot to the touch, ect. I would have to assume outright malice to the entire community and accept that they are in, in fact, just running a scam.

I'm no where near there but if you are then, yeah, I recommend waiting for the retail version. You're investing in a wish a hope and a dream and should be at peace that you may get nothing at all before pulling the trigger.

got a mate over atm, showing him the SSV, he has an Exq and after like just a few tokes he was like, wow, i need one of these, hits so much better.

There's desktop performance and there's desktop performance. The above post is cross-quoted from the ssv thread. The ssv reportedly outperforms the Exq significantly, and there are desktop vapes that significantly out-perform the ssv nowadays, making it more mid-tier than before. Personally I don't expect the grasshopper to out-perform an ssv, but if it works as good as my pnp it will be a win. I can say that the ssv out-performs the pnp significantly. Maybe somebody else can chime in that has compared the pnp to the Exq.

We're here to fuck shit up.
The video problem can be easily solved.

The GH is supposed to be powerful and the water pipe adapter is something that can easily be made and is unlocked in the campaign. :science: Shit, You can make one with a piece of silicone. Pop the GH in the top of a clear bubbler and start pulling.

I make videos all the time that shows the unit plugged into the top of the bubbler and my face is either not seen at all or barely seen. I make a video every few days or so and I use the most minimal of effort and I'm just some blue collar guy that likes to get stoned... :spliff: If I can get it done, I'm sure these guys can, with all of their credentials.

I'll donate another $100 to pitch in for a video shoot.:D:cool::brow::nod::rockon:

You want perspective......

Hope ya don't mind, QB.

;)

I was gonna just cut the vid to show him shooting vapor into the camera on a front shot, but QB is so entertaining, I had to let it go as is.

I know, this isn't a Sub thread. Just using this for a bit of affect. Kind of apples to oranges but hey..........still kinda fits, eh?

Ok, done discussing the vid......

I don't have any doubts that these kids can pull this off, stranger things have happened, my only concerns are a Version 2.0 coming right around the corner. (Cloud, Vapor Blunt, Puffit, blah blah blah)

What I don't want is another company rushing to bring something to market that hasn't been thoroughly tested, but the fact that they literally cannot afford to purchase units to test them, raises flags to me about how anyone knows the finished product will work better?

I haven't posted in here in a few weeks, figured an updated video would surely circulate by now.
To be honest the legal issues of NC all seem kinda BS. If this thing is revolutionary surely they would spend $99 for a Southwest ticket to a legal state and get a video from someone who doesn't care. In fact, a demo from someone who doesn't work for the company would ease our doubts and keep the GH team in the clear, seems like a win-win to me.

For better or for worse the project is already fully funded. There has already been a slowdown in contact from them and I do not expect that we shall see another video or third party test; their social media spam has worked and approval from a minority of critical potential customers is no longer necessary.

I wonder if they could add an ink cartridge so we could actually write with it...

I actually thought I saw where they said there was a pen top attachment prally for stealth
I asked them day one because the colored pen mentioned a pen tip included with purchase. They said something along the lines of it being more difficult than expected and it wasn't planned but they did they say they could it if I bought the colored gH just that. But I doubt they will do it.
