So my unit completely died a couple weeks ago. I'm suspecting the battery... It won't turn on anymore at all. :{ I got a hold of a da vinci rep a couple days Ago and everything went awesome besides the incorrect mailing address. Now I gotta wait longer. :{

Some people are...I've had my replacement for about a month and a half and it is still functioning perfectly. Love the styling...love the taste (not up to Cloud standards, but what is?)...love the battery, mine seems to be good for a few hours. It's not the perfect portable vape. That doesn't exist yet. But it's a pretty fun vape, as long as you get a good one. :2c::nod::tup:

other than the failures, and the issue about not being able to vape well without a full bowl, what else makes this vape bad? How is the taste compared to the Solo? I mainly want this because of the battery life, portability, and high temperatures.

I guess you should have done that first ... before posting.
I didn't think it was like a coffee maker, meaning it will take a while to hit its stride and get the right taste. I didn't think it was a pre-mature post. More of a warning to any other over anxious users.

One other statement, never learn, I don't think I wiped down the old I-olite and I remember it tasted like hash. Just my experience.

In all fairness davinci have been great so far! It took longer than I would of liked but it was all sorted without any fuss. They do stand by their products!

I got my Ascent on Wednesday, and I havent been that wowed to be honest. It is my first portable vape however, and I think I just got used to the clouds the extreme q would produce.

However, I do have a few concerns. I feel like the battery gauge is so inaccurate. I fully charged until the battery was a solid black... and started vaping. Like 10 mins in, it drops to about 50%.

But my biggest worry is that the up and down buttons to control the temperature arent very responsive. For every 2 presses, it will only register once. Even if I slow down between presses, and even if im pressing hard. Is this normal for the Ascent? has anyone experienced this?

I read someone mention a problem about a weird digital noise coming from the Ascent when its heated... its like a j-j-j-j-j-j-j-j-j sound. Didnt hear if there was any resolution for this. I dont care about the noise because its really low, but I dont want to have a defective unit.

Overall, my main concern is about the unresponsive buttons. I havent gotten great clouds yet, but still learning on using the Ascent, especially from this thread. I tried the method with putting a bit of bud at the bottom and putting the oil jar on top without the lid... it seems to come out brown, but I dont get much vapour.

Anyways, if someone could let me know if they had the button problem, that would be great. I did a search on google and couldnt find anything. I havent finished reading this entire thread cause its 166 pages long, but still working on it.

Thanks for any help guys!

I have had a burl Ascent since its inception and i must say i have had no issues to speak of. I bought an Ascent because i used the OG Davinci for 2 years. (still works fine) The Ascent has phenomenal taste and you can put in a little (use thr jar with no lid on top) or a lot :) the battery lasts a long time and there is no smell really because of the seal. I gotta admit, ive been taking that out lately because its been -3 here and working at night i cant take the solo or cera in their respective cases into work with me at night and if you ever try them from that cold a start in the car its a pain in da ass :) (even though all 3 work from that temp, i had to try it:))

Mine that died is also the burl wood! Had no problems with it until today, now it won't heat up or charge at all! Shame as up till now has been a great vape, much improved over the version 1. But It's only lasted me about seven weeks.

Same failure as my Stealth 1AA1 after 38 days. My replacement should be shipping today.

Mine should arrive here in Thailand next Monday (Black Stealth) ... but by sounds of things ... it may be dead on arrival! ... I hope not!

Oh well ... still have my trusty (modified) Vaporblunt 2.0 as a backup. It's still going strong!

Just recvd the straight water tool attachment for my Ascent. I really don't like how long it is. It sticks out of the top about an inch longer than I would like. I don't know much about working with glass. Is there an easy way to cut an inch off of the narrow end?

i heard this method works great (i have not tried it yet to test):

1) tie a string around the glass tube where you want the "cut" to be
2) wet the string with lighter fluid
3) light the string and rotate the glass tube to allow the flame to circle the tube
4) listen for a slight "crack" sound in the glass
5) run the tube under cold water and it "should" break cleanly on its own where the string was
6) file down and sharp edges

That makes sense and should work. I've got one coming and may give it a try, as it looked long in the photos.
Question; I see that you have both an Ascent and a Solo. Thinking of trying the DV 14mm with a Solo. Does the stem of the Ascent fit in the stem of the Solo?

like actually put the ascent stem inside the solo stem?? i honestly cant say since i never tried it. i can say the ascent stem does not fit in the solo natively

I have a Solo coming tomorrow and replacement Ascent along with 14mm coming next week. Yes, Ascent stem inside of Solo stem. I understand lower end of Solo bowls. There is a PVHES 14mm Solo stem, but I was wondering if the DV would work in both. Could test with normal Ascent stem for answer.
