Go to VEGAS!

See how long $60 last!
Easy to say when you get to test new products for free! I don't gamble, so maybe W9 isn't the company for me anymore..... I have been a long time supporter, since Omi V1, I own multiple Planet Utopia, D9, Warp 9, vapes(and have gifted multiple others to my patients), spent hundreds, maybe thousands on omi carts alone, $60 wasn't the issue, being left out in the cold is!

@ataxian Do you remember the Herc Accessory kit?

Was I the only idiot that thought it would be cool to be able to swap different oils, in the tanks that were offered in this kit! Oh well, too good to be true.

If you get a 601 to 510 adapter the ohm meter should work just fine. Should have scooped one last time I ordered as I have one of those meters on the way, but I will just be using my multimeter until I get the adapter.

Now that's truly planned obsolescence - for my wallet
1). Thank you! I will order one then.

2). GOLF in VEGAS only!

What is the recommended ohm cart/battery combo recommendation for material that is more on the shatter side of the equation? Most of the material I'm working with shatters fairly easily, but also has a little pliability like taffy.

Any experience or recommendations with these type materials in the Persei

be sure to do the foil test-especially with taffies. Always start with 2.4 ohm carts on 3.7 volts, then if you need more or less power, try other cart resistances.

Sorry to come off wrong!

This PACIFIC Ocean Grown OG is one FLAVOR CITY strain.
I'm on the over medicated side of life at the moment!

Please forgive me for sounding harsh!

I bought all the gear as well.
Now I have a glass addiction.

I love flowers however since I have the W9 TECH gear I have to load up on wax otherwise I would just do flowers.

The problem now is I love Concentrates too much.

So I'm stuck doing both.

Seriously I would hate to see you go!
I have had my failures too deal with as well.
I bought 2 HERCULES during the pre-buy.

We have had a bunch of issues with them for sure.
I do feel we are closer to making it even better.
This is the fun part and maybe a bit sadistic?

I'm serious as to how the SR74 performs?

So far the HERCULES SR71 has delivered the flavor and power for complete medication!

If it gets even better?

I still use the 2.4 carts on my OMICRON and OPHOS daily!

What's The foil test?

foil test is putting your material on tin foil, hold a lighter under, if it evaps clean(little to no residue on foil) it's good to use in the carts, if not you will have problems. I would recommend 1.5 ohm on 3.7v for a boost in power, without getting too crazy, just pay attention to pulsing the button and proper cool down.

@ataxian I'm sorry too! Stressful A.M. Don't get me wrong, I love my D9 devices, I just kind of felt like a paying Beta Tester. I will agree there is no flavor like the Bender(proper material of course), no power like the Herc SR-71. There will probably be a spot in my quiver for D9 gear for a long time to come, I'm just not pulling the trigger anymore until I can see the whites of his eyes!

w9 tech is always on that 'next best thing' or 'you thought this was good, stay tuned for something even better'. Been following the company for years and that's the one thing that turned me off, is that there is always something better. Meaning the current offerings are lacking. I thought after sitting out for years it would be safe to jump in on the herc, I was wrong, upgrades are coming.

You never buy computer parts, cellphones, or automobiles, do you?

"OF" will this work to test the HERCULES SR71?

Don't see why not, then again I've never seen 'em together. Worst problem I can see is you might need a spacer or a couple of adapters to stand it off enough? Otherwise, it should spot the right resistance (and not a short or open) like it was designed to......which I guess it was?

I knew somebody would throw that out sooner or later...cop out, imo. No offense Caligula.

I do not think most people(not just FC people) think about "upgrade" cycles when purchasing vapes. It seems like they are looking for the next best thing as opposed to making the "now" thing work best now. I love innovation like the water bubbler carts, but let's get the persei/herc as solid as the mflb/volcano/ssv before moving on.

I've said my peace. Still down with W9Tech, just my :2c:.

The "now" thing only works "best" until something newer and better comes out... which then becomes the "now" thing itself.

This is a reality for basically every consumer product, ever. It just so happens that some products "refresh" a lot more frequently than others (see my previous cop-out examples).

Now you say you want UP Tech to get the Hercules as "solid" as X, Y and Z products before "moving on". Are these changes (upgrades) not taking steps to do just that? Or are you saying that UP Tech dosn't have the resources to tackle more than one product at a time?

But I digress. My Hercules works. It does what it's supposed to. Does it have flaws? Every product does. That's why new models and upgrades exist.

As someone who hasn't watched up tech too closely (but have persei/sr71 in transit to me through a trade) I am pretty surprised that the sr71 is being replaced/upgraded to an sr74 ... I thought this sr71 was a brand new product and it seems that they must have released it to the public a little early if they are already making changes to it.

I'll probably tinker and then trade ... love my RDA/mech mod setups

Yessir! Look around on fasttech.com ... you can get an rda/mechmod setup for under $20 and then kanthal wire is like $10 for 100' and I use stainless steel mesh to make stainless steel mesh wicks. Spend $40 and you should be set up for a very long while. Plus you get to experiment with different ohm setups, different coil configurations, different rdas ... endless possibilities

My current single coil rda:

My current double coil rda:

http://www.fasttech.com/products/0/10004437/1449600-v6-rda-rebuildable-dripping-atomizer

Both have nice free-flowing air intakes so drilling/boring is unnecessary.

Guys, you know how car companies do redesigns to make them more efficient/user friendly? That's all this is. The herc is the same, just easier to assemble, and runs at a sweeter temp. Why is everyone so hung up on it?

I am glad to see continued development, especially when upgrades are available me without buying a whole new unit.

The fact G takes such good care of us cements my fondness this companys products.

Every company upgrades, most don't even make real improvements. I'm stoked with this company, and I've spent 500 in the last 3 months alone...with more issues than anyone else(probably....G can say for sure). Totally worth it. They have consistently gone the extra mile, and I'm very impressed.

We will be doing it in packages. Let's say if you want the new rod, bottom adapter, housing, extra ptfe parts. The only thing we are asking back is the rod.

@Silver420Surfer

We have to price it at a price that we don't cause a financial issue. After all we have to stay in business to support our products.

Not gonna lie, the new tech coming out is getting me hyped about Hercules again, but I have got to see that it works out of box. I'm tired of throwing money at a problem when the problem persists, like thinking the Black Rod was a cure all.

While we're here, I think we should also change the logic of .7 being the buffer for a FULL coil, IME, and by the consensus of most of the posts here, the buffer zone at full coil requires much more. When we say .7 for a full coil, logic would follow that when you cut the coil, you cut the buffer zone. But a 30 or 40 coil has a buffer zone of about .4-.5.

I just think it's best we start addressing the realities of the Herc so we can start having more realistic expectations, and the fact that .7 for a full coil buffer was true of Pure Gold, but not of the more typical wax consistencies, is a big deal cause it has meant more loading and more 'WTF?' until the real sweet spot is found.

Not sure if I'm understanding this properly. Are there upgrade parts coming out for the SR-71 and then shortly after, an all new SR-74 coming out?

Both. The SR74 sports a new top chamber to the heater core, along with other improvements like a new version of white rod.

Some of the 74 parts can be used with the 71, that's the Adjustable Airflow Washer, Ti Coils.

You can think of it like the PS3 to the PS3 slim. Same capabilities, just runs better and more consistently.

As to the whole, "this is so soon for an upgrade!"

Everyone seems to be of the consensus that the Hercules is a great device that always works for them, so why the long face about the upgrade? Upgrade seems to eliminate more user error territory, so if you haven't had user error, why worry? It's not for you if your Herc has been performing.

Unless we can all admit that there has been something lacking from the start? Then the upgrade fees would seem unreasonable.

Good points about incremental upgrades and consumer product refresh cycles. I haven't upgraded my computer in 7 years. Sure every year there is something 'new' but why should that suddenly make my needs change? If I can clearly define my needs as in 'something that checks email and plays video files' and I have something that meets those needs, who cares about 'new'. The same should be true of a vape, 'gets me medicated, isn't a hassle to use' would be the need. If it doesn't meet the needs don't release it. If it does meet the needs, support those who purchased the product you claimed was great by not replacing it asap, or else it kind of makes it look like you weren't entirely honest when you said it was great the first time.

It should be noted that I am huge fan of 'buy it for life' quality items, and dislike planned obsolescence. I understand this view may not fit into w9 techs business model.

I understand your point. W9 reminds me of a software company, in that there's a lots of turnover in their development cycles. You could call it planned obsolescence, or you could call it being a constant innovator. Either way, there's nothing to prevent customers from waiting until a product has the kinks worked out. For instance, the herc upgrades aren't essential to me because I haven't had issues with the sr-71 that an iso bath and reassemble didn't fix.

So if you want a super "stable" product, give new releases some time to get there. If you have to have the new product and can't wait, there might be a few bumps in the road. Early adopters help smooth out those bumps. What is that saying? The early bird gets the worm, the second mouse gets the cheese.

@Atomsk I was always under the impression that a full coil was supposed to hold 1g? In either case, volume and weight are two different things and since everyones meds are different in density, texture, melting point, etc... This is all an approximation anyway.

Basically, YMMV?

@jdee If you want to compare apples to apppes, let me ask you this...

Did you buy a $4000, bleeding edge top of the line, custom built, over clocked, watercooled PC to check email and watch porn movies on, 7 years ago? And if so may I ask why?

Basically, isnt that sort of what you did with the SR71?

But the old white rods are frying heads right, so the sr74 is a must have unless the heads are redesigned and I'm guessing thats not the case or why make the 74 at all.

Basically, YMMV.

Difference here being "hold" vs "buffer." Where "hold" is how much oil it can store, and "buffer" is how much you need in coil before it will start to vape the excess above the buffer.

This differentiation is still key because the Herc was sold as having a ".7 buffer!," when that amount was for use with PureGold. You agree with me, then, that this statement needs to change due to different med quality? That the buffer may in fact require more or less before it will vape efficiently and we need to drop that idea that .7+ will definitely get you running well when it might not?

TRUTH as I see it!
I use the K.I.S.S. cart the most these days.
User error i F^cked up one of my 2 units. (SR71)
When I had it working well the Power achieved was amazing!
Like you I'm looking forward to the 74 improvements.
I have a 2nd SR 71 that I won't even load and I ditto your feelings.
However I just stay with what works for me.

The 2.4 carts I will load with CO2 oil. (OMICRON, OPHOS or SHORTY)
The K.I.S.S cart is my SHATTER dabber. (any device)
Bender for over medicating with flavor. (not a daily carry around town type vaporizer)
TRIPLE PURGED SHATTER for the 74 BETA TRIALS!

Like you I have a NAIL. (Afraid to use it)
Maybe I'll add it to the mix?

I can't smoke joints anymore (Taste makes me sick!)
DUTCH TREAT in a BENDER is my solution!
Until the HERCULES is more stable!
'Tax, you're using a glass mustard jar as a vac chamber but you're afraid of the Almighty Nail? :D

OK low blow!

"OF" already called me out for this.
He's right!
As I will raise my vacuum pressure I just may make this glass jar explode!
My wife who already thinks I'm extreme will roll her eyes!
Now tomorrow I will build a new vacuum chamber using solid materials to with stand the pressures I'm striving to achieve. 5 grams of shatter I want to have on hand for the trials.
Should be enough for scientific exploration?

I have bought all my gear except I think the RED OMICRON which was given to me as payment for some wood work and exotic wood I used. Believe me with my medical condition its hard to do anything these days. I still have drive and determination despite my medical condition.
Fell and crashed last night. (It's not easy sometimes) Did not break my bones like I have before!

For 3 decades I was a straight arrow (Cannabis Free).
However the PHARMACEUTICALS that the UCLA Doctors were giving me were killing me!
Cannabis saved my life!
The W9 TECH gear helps me to maintain my existence.
Money does not and cannot motivate me.

Life you can't buy!

I'm living well and that's all that matters even if you may not like it!
