This would be my first post on fc. So I would like to say to all I have recently gotten into the vape world... I love it for sure... I bought a da vinci vape probably a month ago and here is what I like and things that happened that were draw backs and flaws... So the good... At first I got really thick vape clouds at 385.... But when really dry I'd start at 360 and work my way up... It would heat up pretty quick n stay at the desired heat. Never combusted my herb ever. So that's the good now here's the bad... Straw fell apart.. Appears it gets to hot n was looking like it was melting but just took the housing off the rubber piece n that stayed fine.. Bristles fell out the brush a week after use. DAY 1 my rubber O ring for the charging port fell off and then eventually the port broke n now won't charge on its own, I have to hold it In a position to get a charge while using.... Also battery life is terrible I prolly get 2 sessions outta of this with the help of the charger being connected while heating up.... Temp isn't stabilizing I'll pull and end up being 20 degrees lower and not a strong pull at all. My last problem was the screens getting so gunky so fast I went threw them like hotcakes and I'm a recreational user... I contacted who I got it from and they will replace it if it's defective they said... Which apparently it is I pretty much had all the problems u can have that I've seen on this thread.... Overall for my first vape it was a good experience but this thing pretty much lasted a month and I'm not happy about that but will be sending it in and getting a the warranty return and then gonna sell it and try either the solo or the pax now

Hi Zow and welcome to the FC DV thread. I'm just curious if yours is the newer or the older model (magnetic closure or clasp) ? When they're good they're really good but your bad seems to outway that :>( Straw failure is common moreso in the later model I think. Brushes and batteries I don't know much about but I feel pretty special that I've had mine for over a year and have used it as my main on the go choice pretty well exclusively and my only complaint is it DOES need constant care and cleaning of screens and airways (moreso than any other unit I own (Solo and a V-TOWER). I can live with that for the pleasure it provides. Hope yours works out.

I got the newer model with the magnetic closure... Which won't even stay of anymore cuz it's really lose the casing is a lil seperated... Would u recommend the arizer over the solo I mean I do like performance with the da vinci just a lot of cleaning hassle for sure and I think I just got a bad one so I'll see what happens when I send it in for the return

my cleaning was drastically reduced when I started loading up the oil cans with herb, I put
it on max and get lots of vapor for a good time, when I empty the cans I always get evenly brown abv and I feel accordingly and there is virtually no cleaing, just empty the can, give it a sweep with the brush and presto.

The Solo is made by Ariser. I PERSONALLY don't care for the Solo because for me the draw/intake is too restrictive. By all means send it in for repair/replacement. That's why you always need a backup ;>)

Fine grind I presume ? Does that first top screen stay clear ? I get the same effect filling it directly (no can) medium grind but never go near max temp so save on battery (maybe) but clean more often, if it isn't one thing it's another, lol. Usually start around 365 run up to 385. same toasty brown finish, 10 - 15 minute burn time.

No, it's not. The drill is to edit the extra one down to "please delete" or some such then "Report" yourself using the key in the lower left. The Mods will remove the extra post.

I know this one too well personally, although I think I'm getting better at avoiding it.....not there yet....

I use a regular grind and I put a lid on the can, that way the top screen stays clean too, only some oil build up after awhile but that's easily cleaned. I put it on a higher temp to make sure it gets hot enough in the can.

I wrote DV and asked about this. Rep (name redacted) insists that unit must be turned on to charge:

"The switch on the DaVinci MUST BE TURNED ON to charge. Please contact me if you have any issues preventing you from using the product. Or just contact us directly by phone."

I wrote back stating that this does not seem to be the case, and asked him to try it, but he was adamant that it must be turned on to charge. Go figure....

The rep emailed again, and was incredulous that DV might be incorrect about this. He said he would test charging unit while off, and get back to me.

From DV rep:

I talked with our marketing manager and she advised to me that they changed this charging process in the middle of production. My personal one doesn’t charge if the switch is off. Thanks for giving me this information. I have also informed her about the user manual as well.

True enough, but better than the case where there is no forum to 'keep it real'. Bad advice will happen, the key is to identify it, fix and and not spread it?

All in all I think we do a pretty good job of taking care of each other in this respect? There are many times when I favor experience/advice from Members over claims by makers and dealers.......

It does seem strange that I know more about the product than the rep, but these forums provide a wealth of information that should, but obviously is not taken advantage of by company reps. I usually find that often, with many products, the information from forums is better than from the company making the product.

Hello everyone. This is my first post here, first off let me say thank you all for all your work here.

I mostly smoke blunts, hit the pipe occasionally, and bongs in rare instances. I've also had a few experiences with different vapes: iolite, ploom, volcano and more recently the mflb, though I've never actually owned any of these, I've tried each of them probably 5-10. The iolites and the ploom didn't give me the buzz that i needed, I have pretty high tolerance. The volcano was awesome but not portable. The mflb though impresed me. For such a simple little box, it packed a punch. However... I wouldn't say it was difficult to use, but it took some time getting used to.

One of the reasons why I never bought myself a portable vape was because I didn't think the technology was there yet. After trying the mflb, I decided it was time to buy myself a portable vape. After lurking here for a few days/weeks and doing some research, I was torn between the arizer solo and the davinci. I went with the davinci because of its stealth, and I read that the solo was harder to pull.

I've had the davinci for 2 days now and here's my review:

Literally as soon as I got the davinci (the 2nd version) i took it out and put some flowers and powered that baby on as the battery was factory charged. I was a bit concerned about the possible gasses/rubbery smell/taste some here were talking about, but had no problems.

I packed about half in and took 3 hits @ 350. Clouds of smoke were coming out as I exhaled. I was good. I set it to 360 and took another hit. And another at 370 And one last one at 380. I was goooooooood. Now I've read here that the lower chamber only holds .1g of flower? Is that true? If it is, I can't believe I was ripped after vaping that little. Usually my blunts hold around .4g.

I charged the davinci up overnight, woke up this morning, fired it up again, this time filling it up. I was able to get about a session and a half off it. I'm about to take this outside and go to the grocery store lol.

I have to say I'm very impressed so far by this and I'm satisfied enough to write about it here. My only "problem" with it so far is that it gets pretty hot on a certain part of the device so you need to kinda avoid the area when you hold it. Also, I took the brush out of the compartment and kept it separately after hearing about the brush falling off/breaking while taking it out/putting it in. I also have not used the top chamber nor the oil/has capsules after reading that it doesn't hit well.

Now with that said.. I do have a few questions for all you davinci owners here...

1. Do you guys keep you davinci on all day or do you keep it off and only turn it on when you use it? Aside from battery life, does it matter?
2. What temperature do you start with and end with?
3. How many hits do you get/should you get off a packed lower chamber?
4. How would I vape keif with this? Is this a good idea? Will I get more ripped than if I just sprinkle it on my blunt? Difficult to clean? I don't want my davinci to get gooey gunk on it.
5. Whats the best way to get the highest results (excuse the pun lol) with the davinci. Ingredient/temperature.
6. Does it matter if i use the lower or upper chamber?
7. Any tips/tricks?

It gets too damn hot to leave on.. I ONLY used bottom chamber and i used my oil can lid to keep bud from clogging my screens so fuckin fast. I start on 350 and just keep going til it tastes burnt. I never went over 387 when i had mine. I loved my da vinci but i didnt like my car charger frying my battery. Dont pack tha chamber, just fill it, leaving room for rubbery cap. Clean often. I did my kief in my oil cans, and it did fine.

Why would you leave it on if not using it?

The upper chamber is for storage, not for vaping.

You must experiment with temps, everyone has different choices. Amount of hits depend on how long they are and how hard you draw. Experiment, and you will find out for yourself what works.

The bottom (main) and "top chamber" meant for herbs says da vinci. But its pretty useless. That's why they put a screen right under where the mouthpiece is, and in the upper chamber cap.
