Don't let anyone bring you down, and I'm sorry it came from our community, I promise there's a lot of people here who just want to see you and your product succeed!
:)

True but skepticism and wanting a product to succeed are not necessarily mutually exclusive.

Our community is known for running new product through the FC gauntlet, if you will. What "can" emerge, is a product that is not only better for going through that gauntlet, but also a product whose praises can ultimately be sung louder simply because they proved the naysayers wrong.

Yeah I guess I just never expected it to "equal a desktop vape" because it seems physically unlikely, but IMO it doesn't need to, if it can give Solo or Pax-like hits in a pen format I don't see why that wouldn't be considered revolutionary.

The problem here, JK, is that the expectation that you mentioned above was generated by the manufacturer.

I can understand skepticism, but this is turning into outright pessimism and negativity with a dash of anger. I feel like the Grasshopper crew has already been labeled fraudulent liars before their device has hit the market. For shame. For shame.

I agree completely, skepticism is a good and useful tool. But like this guy said, they have until February to deliver a product, and until that time, people just hating on them is just stupid and useless. All of this hate is simply based on speculations. Honestly, its like yelling at a chef for not making you your meal before you even arrived at the restaurant. Eat the food, then criticize if its warranted.

My advice to the crew at Grasshopper is to keep thick skins. If you're new to business and dealing with the "public", you need to realize that there are all kinds of customers and potential customers out there.

Most people are fair and take a wait and see attitude...but, you will also have a minority that will be impatient, nasty, angry, unreasonable, liars, assholes and even subversive. You know...the cream of humanity.

Again, nothing wrong with healthy skepticism. In fact, it is needed because there are untrustworthy businesses also.

All in all, it is exciting to constantly be part of new ventures in the Vaping world that we all love so much.

Weird, I'm not seeing any hate! Only people expressing skepticism toward impressive claims without quite enough evidence to back it up, for most here. My advice to the Grasshopper team is to not worry about it and work on their next demo and the review units, as that should clear up just about everything. In the meantime, I don't see the harm in skeptical conjecture.

I think it's just the excitement. Everyone wants it to deliver, and they did make a mention about desktop-esque clouds/hits. Now that the funding is out of the way were ready to see it develop and are now paying more attention to every detail.

We have too much time on our hands :)

Good luck to GH, don't mind us... We're anxious and a little enthusiastic about vaporizers ;)

@darkrom,

I too am a bit skeptical about their claims of being comparable to deskto, but do you not believe that the two videos are proof of concept? That's a prototype we're seeing. I mean, the 2nd video, the user clearly put their lips on the unit. Am I missing something? Isn't this shown to work?

Or are you not a skeptic on functionality, but performance? Because I'm skeptical of performance, but IMO, the proof of a working model that produces vapor is in the 2nd video.

What is the problem ? : we only need the GH to perform as a cloud (whose works) and to be stealthy as MFLB in the same pen body …..

nothing more ….

(I'm gone)

That's what we're talking about! The GH should not be weak, but very powerful, and one that could make vapor like desktops. We are unsure about these claims, and if the manufacturer claims it to be true, show us! Get the unit out there to reviewers this week so there are 2 weeks for the reviews to be on the indiegogo. Compare some vapes (I would like to see Solo and EQ or V Tower (which is it btw?) against the GH).

Proof is what we desire.

Even if you think you are joking, asking to beta test is against the rules.

  • Do not ask about being a beta tester or ask about freebies.

I wasn't asking. I was demanding. ;)

But yeah, I just couldn't pass posting up that gif. It was just too funny. Made me giggle when I first saw it. Didn't even think about the rules though. My bad.

i think everyone wants this gorgeous vape to change the game, but we have heard all kinds of claims on this forum. and there are many examples justifying the skeptics.

Like us, you most likely feel that there isn't a single portable vape out there that combines an elegant form factor with high performance. From the videos we've already shown, you can see it has those two things.

well youve def got the elegant form factor down, but high performance? i find it a stretch to say the videos weve seen has proven high performance. it seems it has good performance though. maybe i need to watch them again i dont know... not hating. pulling for the GH either way, but youve got your work cut out for you with this bunch.

Yes... the minority... :D

You've just described FC in a nutshell, and we're damned proud of it.
I think everyone has the whole spectrum from hero to villain inside them, life is such a shade of grey, but that's what makes it fun ;)

I don't know man, I've hit my buddies Arizer V-Tower and that first video looked similar in performance to me. And the second they were specifically asked here on FC to make a video with shorter, low temp hits. At very least it is significantly better than my MFLB and looks like it could quite easily equal my solo. That's plenty for me.

I feel like this thing is getting compared to the cloud all the time and I hope I'm not the only one who feels like that's crazy. I mean, maybe if you pull it through water you could get close but I would cough like a sissy bitch hitting that out of a tiny metal pipe. Ain't no stealth at that point.

It's also worth noting that we have only seen it turned upto 80%. If it hasn't been already shot I strongly recommend to Trevor and Conrad that they film a segment with the power maxed. My ideal video would be load a fresh load at 20% and take 3 or 4 long drags. Then dump, reload, repeat at 40%, 60%, 80% and 100%. I don't care about the angle because I wouldn't want to film my face committing a felony either.

Most recently I got an interesting answer to a question I'd first posed here yesterday

I actually came here to post this initially, I thought it was really, really, interesting. Didn't notice the name over on reddit. I don't own a cera but my understanding is that the mouth piece has a spiral design internally that cools it. I can really see the at least theoretical logic behind the same idea applied in reverse.

Every vape I've ever used is focused on a single point of critical heat. The ceramic rod in the the Buddha, Hot plate and screen in the solo and MFLB that super heats the air that then quickly cools. Now if they are creating an artificially long path and applying constant heat the entire way through. Certainly with high end 3d printing the idea isn't crazy. There shouldn't even be that much heat to radiate.

I also thought people who were worried about where it would be made that at least the heater is confirmed to be stateside.

conradvapor

Hi. The 3d printing is being done by another company is the US for us!
