What's the difference between an Ion Bubbler and a Clear Bubbler besides the size of the base?

Wow those Ions are smaller that I imagined (even though the one in your pic was sitting next to a coffee mug). How much bigger is the Clear and would it work as good as your Ion does with a Solo?

Here ya go @Hoof Hearted

I made a cutting plane draw of different pieces. It is something i missed when i was trying to compare them side by side.

The 65T and 65B are made from pictures so the measures are approximate. Everything else is accurate.
For more convenience, i've made straight junction when it was actually more round.

Maybe i should remove the Black Leaf and Arizer since it is a Mobius thread but it give a scale if you own one of them.

...I had a piece with a showerheadhead dewar and would run a showerhead downstem inside the joint. Aside from reducing the stem, it also makes cleaning much easier...

That's a fair enough point, I picked up a cheap set of pipe cleaners ages ago, and the largest one cleans out my 18mm bubbler downstems super quickly and easily.
(pretty much these)
A bit of iso and a run of the brush cleans out the downstem super quick.
Or after a PBW (You were close ;)) wash it'll dislodge any remaining bits quick and easy.

...
Jus want some opinions. Thanks

If you'd like any suggestions for non-mobius pieces that belong right along with them in a collection, let me know.
There are a few pieces (well, I'm sure there are many, but there are a few I've owned) that I think compliment the function and aesthetics of a mobius piece quite nicely.

.....

My clear matrix is my favourite piece of glass.
Not just my favourite möbius, my favourite piece period.
...

Same here. That one is just perfect. I want to pick another one up just as backup.

The Ion is nice too, some of my buddies even prefer it over the Clear, but I always grab the bigger one when I'm by myself. The volume is perfect for me, and I like how it feels in the hand.

Sorry if this is a basic question, kinda new to the glass game. But whats the deal w using hot water and then cold real quick while cleaning your piece? I know thats a no-no, from the temp change and could crack the glass. But I heard something about how people are using better glass now...preferably the top companies....that prevents this? Is their any truth to this?

Thanks......jw cuz im always hesistant when cleaning my glass to make sure I dont do this. And didnt know if I was doing all that for nothing. Theres a common sense factor obviously ..from not just having hot ass water then turning it right to cold as ice right away.....Im not that dumb but jw about the basics.

I dont wanna switch this thread to non-Mobius pieces......so sorry to anybody offended by this question and if its outta context.

But one piece that has always caught my eye is the - Sov Peyote Pillar and Stem 8...........how would you compare that to the 60t? Thanks

I blasted thought the joint of my mobius with a spray of hot steam to see it bubble and see if I could clean it that way. I thought water couldn't go over 100°C that should be ok. Dumb. The piece was cold when I did it.

Fair question with an easy answer. It's difficult to compare; Apples & Oranges. The 60t, Pillar, & Stem8, are quite different in function/design from one another. Each of those SG pieces are smooth hitters, & both models are larger in volume than a 60t (which should be considered). :myday: No more off-track post; on to some mobius-centric rants & questions.

Speaking of comparisons, or lack thereof, I have always been curious as to what the RETI perc hit like. Particularly in one of the micro bubblers. I happily received my Clear Micro RETI Bubbler last evening. 2 Thumbs Up for KULTURE, I recommend shopping with them. Anyways, I had always assumed that the pull on a RETI would be similar to a circ.
I am still not 100% adjusted to the large volume of this bubbler, & need to find my preferred/best water-level. Any suggestions would be welcome on water level. As of now, I am still unable to describe it. I feel I haven't 'tapped in' to its full potential, yet . To be continued...

I fill my Clear Reti Bubbler somewhere between the very top of the glass reticello and just above where the perc meets the fixed downstem, depending on what I'm desiring.

With water filled just above the reticello (glass slits), I get a nice easy hit, zero drag, immense flavor....

and with water just above the entire perc, I get a satisfying mini-chug w/ great diffusion & without a mouthful of water upon clearing.

Fill the bubbler lower, and the water doesn't bubble; fill it higher, and it's too chuggy (you'll get a mouthful of water, or the air pressure can blow your herb out of your bowl, etc.) The distance between these two points is not great, maybe .5 to .75 inches from top of slits to top of perc.

Edit: Personally, I tend to stay in the middle of these endpoints, maybe leaning towards the mini-chug, both because I prefer the feel/sound and because I use Rezblock and find that the better stacking of bubbles keeps my piece cleaner.

Thanks, and yeah this prolly isnt the best place to be asking questions about Sov......in a Mob thread.

Ive heard people w the Reti...and like myself "Ion" fill it up to the ending tip of SoCal....out of the state but on the line...I get a nice lil chug......and no water ever comes up the mouthpiece. Got me thinkin tho....all the logos and Reti are all prolly a lil differnt in size and the placement of the sandblasted logos. . Maybe I need to try it w less water from the sounds of it.

My Mobius Matrix clear bubbler just came in from the ALT sale. I have not found any defects. Too bad I don't have an EVO yet but I plan on milking this baby very very soon with my enano.
NICE PICK UP! I am quite jealous, as I feel I need to grab one of those, after enjoying the size of the Reti.
I am ready to give my review of my new Reti Clear Bubbler; took a lot of testing & assorted adjustments. I was not used to its large volume, but this is something I was seeking. In short (because I am in the middle of using it:rockon:): I LOVE THIS PIECE! This thing was a steal, & is a beasttttttttt. Me gusta

I am beyond excited. Just made my first glass piece purchase, in over 8 years! Picked up the stemless Mobius Stereo Matrix Bubbler (65B) from the ALT sale after checking 3x a day since it started. The wait is going to kill me.

If you'd like any suggestions for non-mobius pieces that belong right along with them in a collection, let me know.

Any pieces you could PM me to start looking for now that I finally made my first purchase!, already wondering what the next step should be!

Wow, love to see this! Congratulations! You're going to be so happy with your Mobius. I have the ION and the 60T and can say for certain that any Mobius piece will be great but, IMO, for straight functional beauty, its hard to beat the 65B. WTG.
