Organalab's O-pen Vape pen and disposable c02 carts

I see where you're coming from and understand the message, but I do have

I got a CE4 cartridge as well as the quad-coil cartomizers from D9V (same form factor as the normal extract carts - Nibbler X works with it too, lol) so try to "legitimize" my Persei and been seen using it around work to get people used to seeing that device (though I might use it to different ends off work hours), but I'd say 3/5 people who notice it who are smoking outside flat out ask if you can smoke pot out of it -- quite a disturbing trend especially when one of those asking runs your entire company unit. Time to back down a little (though I would have raised the battle standard earlier in life, not so much when my paycheck is involved anymore).

Organlabs lists no businesses partners or contacts in Washington, but locally, Sound CO2 is cranking out the cartridges which I've found in at least three locations. Each cartridge shows the name of the donating garden, so if I'm overly fond of something, I can usually track down the same flowers it came from. (They claim a high percentage of popcorn nuglets in addition to sugar trim - extraction is typically done with wet trim, so by the time this hits the shelf, the flowers themselves usually have a couple more weeks cure time before they hit the shelves).

This is true of the higher quality BHO which usually come from the direct source as well, but I found this concept of garden-to-product much more meaningful to me than using the Pure Gold product, which seems like the Kroger Cost-Cutter brand of concentrates at caviar prices (BHO being Coca-Cola and CO2 extracts being like RC Cola... disclaimer: I do like RC Cola). (Though I haven't tried doing this, I do have a friend that swears by topping off with PG in none-piney strain cartridges to give it longevity and kick, which imo makes it an expensive cartridge indeed!)

I'm not sure what type thread (not 510 or 601) this vape is using, but I know it's a standard as a co-worker's ejuice cartridge plugged right in to the O.Pen battery and looked and worked the same (except his battery had a button), so I am getting a "legit" cartridge to complete the "cover" (with non-nicotine ejuice), as it really is just an e-cig, given that it's an e-cig with an up-and-coming high volume cartridge distribution system.

So a niche product? I'm split as to whether or not I would recommend this a primary vape. I'm hesistant about PG-anything (as in not Pure Gold but the ejuice mixer), but this truly is a "clean" vape with almost zero learning curve. If dosage is just occasional, it just works. If used only for travel, it just works. Zero mess - you don't touch the actual load. At all. No buttons to learn a flute method with - you just.. breathe. Metered dose? It turns off after a few seconds automatically. What do you have to do? Occasionally charge the battery or change the cartridge. And you can use as an e-cig. An e-cig with a stylus tip for my tablet and smart phone.

Personally, even though the technology is piggy-backing and not even evolutionary, the usability aspects and stealthiness are what have my interest. So though it's boring in almost every possible aspect, it's still a great solution for certain problems.

Even if the supply dries up tomorrow, I basically got the battery for free, so I'll just shrug and move on. Currently it is providing some value to me, so I'll just take it as it comes ;)
I see where you're coming from and understand the message, but I do have an Omicron V2 and the full Persei line of toys and was planning on using this as a stealth travel alternative. I've been using the poofy caps D9V sells online (much better than the tiny white caps IMO) while storing, but there is still quite the odor that lingers, depending on the freshness and quality of the BHO. Using a tube actually makes it worse since it stores up and gives off a very strong whiff when opened. For short trips, I'm finding this O.Pen Vape much more preferable because even the vapor itself doesn't smell nearly as strong, and while I have my legal status and all, I prefer not to advertise. So, for me at least, this has been working out better, while perhaps not as fun ;)

After trying a second 510 adapter, I've come to the conclusion that they are indeed 510 thread cartridges, evidently just a bit different somehow it didn't fit my other adapter. Ditching the stupid second battery that quit working as well and have it on my Omicron now :) This actually works better for me, methinks :science:

I see 'em all the time at the club I go to... cut-down tincture, and you're paying $25 for a QUARTER GRAM!! For double that, I can get a gram of uncut CO2 oil... And Blue Dream is a sativa-dominant hybrid.

I showed 'em my UltraDART and minds were blown (and lit ;))

I can get mad vapors with my ejuice, but that's because it's a PG/VG blend.

At least you won't be getting ripped off anymore

Also, nice to see a fellow SD stoner!

So, I've picked one of these up, though it is completely branded differently, I see in the photos that I have the same pen vape.

Mine is a "WAM Oil" pen with replaceable atomizer. I have hit it about once every couple of hours since I got it, and I am, actually, getting some benefits.

This will not be my "daily driver"... but it will help with travel, and vaping at work, and being discreet when somewhere not private and I need to medicate. If I never get another tank for it, it's still okay - I'm in learning and experimenting phase, where I'm trying to determine the best method of medicating for my issues - this is an option. :)

Hey guys, been lurking on this site for a long time. First post. Been using my O.pen for almost a year now. When I first got it the glycol was a concern some of my friends let me in on; but nobody seems to know the real health risks with that yet. After spending quite a lot of time with the pen I have to say for a portable piece it's still my favorite. The battery life is excellent, only needing 2 charges to go through a whole gram cartridge. I bought this because the simplicity can't be beat. No buttons, no mess, or torches make it wonderful when using it out of the house or at the movies or a concert. It's especially useful at the beach or at Bear shredding where it's too windy and annoying to mess with lighters. The other thing I really like is the gram cartridge makes it so you never need to do any reloading which should be the point in a stealthy travel vape. On a trip to the mountain the G Pen takes too much reloading, might as well roll a joint. The O.Pen is basically an electric joint, and for what it tries to do I think it does it well. When I first bought it I was skeptical of cartridge based vapes due to availability such as the Trippy Stik and some of those other ones. I've had my O.pen for a while and there is a great availability of cartridges now.

Some of the downsides is the hits definitely are not as large for someone used to going off a nail. The fact it has long battery life offsets this for me but really heavy users should probably look elsewhere. Like I said, think of it more as an electric joint.

Also, maybe mine is defective but the USB charger it came with is not very accurate. If you wiggle the pen while it is charging the light can go from red (charging) to green (done) so sometimes it's hard to tell what the battery is actually doing since there is no battery level indicator on the pen. Loose connection.

All in all, really like this pen for stealth and travel. However, lots of lurking on here has me now on the list for a Heat Island for home. I only use premium flowers so I want to get a vape that will let me use my own blend as the "salad trim" oil that people say concerns me. Trying to get away from the butane so not as much into the wax rigs anymore but still haven't seen a portable flower vape that rocks. Wish companies would do more R&D and bring out a unit that actually works instead of rushing to market with something they haven't tested long enough to fix the many faults soon to appear. The Pax looked perfect. So did the Puffit and a lot of others though. Hoping the ZenPen delivers, really got my eye on that. Really would like to try the Bholt; too.

Last little bit of TrainWreck clinging on. I try to reserve the pen for travel now but a quick puff of vapor before bed is a favorable midnight snack of mine.

Cheers,
V

Does anyone know what type of pen the O.pen is rebranded from? Can't seem to find any information anywhere on it.

It is the Buddy Tech Bud Touch. Search "bud touch starter kit" and you will find them. It is actually the same cartridges and battery. It is just a 510 battery, any will work. i do like the 5 second cutoff, it doesn't let the cart get too hot.

The carts can be found at gotvapes.com. Check out the 'Best clearo for pure gold' thread in Concentrates, Haywood turned us on to the Sapphire cartridges. I use them with pure gold and with the OL CO2 syringes.

I have been using an O Pen for the last few months and love the shit out of it. Insanely stealthy. I am just about to switch to an e-cig + cartomizers soon to try that out. Either way I will always use this thing for concerts / festivals. Very easy to sneak inside.

Looking for alternatives, though. I have globes, too. I hoping the cartomizer setup will be optimal for me. I plan on buying syringes and squeezing them into the carts.

PROS:
Small and stealthy. Can easily be put almost anywhere to be hidden from view.
Taste. I like the taste of the strains. Each is different. My friends disagree, though.
200 hits from the $50 cartridge.
Little smell. I have been walked in on just after using it and nobody expected a thing

CONS:
No way to tell when the battery is low
Cartridges can leak. I have had 2 in a row of the same strain start leaking.
Low cartridge + battery with little charge = weak hits

So you can just empty the syringe in to one of those carts and it works just as well?

They work well and the syringes are pure co2 oil with no PEG. The o.pens are a 50/50 mix of PEG and CO2 oil.
.

Sweet. I just need to find a dispensary in OC that sells syringes at a decent price. I've seen $20 for .5 gram. Weedmaps search SUCKS.

I have been baffled searching for converting the BLU e-cig to my o.pen-vape cartos, then I ran in to this. post.
you are 100% correct. I was turned on the same cardos from gotvap, the sapphire. This is the same thing and I am sold 100%. tetralabs or organalabs. The best pure form of the medecien. I also include a nice review about this openvap device for us the read http://www.medicaljane.com/review/the-o-pen-vape-portable-vaporizer/.

I use the tanks with my converted system. I don't recommend there batteries at all. The cardos are 2.0 ohms so it needs a constant 3 volts to effectively atomize. I use my Vision mini spinner at 3.2 volts and its flawless. The tanks never leak and I fly every week with no leakage of any kind. the best cardos are the sapphires. and weather you have pure gold in it or openvape which is strain specific that's hands down the best pen system ever.

Blu's threading has inverse polarity iirc so only their carts would work on the batteries.

interesting, because my curiosity came directly of there popularity and use by celebs. I have been wanting to find the ultimate stealth device that looks legate. its a research project of sorts so I am open to all suggestions.

I've been using the o-pen for a couple weeks now, and I like it. It doesn't replace smoking herb by any means, but it's a great tool in my efforts to taper off and potentially quit for a duration.

Just for kicks, I slapped a cartie on my wife's BLU battery, and it worked! I was able to get a longer, fuller pull off of it actually

The BLU battery doesn't limit you to a 8-second pull, and in my opinion the hit itself is more dense. And, it's quite a bit shorter.

I picked up an O.penvape recently and Cherry Pie, Super Silver Haze and Sour Diesel cartomizers.
I am impressed with the simplicity and ease of use of this device.
It joins my PAX, Firefly and Arizer Solo in rotation.
I am just curious if anybody knows why some O.pen's have a white O.penvape logo and others have black logos which almost cannot be seen.
Is one type newer than the others?
I also noticed that the newer carts have a 'Best when used by..." date on them now.

well, they only had 2 when I tried them a year ago. Green logo was for Hybrid and Red was Sativa. Go to there web side and check it out. http://www.organalabs.com/ also another system is the "Pure Gold" http://tetralabs.com/

Yea that is on the cartomizer itself. There is green for hybrid, red for sativa and purple for indica.
The white logo that I am talking about is on the battery itself, where it says "Openvape".
It seems that maybe the newest ones have a black logo, while the older ones have the white logo.
This is what I am trying to confirm.

After seeing some questions online about places relabeling BHO as CO2 (since BHO is cheaper to make), is it certain that Openvape is CO2?

Enjoy the loss of gravity.
Amigos,

Been using O-pen's for almost a year.
Lowdown. Battery, charger, and cart.
I buy empty carts and fill with 100% Co2 extract. Under mouthpiece small removable soft plug- - remove then insert syringe and fill-- REPLACE soft plug and mouthpiece.

At the other end of the cart tank is a fglass wick. Let oil sit in cart for a hour or more so wick can saturate. On my latest, let it sit overnight just to be sure. Charge batt- attach and enjoy.

Do not leave outside in a car overnight if you expect below freezing temps... It will start leaking.

O-pen is modifying and improving the penvape. The latest models have a larger wick for better straight oil use. I'm a medical card holder, this pen has been a quality of life saver for me.

There is never a reason to buy PG cut oil.
That is all.... Enjoy

It's cut with glycerine, don't buy watered down Kool-Aid!
It has to be thinned to feed easier! If anything they thin too little. Where do people get this "cut 50/50"? But their polyethylene glycol has a distinct taste. If only it WE'RE thinned with Glycerin (VG)! But oils dont blend as well with VG.

I have had 4 O-Pen Vape carts so far and the taste and thickness have varied hugely. When they feed ok and they used decent material it's very practical. The res is around 2 ohms, the thread is a std. 510, works with all the standard battery bobottoms. They look like Sapphire Buddy cartos. I'm struggling with one now, dry hits really taste bad, not sure how to improve the feeding, trying warming a bit.

The liquid has ranged from clear golden to opaque dark greenish. The clearer the better on average.

@OF does your Omicron vape un thinned BHO?

Not sure why but the OPenVape carts have only once been strong enough. It's not dilution, as I said I find them a bit underthinned to flow well. I guess very simply that the underlying plant matter isn't top shelf flower for some obscure reason :-)

Between the taste and the performance it's been meh. I still dream of a good tasting strong hit e-cig based solution.

So the Sapphire cart they use can work with plain clear oil?
