Gratz @Unconnected. I got my SSV around the same time as my friend got his EQ. Even as a vapor noob I could see that the SSV was the far superior vaporizer. Bigger hitter with better taste. I don't care for bags so I never thought twice about the extra $50 or so I spent over this cost of his unit.

You're gonna love your new vape... perhaps too much :ko: ;) :)

Ok FC team, vaep report.

Some how australia post, literally the developed worlds most ineffective postal service, often taking days and weeks to get shit to different major cities unless you pay them a lot. Anyway, some how, they managed to get my SSV from australianvaporizers.com.au in brisbane to me in sydney in 16 hours after payment on the website, awesome, if any aussie is reading this and needs a shop to get a vape, austvapes is literally the only place, literally.

Anyway.
I love the packaging, the bag is great for holding all my bud related gear, including thermovape cera. awesome. The unit itself is great, i have the black vein model with a black base, very nice looking and feeling unit with the hammer tone enamel finish, no fancy glass yet, and using the standard wand system.

Summation: unit is awesome, hits very hard, im getting far far more stoned this morning than i was last night with my extremQ, after less bowls as well, you just seem to be able to get a more complete vaporization and way less loss, i feeel like the elbow right angle in the extremeQ makes you condense a tone of vapor. This silver surfer is the shit, definitly impressed i am so high and i vaped it like an hour ago, its literally been weeks since i was this high, that is a combination of being unable to get good weed for about 2 weeks, but i had 2 days of good weed and extreme and i was not feeling satisfied and i wasnt medicated enough (i have chronic insomnia, my choices are bud, daily benzo's or 4 hours sleep and then probably some crazy disease when im 35, its not a hard choice to make) Anyway, i feel like the ssv is really capeable of getting my stoned the extremeQ can only get me high, then it fades and i have to keep vaping.

Big fan. get one, if your pov, buy a defecated unit from 7thfloor they are like half price nearly

If you got the Ssv with the GonG wand, try it in your Eq cyclone bowl just for the hell of it. I did this and I was pleasantly surprised by how much better the vapor quality was. I think using the elbow in the eq through the narrow tubing restricted the air flow too much.

Alright folks, just wondered if anyone can give me any advice.
I bought myself a SSV today, after my DBV gave out on me, but after getting home and having a few blasts on it, im pretty gutted.

Firstly, I dont like how I have to hold the wand in, so I got a hands free and I cant seem to get it flush most of the time, it seems a right pain in the arse and because of this. I am not getting much out of it hardly and it makes a whistling noise a lot lol.
One of the things l liked about my old vape was that I could do something and hold the mouth peice in my mouth when I was not using the cooler and Its just not worth doing with the SSV because it goes so quick or it whistles and I cant get a decent pull.
I seem to cane the stuff twice as quick too, I cant get anything off really small amounts and I have to stir it after nearly every toke, whereas with the DBV i was only stirring it after it stopped giving me vapour, which was like ten or more tokes, my stuff just does not seem to last very long at all and its not getting me anywhere near as medicated as the DBV was.
I keep telling myself that Im going to stick with it and I realise It will take some getting used to, but I am on the verge of sending it back and just going with a DBV again as it seemed so much less stress than this thing.
I find myself juggling trying to hold the water cooler, while i pull out the hands free and give it a stir, all the bloody time and its doing my head in.
Any tips will be greatly appreciated im getting stressed out instead of nicely battered !

Far as the hands-free plate with the standard wand goes: I ended up bending the plate. The arms are quite malleable with some pliers. I ended with the arms bent quite far in on the bottom and splayed out as they got closer to the top. TBH I don't use the HF anymore.

For thicker hits I'd look back through this thread. Your HC may not be pushed down all the way or you may need to change the heat setting.

If you'd like big hits from small amounts of material you can use Tweak's EQ dome screen mod (numerous pics/mentions over the last quarter of this thread).

Otherwise you can always get a GG wand/HC like the DBV has. Or (like you mentioned) just go back to the DBV if that's your preference.

The "hands free" SSV setup is not the same as the DBV.
The DBV wand is wide open, as is it's HC
While the SSV Ground Glass HC is wide open, the SSV Ground Glass wands neck is minorly restricted.
This calls for a mildly different draw technique.
Give it a couple of days and you will hardly remember the DBV.

Cheers for that, i forgot, someone else told me to bend it a bit too, I feel much better now, knowing that I can leave it in.
Been re-reading some earlier posts, I do think its just my drawing technique, and Vitolo saying that confirms it for me too I reckon, thanks !
Il report back.

When I make my QWISO can I have my stems in there too or would it be a waste? I have all of my stems mixed in with my AVB but I could easily pick them out if they'd be better used somewhere else.

I'm really hoping to make some good QWISO oil this time, hopefully. I've occasionally thrown some wand hash and regular bud in with my AVB just to up the potency of the product.

My SSV clicks on around 4 and heats up around 11 but will only stay red for about an hour. When I go to 12/1 it will stay red infinitely. Is this normal?

Also, anybody have a good website for buying screens?

i recently picked up some silicon tubing and a mini wand for my standard ssv after deciding against an lsv hc/wpa for my ssv to use with water.

i would definitely recommend the mini if you have a standard ssv. herb is closer to heat and bowl size is greatly reduced. the screen it comes with is also alot finer and set in tighter so no particulate gets thru.

i believe only vapor warehouse carries them, $14 for just the wand, currently free shipping on all orders.

and DW, i would recommend an adapter, only like $10 instead of jamming the tube in your bong.

My SSV has been setup dozens of ways, but I love standard best.
This video shows my routine when I wake up.
I follow the same exact 90 second procedure day after day.
Although I own more vapes than most people, I still go to my SSV when I open my eyes in the morning.
A minute and a half.
90 seconds, to allow me to face the day.

Saw a sick ass slightly stoopid/cypress hill wrapped SSV the other day... do want... I understand that they're able to do custom graphics as well....

very similar to this:

I'm thinking of coming up with some custom graphics and seeing what they can do for my next one...

Hi Everyone. New to the forums, but not new to the SSV. I've had this thing for a couple of months and the carrying bag is starting to stink like crazy. It's gotten to the point where the bag stinks up every room its brought into. Anyone else have a situation like me? How'd you get the smell out? I tried to rape the bag with ozium but the smell returned.

Really? "Rape" the bag?
You could have found a more tactful way of wording that.

...but no, my bag does not stink whatsoever and my SSV and wand spends a lot of downtime in its bag. I dont see why it would be unsafe to wash the bag in your clothes washer, but maybe someone else would like to chime in on that first
