Tried contacting seller/cancelling order for a week now and not gotten any replies as of yet, anyone else having more luck?

Don't worry, I'm pretty sure you have abundant recourse through paypal and ebay.

eBay/PayPal doesn't know or care about the situation between this seller and VXL, and if you're just looking to cancel due to buyer's regret you may not get much help from the buyer protection plan. A defective product may be a different story, even if the seller says no warranty-no returns.

Ya know all the good stuff we eat and then turns into waste (poop) and the LAST thing we want to be associated with is the left over, useless, dirty, smelly crap that we dump in the toilet every day?

I pronounce the name of the vape that is being sold on Ebay as.................

"Monkey Shit"
"Where the lines between vapor and farts are forever blurred."

I don't think what this e-bay seller is doing is right at all, let's make that perfectly clear.

But on the other hand, it's great that we can all sit back and enjoy a laugh about how shitty this product is! But if you own a cloud+ this guy made your fucking unit!

There wasn't a time when they were being produced correctly, they were made this poorly the entire time. This isn't a "bad batch". The beat up assembly, the bad electronics smell etc have all been reported right from the beginning.

If this is a "different model" than the cloud plus I was sold, as has been claimed, I'm going to need some proof on that. Until then, what I see is a company continually backing away from a product I have a two year warranty on.

That is actually a good point, that many people bought these shitty cloud+'s made by the same guy for hundreds more. The only difference being the warranty you get for a few hundred dollars extra. But the part that sucks is my friend has a cloud+ that he is thinking he is going to get repaired under warranty "some day" but it is my impression that that is unlikely to happen. He did buy an evo which was smart of him since VXC will take great care of him on that and they can do that since its in house, but I'm really starting to wonder if he will ever get his other one purchased from VXC warrantied at all.

I know these ebay ones aren't up to VXC's quality control standards (and nor should they be) but at the same time neither were the legitimate cloud+'s that they sold directly, which is what caused them to dump this buffoon and start making them in house in the first place.

On a side note my ebay cloud+ comes today and I'll have to see how it goes. If mine is dead or excessively shitty I'm not afraid of an ebay/paypal battle with the seller.

I wonder what would happen if all the people with legitimate, dead Cloud pluses that currently have no warranty recourse suddenly all bought one of these, then, the moment it arrived, swapped guts (or just the piece of the casing with the serial number) between units and immediately filed a Paypal claim for a dead-on-arrival unit, claiming a refund back? The listing may say there's no warranty, but that doesn't mean Paypal would let them get away with sending out DoA units. You could pretty damn confidently assume they'd decide on behalf of the buyer in that case, but Paypal/eBay has always traditionally favoured buyers over sellers anyway.

Net result:
VXL customer's Cloud is restored to working order, which is currently not possible through any other avenue.
The repair is paid for by the people that made it so it'd fuck up in the first place, rather than VXL.
Customer is only out the same amount of effort they'd have to go through doing the legitimate RMA process anyway.

Sounds pretty good, doesn't it?

...

But this is purely theoretically, of course. I'm not specifically advocating mass fraud (even if it's to redress a previous mass fraud), and people need to follow their own moral compass, blah, blah, blah. I will say I would certainly personally find it amusing if such a thing were to occur, though...

Pretty sure that is called fraud.

Pretty sure that is called fraud.

I don't really see what this as adding as I made the same observation myself, but anyone actually commiting such fraud would be doing so to acquire something they're legitimately owed (a reliable, functional unit), from the exact entity that was supposed to be responsible for providing it. The units they actually provided do not appear to be reliable at all.

To me it sounds more like a letter of the Law determination than something in the spirit of the Law.

If a few people bought them and immediately claimed them as "counterfeit" as above, the listing would probably get pulled by eBay. Just link to some of the VXL posts saying that this is separate company selling merchandise with their branding falsely on it. Knowing eBay, they won't even look at it until a buyer complains; VXL could shout themselves blue sending all sorts of communication via every possible channel (and I imagine they already have) but I wouldn't expect eBay to do anything at all until one of their precious buyers has an issue of some sort, because there's nothing in it for them otherwise.

This has the advantage of being 100% legal, but doesn't help any of the people who currently are sitting on broken Clouds because of these guys. It also screws over low income folks for whom this might have been their only chance to own a high end vape.

I am new to the blog forum and have been reading all the threads on the cloud. I am interested in buying one of the cheap units to see what all the hype is about. I have a quick question that someone might answer. On the photos shown of bad heaters on other threads there seems to be 2 different heater, but all I can tell different is that there is a blue "patch" over the lead area connection.
does anyone know why? and if so has there been failures of the unit or not? if not what do you think the blue stuff is?

I know a lot of people here have used the above rationale for buying one of these, but I gotta ask, will you really find out what the hype is all about if you buy this rather than the EVO? Is trying to find out how good the Cloud really is by purchasing one that has known defects and operates to sub-standard levels, really going to give you a sense of how good the Cloud really is?

I thought the cloud + was a crowd pleaser other than the fact that they had a penchant for dying. And the other forum members on here with prior OG and + experience who purchased one of these Clouds seems to have stated it worked as it should. Unless i misunderstood to them.

I have no experience with a cloud prior to this. I can tell you it seems to work as described. Eve extraction, thorough extraction, huge fucking clouds, fastish heat up time. Gets me ripped like I am a lil school boy. And i fact it works so good that I am gonna probably keep it as my knock out punch and not be able to use it as my day vape. Oh and I am gonna save up for an EVO. If this thing I bought is defective I'd love to hit a non-defective one. Cause this sure is damn good!

Edit: Oh and these plus units that were likely manufactured by the same inept people are being sold in legitimate channels sanctioned by VXL for $450.00. Probably will get warranty once SM starts re honoring warranty. At this point I am thinking of it as me saving $350 by being too cheap to buy the warranty. Also why by a plus for 450 when you can have evo for 500

Jeff, I appreciate your input. it seems that the leads falling off would have a simple solution.

Unless it's DOA it should provide good info on what kind of hit it can provide, but if it dies on you, that's not reflective of what VXL is currently producing. You'll also need to get some ELB's since the seller has none (and VXL is currently sold out).

lazylathe

Almost there...
I may just buy one if they are still available to see how long it lasts and when it does actually break i can disassemble it and see if i can spot weld or laser weld the heater connections.
Our new laser welder does it's job at a much lower voltage and temperature so it may actually work!

If the repair works and holds it may be a quick and easy fix for other units that have failed.
And that is a BIG IF!

What i really want is my EARLY BIRD EVO!!!!!
