Now here's a set up that made me nervous to take a picture of. Had a spotter though.
Just goofing around but worked OK sitting on a low stool between my legs. Definitely a two hander.
Shows how fun the Solo can be.

I have noticed some other things, the Solo won't start heating up if you select a higher number than that of the battery charge. You must select the number or a # below the current charge for it to start heating up. After it get's hot, you can eventually select higher temps. I don't know if this is common knowledge or a peculiarity on my unit. Aside from that, it has been getting daily use for about 2 weeks now and so far so good!

Hey Will B. Good,

I have a 3 month old Solo (M1B1) and I have always been able to set the heat at a higher level than the current charge (as long as charge 6 or less).

I remember doing it many times, including a few times yesterday when I did a test to see how many full sessions i could get off a full charge. I was some vaping some very fine fresh machine hash (hash harvested from a trimming machine) in cotton in my 7th and last bowl, which I set to 6 when the charge was 2. By the way, I got 7 full 12 minute sessions.

You may wish to contact Arizer about being unable to set the temp > current charge. I'm pretty sure it's not supposed to be that way.

Not all M1C1 units are bad. I have had mine now for over a month with no problems at all, and it's my daily driver. Yes it only takes about 30 to 40 seconds to go to 7 but other than that it works perfectly.
My M1B1 heats up pretty quickly, is this incorrect or something?

So, is it normal? I get around 7-9 sessions out of a full battery charge and was wondering one of these days my battery might be damaged, but from those statements above I found it normal....

How many sessions do you dear folks have as an average for a full charged battery?

Cheers!

Yes, nothing wrong,"heats up pretty quickly" is what I look for at that point......IMO it's exactly what you want. Go with it.

Guys... If it works, it works. Look at your ABV and what you're putting in more than at the lot numbers.

AMEN!!! Guys, listen to the Q man, draw close and grow wise. Worry about the unit you have, not the number on it or what other random net.guys think. If you put THC leaden fresh bud in and take darker, THC depleted ABV out you've done all you can hope for, no matter what he number on the unit or how long it took to get hot. If you don't get that, nothing else will substitute.

Q man is good, Q man is wise.

Again.....or is that 'still'?

We seem to have this same discussion every 10 pages or so. There is no 'normal' since step level and how much you hit plays such a big part. 7 or 8 total sessions is probably about normal ('one session per battery light'). Over a lot of testing I've found that testing on step 7 with no stem (top open) gives the most uniform testing off this.

There are also still several sessions 'in reserve' when the battery meter shows no LEDs but it's probably not a good plan to use them as it's hard on the battery (which will wear out soon enough without extra help).

Not to worry about it, enjoy the Solo.....which is why you bought it, right?

Regards to all,

I wondering if anyone with m1c1 can get dark brown abv in a full cycle on 6-7. It take me two cycle to get to a light brown. After reading post on this unit I think this is normal with the newest unit . The same with the quick heat up. I'm not complaining , I think my solo hits awesome.

I seriously doubt it. I've had 4 (although I only briefly tested one of those), all took two sessions at full blast to give me dark ABV. Others should, of course, comment if they have something to add here?

I also am not putting any stock in 'the m1c1 is faster' bit. Didn't we just do a head to head comparison of this? 90 seconds for his, 105 for mine with somewhat depleted battery? How long does yours take from a cold start to make step 7 with no stem in the hole? The rules of physics still have to be met, there's only so much power available to heat and the stuff that needs to heat has 'thermal mass' that must be overcome. No magic allowed.

I'm glad you're happy with your Solo, IMO you have a right to be. Good unit.....just lots of nervous new owners?

I will check the exact time that my girlfriends M1C1 takes to heat up vs my M1A1 and report back tomorrow night. As for the ABV, we usually only use 7 with one of our water tools and while it may not be getting as dark brown as with the M1A1 its definitely vaped enough for me to cash it after one session. Maybe Ill run some tests and take some pics of the ABV afterwards:shrug:

I posted a video a few pages back. It definitely is quicker to get to 7.

Also I have to say that there are some issues with the newer units.

For clarity I have 3 Solos.

1 x M1A1 - amazing vapor production, couldn't go above 4 hitting dry. But a couple of weeks ago stopped charging any battery I try in it.

1 x M1B1 - amazing vapor can't go above 4 hitting dry. (This was the replacement for my faulty M1C1)

1 x M1B1 - I can hit this one dry at level 7 and get minimal vapor. Takes just over a minute to heat to 7.

I have also had a faulty M1C1 that was the worst of the lot, not heating properly and getting to 7 in 30 seconds or so.

I love my working Solos but they are not that reliable in quality IMO.

Just to add the two M1B1 units are both Silver but are 'different' silvers too. One is shinier and one is more matte

My 2 SOLO's had the same problem a year ago.
Since I changed the battery pack in my new unit both are equally quick to heat up.

Will the vendor give you a replacement?

About 7 and one of my units is over 2 years old. I just charge them when I have 2 bars left.
I need to set up the PA's. (Not an issue)

Alright guys. So my solo arrived last night, I charged it up and gave it a run. Not sure if I am packing my bowls toooo tight, but after half a session on 6-7, my abv is dark, and sometimes I can get it black.

In still trying out different heat settings to find my sweet spot, but worried running it on 7, when vape bonging, I'll get abv that's too dark.

Also I notice on lower settings, I seem to get "steam" as opposed to vapor, until I turn it up higher. And when vapor production begins, it's a bit wispy. As in, I can see light streaks of vapor travel through the stem, but not a solid column of vapor. Is this normal?

Nice, Pipes! I too, would like to know more about the grommet on top of the fbomb and, by the looks of it, the PNWT as well. I'm using a #6 food grade stopper with a 5/8" hole drilled through it to use with my bent solo stem. Works great but is not low profile like yours.

I want that 45* elbow top you have on the upper tube for my PWNT. I hate hitting it like a bong. Lil help?

The grommets are temporary. They are the black rubber foam which comes with the remotes for RC stuff. They slide over the steering levers while shipping.
Going to have to give the home brew store a look as you suggest in your link. Been looking for a flask silicon stopper but can only find in quantities.
As for the mouth pieces, the bent one is from a stock stem which I cut the bowl off with a dremel tool. (needed bowl to fix broken Gong) Posted a ways back.
The other piece is from here, which is a 14mm male glass to screw connector. Got it to see if could be used as Gong but too small. But found a different use for it. Would screw into silicon quite nicely.

Are the PVHES stems more 'efficient' for conserving material? Or just more efficient with airflow?
