E-Cigarette (not for THC use)

The old options ALL looked like cigs but generally they sucked, short batty life, crap product. The new stuff out now is much better....even some of the ciggy shaped stuff but most of us that get going want more...either longer battery life, higher volts, juice feed and folks are building new shit every day. GREAT time to start vaping compared to when I started.

RE: the tincture. I have made oodles of variations with so-so results. The oils we love so much do not play well with atomizers. It gunks them up and they get weak...dying a slow horrible death lol.

I've done PG, VG, blends... alcohol evap, reconstitute... I came to the conclusion that a BHO infusion would be the next experiment but I'm too chicken to do BHO yet. I picture myself having to explain to husband why I blew my face up or something ROFL!! I also thought that perhaps a centrifuge might be able to spin out oils and then I could see if any of the goodies were absorbed by the PG/VG but alas...I have no centrifuge.

If you don't mind ruining an atty you can get some usable juice but I wouldn't make too much or expect the atty to last too long ;)

As you can tell...I've given this some thought

Oh and I did make the JWH ejuices...they work BUT... I don't like the JWH, I prefer natural goodies.

Any of you guys order eliquid from Viking Vapor? The prices are insane and the customization is out of control, you can email them and have them do WHATEVER you want to the liquid ontop of the checkout options.

I placed an order on the 28th for

Blueberry
Cinnamon Bun
Dr Peppa
Fruit Punch
Root Beer
Hickory Smoke Tobacco
Menthol Smoke Tobacco

All 7.5 ml, 12 mg, filterless throat hit and normal flavor.

Forgot to put that id like a VG heavy mix for more vapor so i just sent them an email, hopefully they have not made all my bottles yet and can change it to something like 70% VG 30% PG.

Shorted myself on liquid so i think im gonna have to go a few days on analogs.. :(

Just heard back from them and they were able to make all my samples VG heavy.. bring on the vapor!Oh and they are shipping today.. i just MAY make it w/ my current liquid lol

Lo, thanks for all the info.

I just made a HUGE mistake. I spent some time on the e-cigarette forum. I quite cold turkey over two years ago and have not really looked back with one big exception. I actually still have trouble drinking booze because it makes me want a "analog"

I have been reading through the threads and am seriously considering getting into the ecig thing. I would probably do it with 0% nicotine and use it as a way to satisfy myself when drinking. Is this a terrible idea? I probably know the answer already. It would give me an excuse to buy more fun stuff. And their are flavors now!!!!

I think I might have to get started. advise Lo? Let me know. thanks.

You would be risking taking on another expensive hobby if you're low on restrain, but I'd say go for it Ob.

I got my first e-cig last week, a few weeks after I gave up regular smoking. I do use it with nicotine containing e-juice but only when I'm vaping weed to simulate the high I used to get from smoking joints. When I feel like smoking on other occasions I use a liquid without nicotine just to get the feel and it works for me. I don't really like the flavours though, at least not the ones I tried so far. They taste a little to artificial to me so I just stick to the tobacco flavours.

I'd have a look at the Ovale Ego-T if I were you. It's real easy to use which makes it excellent for a beginner, but a lot of dutch experienced e-sig users are switching to it as well and are very very happy with it.

You can order it directly through there US website if you like as well as through other shops.

http://ovaleusa.com/

If you like to take your time and do some research I can recommend this guys yt channel:

http://www.youtube.com/user/cozzcon

He also did a couple of great vids on the Ego -T.

Just got my eGo in today. I have smoked cigs for about 10 years. First impression is the weird taste. I am currently using a marlboro flavor cart that came with the kit. Lots of vapor and throat hit, but it taste diff. I cant even explain it. Hopefully I can adjust. The thought of not having to smoke anymore really excites me, so hopefully I can stick with it. Ive read that if you spend $150 a month on ciggs, then you will prolly spend about half that on e-cigs. So the exrta money would be nice also.

Which Ego did you get smartrott? They make several different models.

If you got the T you should blow out a new atty from the side where you insert the tank, while holding a tissue on the other end to catch the goo that comes out. It's factory filled with a clear primer to protect it while it's waiting for it's first owner. It isn't harmful to vape it, but it does taste like ass.

It took me a day or two to get used to the taste of the vapour as well, and you may have to try a few different liquids before you find one you like.

I did not get the "T". Its a regular eGo. When you say blow out the atty??? Do you mean put your mouth on the battery side or the cartridge side? Is it the same for the cartomizers as well? I just made a wyatt earp and newport menthol mix. This shit is straaaange.

I trust you guys. I do not have any particular kind in mind. I am open to all suggestions.

the ob, if you're gonna get an ecig I would suggest trying one first to make sure you like it. If you do, you might as well start at the top and get a Darwin. I have not used one as of yet, they are on back order, but this is the future of e cigs......gives you a perfect hit every time from all the reviews I have read. It has a chip inside that does all the calculations for you so you can dial in the perfect hit and then get that every single time. for more info check these links.

I would never suggest a non-smoker take up the e-cig BUT if a former smoker was ready to fall of the wagon I'd suggest trying an ecig before lighting up again. I'd also suggest no nicotine if you're not hooked on nic, no sense getting hooked now :)

The eGo's are a great place to start. If you love it you can buy more bits and upgrades but if you don't take to it you haven't spent a whole lot of dough.

It does takes some time to sample different flavors of juice (and nic strengths) to find your happy place.

I use Cisco atomizers which don't have the nasty primer but most atomizers do have primer fluid. You can remove the cartridge or drip tip and blow in that end with the battery connection end over a paper towel to get as much as possible out. It takes time but that primer taste will go away. Cartomizers no primer to worry about...they either come filled with juice or are blanks you fill yourself. I'm not a carto fan.

I started with tobacco flavors but now...I prefer fruity flavors lol. I would never have guessed I like vaping banana flavor lol. Many people get drawn to flavors they'd never expect....experiment :)

lo,
I am not trying to get you to get me hooked again. I have to take responsibility for myself :). I am intrigued by this whole thing and would do it with 0% nicotine only as I do not want to get hooked again.

I am always looking for another expensive habit. I just love my toys.

OC513. thanks for the tip. that thing looks really cool. Do you have any sense of when they will be available again? There is not much info on their site or the one selling the product.

anyone else have favorites?

I have been reading about the darwin and the consensus is that it is a pretty amazing device. Do you guys think this is a device that I could use with 0% nicotine and still have it perform as well?

If I wanted to find liquid mixtures with 0% nicotine, where is the best place to order from? It seems like a lot of places come with nicotine pre-loaded.

Lo, I would like to hear your initial thoughts.

OC513, thanks for all your help with my newbie questions.

Absolutely loving it!!! I haven't had a "cigarette-shaped" ecig since the 510 back in the beginning. I picked it because of a review I read of all 3 major bottom feeders...

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...-titans-phidias-feedimus-reo-grande-alii.html

Plus Ryan @ R&R is known for exceptional craftsmanship and customer service (so true).

Everything, including juice feeding and var-volt, work amazing.

Best $180 I ever spent :p

I used to vape Tasty Vapor but they changed the recipe on my Mint Choc Chip so I switched. A lot of people swear by it tho....check their forum

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/tasty-vapor/

I get all my juice from

http://www.freedomsmokeusa.com/

Prices are good and if you keep up with their forum on ECF they run specials all the time. I just got 120ml of Thin Mint last week w/ 30% off. It ends up being about $10/oz but its worth it

As far as tobacco flavors check out that Freedom Smoke USA. They have a whole "Tobacco" section of flavors. I'm not real big on tob flavor but I did like their "Hypnotic Mist" its a fruity tobacco flavor that has a Fruity Pebbles aftertaste. Different, but good. A lot of people swear by their different tobacco flavors. I have a sample from them of some "Wyatt Earp" its supposed to be like tobacco with a hint of jalapeo. Just not my thing.

Been following this thread pretty closely lately (there's another one in the Lounge section but this one seems to be getting the action). I asked for explicit recommendations in that thread but I may be back tonight with a quick list of EXACTLY what I should be getting.

It seems that the Ego 510 is a pretty common starting point, I mentioned before that my goal is to quit analogs (I'm using the terminology already  ) and not necessarily start a new hobby, I've got enough of those already :D

In any case I"m hoping that with the 510 I'll be able to stop analogs completely and slowly wean off the nicotine, I've already been looking at some flavors but I'll make an in-depth post soon about what will be in my shopping-cart and wait for confirmation from the experts before taking the plunge. I'm really interested to taste these flavors, I smoke Newports and I just can't imagine what those Newport juices taste like (sounds pretty gross TBH :| ). Seems a lot of people end up with the fruity stuff anyways, thanks in advance and for all the previous advice.

I started with the tobacco and menthol (or "nuport") flavors. Most of the Dekang juices (bulk china crap) are nasty. If the juice looks real cheap, its probably Dekang. I then moved on to fruity flavors (all the dessert flavors etc). Then the fateful day came when I traded some samples with an ECF member. One vape of Mint Chocolate eliquid and I was hooked. I CANT vape anything else more than a few puffs. I was a menthol analog smoker who hated the menthol liquids so Mint Chocolate was perfect for me. I never liked mint choc ice cream, candy or anything like that. I didn't hate it, just not my first, or second choice. But in vapor form its heaven!!! Its perfect for an "all day" vape, great in the morning, and even cleanses your palate :)and it still has some sweetness too it.

Freedom Smoke USA's Thin Mint is the best mint choc ive found so far. There's a few out there I need to try as well. They send a free sample of another juice with every order too. I have a cigar box full of samples P

I have sort of boiled it down to either the Ali'i or the darwin. Does anyone have both? I would be curious on your thoughts. It seems like everyone is really amped up on the Darwin, but for some reason the Ali'i has more appeal to me.

I wonder which would be better for a first time user.......

Loving this thread right now. It is fun to learn about new things. I have a number of vapes already, but this is a new learning experience and it seems like there is a lot to learn.

also wondering what mixture works best for you?

also JDS, how long did it take for you to get your order? I noticed that the site is not open for ordering currently. I am guessing they are on vacation.

I think it's hard to say whether you'd want a juice feeder or a fancy Darwin as a first choice. I usually suggest the larger eGo/Riva type batts for a first timer. Then if they get hooked they can move up and keep starter kit as backup or pass to a smoking friend.

I've used the Ali a few times at local meets...a friend has 2. He's on the road a lot so he needs a juice feeder. I personally am happy being a dripper. I drip a few drops, vape and repeat as needed. Personal preference really. Ryan the maker of Ali is great dude and has excellent service. I'm just not a juicer lol.

I also prefer the LR (low resistance) atomizers but most kits don't come with them. You can just buy the batts, charger, attys, drip tips separately as well but usually kits are a deal.

I like VG heavy blends myself...nice for vapor production. Flavors are SO subjective, best bet is to buy samplers and sample many flavors until you find what you like. Not a DeKang fan.

If you are strictly no nic you can make your own juice... Get some PG, VG and some flavorings. Makes it much cheaper than buying premade. Premade you get a nice variety of flavors to try though. I found what I liked and then learned to make my own version. Nowadays I use natural flavorings for my juices ;) Really liking them.

Loving my Darwin... Went 3 days without charging but I'm not sure I'd suggest it as a first purchase. I've purchased over well over a dozen mods easily. So far my top favs: Nuck Fistpack which was ousted by ProVari which is now in danger of being ousted by the Darwin :D

If you are going to step up to a "big boy" or "big girl" mod I gotta suggest going for something thats got variable voltage. The ability to fine tune (like most other vapes) voltage or temp is the fucking shit. I lead a fairly active lifestyle so bottom feeding was the way to go for me. Dripping and driving almost caused to many accidents. You can put a feeder on a Darwin but can you imagine what the Darwin would look like with a Super T Vapemate on it?

Vape Mate is this (attached to some other mod) Squeeze the bottle and it drips for you. Looks ridiculous but I guess it's supposed to work pretty good

Keep up with the R & R thread on ECF for when Ryan opens for ordering. I ordered mine on Dec. 17th and it came Jan. 26th.

When he does take orders, he makes like 30 or 40 (i think) available at 8pm EST on a Friday. You have to pre-register on their site (so you can get your info in quick) and then log on 10 min before 8pm and keep hitting refresh until it says "in stock" then you have to hurry and select all your options and pay. This is where it gets crazy because the item can go out of stock while in you cart so you have to get the info in fast. That was a funny ass night. Me all high an hour before doing "test orders" to improve my wood selection speed

I was lucky tho, the first time I tried to order, I got one....and later found out that they sold out in under 3 minutes or something crazy like that!!!
