Alright so when i thought about stop smoking and start vaping. I was thinking the vapor would be much better for me than smoking.

Then i got thinking is it possible since you are vaping it maybe you are exposed more to some chemical that would normally be burnt away, anyone know?
That's the only bad thing i would be able to think of and i wonder if anyone knows about that.

List some goods and bads you've learned from vaping..
some goods i can maybe think of and tell me if vaping does help it.
1-not having yellow teeth from smoking?
2. better on the lungs?
3. more effecient on weed?

thanks a lot you guys have been a load of help.

Any chemicals/compounds that are burned away would be inhaled, since you inhale the smoke as you burn the plant material. Vaporizing greatly reduces or eliminates toxins that you get with smoke. It doesn't add any.

I find I like to stay high, more often, as I am able to function fine while maintaining a good vape-buzz, as oppose to smoking where I become *retarded*.... a good thing, a bad thing, hell I don't know, but I like it. :brow:

And any 'chemicals' ( i'd assume your referencing the psychoactive compounds ) in the marijuana are totally benign when vaporized. :)

I used to get bronchitis very frequently when I smoked pot(usually several times a year). Since I switched to vaping three years ago, I've only had bronchitis once. I can't think of any way that vaping would be less healthy than smoking except maybe buying a cheap vape that puts off toxic fumes.

Perfectly said, Capn. I've been vaping since February and within two weeks I was no longer coughing up shit like I did when I was smoking.

Positives of vapng, no more burn holes in cloth and carpet. No nasty ash and no sticky black goo to clean. No (low) odor. Much less congestion and less sickness. Better dosing? Better high...

The only bad thing about vaporizing (vs. smoking) is that you have to buy a damn vape. And for some of us that becomes plural. Of course you can use a home made vape, but most of us need the ease of use of a commercial unit.

My consumption has definitely increased since I started vaping, but so has my well-being, so I couldn't say that increased consumption is a definite plus or minus to vaporizing.

The sleep that I have after vaping seems so much more restful than the sleep I'd have after smoking, and this seems to be the biggest benefit for me. I wish I knew what the variable was here.

KC, you're probably sleeping better due to less congestion. Your body isn't trying to rid itself of crap while you're sleeping. When I was a smoker I used to wake up sometimes with an itchy or phlegmy throat in the middle of the night.

I agree that a "negative" of vaping is that it is easy to increase consumption. Although it takes less herb to get me going than with smoking, I find that I can easily pig out and get incredibly wasted because vapour is so much more enjoyable.

Same here. I got to where I could hardly choke down even a little smoke. Vapor made me feel like a kid again. I also sleep better. I used to wake up in the middle of the night. Frustrated the hell out of me. Interesting that vapor, a more energetic high, resulted in better sleep, while smoke, with sleep inducing toxins, made me wake up. Rebound effect I guess.

I was thinking really hard about the negatives of vaping and couldn't think of any, except $$$....

Is 'cost' a justifiable 'negative' of vaporizing? I know cheap models are available, but imo, 120+ must be spent to get a true vaporizing experience with a reliable vaporizer.

I found that I don't cough up all that crap either anymore. I've tried to combust a few times since I purchased the vap and I'm having difficulty. I can't handle the taste and the coughing. I have also found that since vaping, I can take way bigger hawls of the bag.

I'll second the sleeping at night with breathing easier. I use to be stuffy when I went to bed and would snore really loud. My wife says that more snoring has cut down and I now sleep with my mouth closed.

I swear by this thing now.

Consumption is up, but we just save it and use it for budder. That's a plus if you ask me.

So most of you note increased comsumption, how much? I haven't got mine yet, but i read a lot of people that said comsumption decreased, which is one thing i was looking forward to.

i was also confused when i heard that and this is the answer i got

wait consumption increased? i thought vapes were suppose to be more efficient
they are more efficient, but the tendency is to want to vape more because A: its so tasty an decadent, and B: its much milder, after smoking a large amount yuor lungs kind of "give up" but with vapor that threshold is way higher

it really depends on the person, vapor can either be a savior or an enabler depending on your personality. i personally am not much of a prson to indulge, i make my bud last ridiculously long and the efficiency of vaporization enables me to do so without deprving myself of my medicine. others will love vaping so much that they will want to vape bowls and bowls at a time, and because vapor isnt so harsh on the llungs, they may consume a lot more before their lungs tell them "quitting time" (if their lungs are even bothered, most will just get ultra vaked)

Okay, I have read a lot on how vaping only releases the thc. Has there been any studies done showing that the "bad" ingredients do not vaporize? By that I mean fertilizers and other compounds. Is thc the only chemical that releases at temps under combustion. I'm not one who needs links and scientific reports. I'll take your word for it. Most of the people on here seem pretty well educated on the subject, much more than me anyway. :D

(Everything listed is based on my own personal experience vaping and smoking)

Positives to Vaping-

1.) Slightly less herb used

2.) Better taste. Less chance of mouth, tongue and throat cancers.

3.) 80 percent or more reduction in tar, ash, hydrocarbons, carbon monoxide, ect

4.) When the herb is exposed to less heat vs smoking, you will benefit from the medicinal oils that have recently been shown to destroy or block cancer cells. Studies show particular interest in brain and breast cancer cases.

5.) Longer lasting high

6.) "Cleaner" high

7.) Less odor vs smoking

8.) Better sleep

9.) Less mood swings

10.) Less chance of panic attack due to the slower onset of the drug

11.) Less addictive and easier to taper off vs smoking

12.) Reduces or eliminates breathing problems associated with smoking

Negatives to Vaping-

1.) It does seem to increase couch lock vs smoking (couch lock is not to be confused with general energy level). This is probably because you are getting more active compounds in your system. A cup of coffee does the job.

2.) *Excessive* vaping can irritate your salivary glands(by causing a longer 'cotton mouth' effect) slightly more vs smoking. Drink extra water and you will be fine.

3.) Certain vaps use parts that may cause cancer(metals, plastics, wood, ect). Glass on glass is the best option

4.) A good vap is expensive! (but well worth it)

5.) There is a concern that vaps may release the unwanted compounds in street herb(fertilizers that haven't been properly flushed, pesticides, herbicides and other unknowns). This is highly unlikely though, when you consider the boiling point of these compounds. More research needs done in this area.

I'm a bit confused with this statement. To me, couch lock is synonymous with low energy level, and is typically associated with smoking versus vaping.

A good vape does NOT have to be expensive. As an example, the VaporGenie is a good vape and it only costs 55 bucks. The Vaporwarez is a good home vape, and it only costs about 130 bucks.
But "expensive" is relative, so what do you consider the cut off point to be in order to get a "good" vape?
