Thinking Of A Volcano and Finishing Grinder

This thread is funny =).

Dont expect much volcano love here, they usually fall for the cheaper stuff here ^^.
But to sum things up. Volcano is a great device assembled at high quality. Re-sell value is also very high and you can expect that thing to work for a very long time. But there are other fish in the sea to pick from too.

On the other hand you have vapes like the cloud who are advertised here is the holy grail, yet based on forum feedback seems to be poorly assembled stuff that breaks often.
Or take the MFLB as an example. Its highly praised here but if you really go into detail a high percentage of its users is actually not really satisfied with it (check the "whats the worst/best vaporizer purchase for instance).

In the end its all about you and what you like. With vapes its a little bit like apple vs. droid. For some people its like a religion. So dont expect this discussion to be very fact based ...

Also consider your usage pattern and life-style. Is it possible for you to have your vaporization equipment standing around at all times? Do you need to hide it? Is smell important for you? Do you like "playing around" or do you just want it to work? Its all about finding the vaporizer that suits your life/vapor-style best, not about finding the "best" vaporizer because that for sure does not exist.

For me the cano is sitting on top of my computer and thats exactly where i use it. Fill up a balloon and "smoke" it while playing games or watching videos. Its perfect for that, you need to pay zero attention once the balloon is full, just take a draw when you like. No worries that anything is overheating or still cooking the herbs while you pause.
When i am sitting with my wife and she is smoking i usually grab my LSV. Its also a great device i would recommend, but i dont want to have it sitting next to my pc because its not really suited well for that use. But it really shines when you take out the glass and the wpa adapter. But thats not something i want to do next to the pc while gaming.

This part of your post is rather insulting to most of the members of FC. Of course they usually choose vapourizers that are cheaper than the Volcano—almost all of them are. You used an emotionally loaded negative term ("fall for") to express a truism.

Speaking of falling for, you've fallen for—or perhaps you're taking advantage of—the fallacy that you can judge the quality and failure rate of a device by relying on the feedback in the threads here. It's been explained countless times why this is bad reasoning. First, FC is not a typical sample of purchasers. Second, there is a negative bias because people with problems tend to seek out forums for help, while happy customers typically don't feel a need to go online and post about it. Checking the best/worst purchases thread to determine MFLB customer satisfaction is simply unreliable. It ignores all the positive users in the LB thread itself, and then the sample size is completely insignificant in relation to the sales of the LB.

This part is good advice. I wish you hadn't felt the need to cast aspersions on the rest of FC before you posted it.

Over the horizon u can see the edges of the Earth
I personally would go with what is currently in the market or being set up on the market right now. That choice would be different depending on your personal preference. I can explain a few things before you make your decision.

Volcano 'Classic' Analog Vaporizer
- Great vapor production, HQ Buds + setting #5-6 = flavorful bliss (I have tried to maximize how much more I would be able taste by only putting 0.1g of herb inside the chamber and it works better with less while gradually topping it off with more after each run would retain the flower's taste a lot better.) Two of my friends have had their Volcano before me and one had bought his brand new unit and had to send in his for repair (2 weeks) because of the hose being loose like others have said on the forum. Although, shipping cost was expensive, it still is a great product and should be taken as a reliable vaporizer for the beginners that want a unit that can handle years of use. Mine was a second-hand owned Volcano and I had recently sold it along with my whole kit and used bags for half the original price (i bought it for $300/unit, $119/kit off eBay.) That being said, it guarantees (for now) that you can still make your money back if your unit is under good condition and has never been abused.

Extreme EQ 4.0
- My first personal vaporizer. I had bought this back in 2012 and used it for a good year or less until I wasn't satisfied with the unit due to maintenance. I like glass but not the way Arizer intended for it to be used. Burned myself more often than I do with my Sublimator. Funny, now that I think of that it is quite true lmfao. Good thing for a few replacements it had came with in the box so I wasn't worried too much about breaking my bowl but unfortunately the bag MPs would break often, cheap glass probably. You get what you paid for (165 off Amazon, was a great deal until they took it off the site.) Most people would say they can't get quality vapor with this unit because of the design but again for beginners, this vape packs a punch along with a few extras (remote assist, whip or bag system, easily to clean bowl.)

Like many others on here, I will have to choose Herbalizer over Volcano because of its design, simple design although similar in system it is like an Arizer meets Volcano and they completely put thought into the product. Stash and stash box included, aromatherapy for those who would like an effective deodorizer included, and so much more features. Did I mention unique temp control and THREE fans? That is a lot to pack in one small looking vaporizer. This must be your unit of choice if you are willing to spend the cost of a Volcano. It saves you so much time wasted from both the EQ and Volcano thus having you out and about in the matter of SECONDS.

With my Sublimator, I still have to wait 5-10 minutes for action but that's fine with me because I usually vape it after showering or doing chores first. I still don't wait as long as I would with the past vaporizers I've had. Trust me, time is money. And if you got the money, you will save yourself time. Also, sharing seems a hell lot better on the Herbalizer than on the Sublimator but it depends what your friends want but I could care less about that because my aim is to always get medicated and be satisfied myself. Most my friends smoke and it disgusts me now how they are all so used to that style that they don't know what they are really missing out on (flavor/quality high.)

On the Stoop
I've had a Volcano for 11 years and it's still going strong, it was my daily driver for about 8 years. I don't have the digital version. They are expensive, but back then in the stone age of vapes, nothing else i tried even came close. Now i only use it for groups/parties cause teaching people how to vape when they just wanna get high is a waste of party time ;).
I'd look at some of the other vapes people have mentioned, read those threads. Is it a good vape-yes and no. I prefer my Solo now. The flavor is great and it's not harsh like the Volcano :D JMHO

Wow! Everyone Thank you for the input!

Its very much appreciated. I am kinda now more on the fence than I was before. lol.

I went ahead and bought the finishing grinder as I think any Vape would benefit from the finer grind.

Im gonna go read all these threads on all the other ones mentioned and will come back with some questions Im sure. Thanks for all the help!

I have also noticed that common affliction of being pulled toward multiple vapes. Happily, this forum also presents a great cure: don't choose between vapes, get 'em all! Seriously, when I first came out here I didn't understand why anyone would want more than one vape. Boy, have I learned my lesson.

Ok, I am reading and reading and reading.

I have some conclusions. I really dont need any vape thats portable since I have my MFLB and it gets the job done well. Though, what I am reading bout the Solo is very impressive. ( Too many choices!!! )

I dont think I am into whip vapes, I never really used it on my EQ nor do I usually like just take a hit, then sit awhile then go back then sit awhile then go back, I am more of just take a full bag and go do something. With that in mind, any other suggestions when it comes to bag vapes? I see what some are saying about the Herbalizer being new and untested, and understand that concern. And that is some serious money. Next, the Valcano is tested and known, and seems to be good but is also some serious money as well. I really dont mind spending the money if I know in the end its worth it. I am now seeing the herbalaire elite, but would that be much of an improvement over my Extreme Q? I am really looking for just a great machine thats reliable, will vape very well, and save on bud. Thanks again everyone.

( And on second thought .. answering a past question brought up, I have no need to hide any of my equipment nor care about size or looks, I really just want functionality and reliability )

Also do deals pop up on black friday? Is it worth waiting till then? Ultimately, I'd just hate to spend some dough on a new vape and not be more impressed than what I have with my extreme q.

If you want a bag vape, but don't want to spend the big bucks on the 'Cano, I think the HerbalAire would be your best bet.

I wouldn't mind spending the big bucks, as long as I know its going to be a worthy investment. If it'd be a Cano or Herbalizer etc ( I've got a lot of credit card reward cash back thats going towards whatever I get. lol )
HerbalAire 2.2 or Elite?

I took a flyer on a riduculously cheap Zephyr Ion and IMO its the second best bag filler, though I have not yet used the herbalizer or HA. The Zephyr will fill a bag in about a minute and while the valve isnt as good as the volcano's its not too bad. Fun to share too, and built pretty solid with a serious pump. Its a much better bag filler than the EQ. Gun to my head, I'd still go for the Volcano, though. Its just so damn easy to use and maintain.

I signed up to be on the list for the herbalizer.... What do you think my chances are of getting one in December?
I'd hate for black friday to pass and give up a small discount on a Valcano to end up not getting a herbalizer...

Right now it looks like a Herbalizer first then a Valcano if I dont think my chances are good...

A couple quick thoughts. First, do you have any reason to think that you will find a black friday discount on a Volcano? S&B are notorious for keeping tight control over their prices; I'm not sure I've ever seen an authorized retailer discount the price of a 'Cano. (Retailers get around this a bit by offering extra goodies with a purchase.) I'm not saying that there won't be black friday sales on the Volcano, but it seems to me that when online retailers run broad sales, they often don't include the Volcano. Second, I've read some of the senior members out here express optimism about a December release of the Herbalizer, and certainly they know much more than I do. But I've been around out here long enough to see a number of new companies trying to get their vapes to market … and it is familiar to see ongoing, unexpected delays. Personally, I wish that new companies wouldn't publish release dates and would instead wait until they *know* the units are ready. In any case, given that there are already a lot of people signed up for one, I personally wouldn't count on a unit in hand in December. It certainly might happen, and I hope it does; it looks like a potentially GREAT device. But based on what I've seen over the last couple years, delays are common with new companies.

In other words, the best thing to do is be patient, especially since you already have a solid vape. Good luck!!
