Well, this is what the holes in the glass bowl look like from Vapeworld's page. They seem to be about the same size as those in the Cera...

it seems like they won't have adjustable temp control, just one fixed temp of 400F. So you'll have to control your actual temps with speed and length of draw...

I would bet that this isn't saying it ONLY goes to 400, rather that is the top of its range.

It has a built in accelerometer that measures the air intake speed and adjust heat output on the 'fly'. This all happens within microseconds.

Okay, I made that last part up. A boy can dream.

Damn I knew I saw that image somewhere. I don't think those are holes...they could be, but zooming in tight doesn't revel any obvious holes. Five heating elements, now that is interesting. No wonder it has the word 'HOT' printed on the lens rim twice. And the glass is frosted, increasing its ability to glow.

I wonder if those are holes or heating elements seen through solid glass? (Oops, Vapoligist beat me to it!)

If they're holes, they look a little larger in diameter (unless the firefly is much smaller than I think) and fewer in number than those in the LLC. It's got 12 holes in a circle with a .2 inch diameter or so, each hole having a diameter of maybe .9mm.

It would be nice to see a video of the Firefly in action before they start taking our money. Looks cool but Photos alone doesn't make me want to spend my cash. I'll be watching this one though.

I find their comments on the heater and temp range to be quite ... Something:

What is the temperature range of the Firefly?
Answer:The Firefly has the broadest temperature range of any portable vaporizer, spanning from room temperature up to 400°F, all within a single inhalation. This means you enjoy each distinct flavor and active ingredient as the temperature continues to climb. If material vaporizes at different temperatures, as stated I first sentence, it shouldn’t say you enjoy all the flavors and ingredients the moment it vaporizers, as stated in the final sentence.

I think they have left some unedited copy there...It's extremely unclear. No temp settings>? That just sounds crazy to me. "spanning from room temperature to 4000°F..." That is confusing.

Apparently other vaporizers are only capable of 20°C. False. This image...is...ummm...I am just gonna call shenanigans on it and move on.

How do I control the temperature?
Answer:Simply press and hold the power button as you inhale. The longer you inhale, the higher the temperature and the richer the vapor. Enjoy perfect vapor every time, based on what feels best to you.

Very confusing. Based on what feels best to me? Ummm...what? There is a video on the product page that shows it does work pretty quickly.

Can the Firefly be used while charging?
Answer:The Firefly can only be used when it is unplugged from the charger. However, with an additional battery and external charger, you can quickly swap in a new battery instead of waiting.

So...since other portable vapes do allow it to be used while its charging, Firefly feels its easier to sell you more products instead?

... ...
  • The five year warranty is great.
  • Vapor path...awesome.
  • A $15 replacement battery cover?
  • The charger isn't USB on both ends . BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
  • There is no mention of what material the screen is made of, possibly super proprietary alloy?
The FAQ page still needs some refinement/editing.

An extra battery charger is nice....but for $55? The site claims this price, and an extra battery is $30...but if you get them when you purchase the vape, you get both the battery and the charger for $35...they are claiming its a savings of $25, but its $50? Not sure which is correct.

I missed this video the first time I checked out the site. Looks good, but I don't trust it completely because he hits the button at 0:28 and inhales at 0:33 which is quick, but there's a cut from the closeup on the Firefly to a slightly wider POV showing the inhalation. It's not the same shot. Not saying it's deception, but vape manufacturers should know that if you want to show how quick your vaporizer is, you should show it in one continuous shot.

Oh, and another thing, don't have a white background when you're trying to show vapor!

Good point. I still have high hopes for this thing. I know they say no liquids and such, but I hope cotton balls will work.

I still don't see any video anywhere on their website. What am I missing?
Thanks @marduk. I found it. Now I want a few minutes worth and a few more hits.

It looks like they have resolved all the FAQ's issues on the site. The content was tightened up and is much more clear now.

I was a bit harsh about the batteries and charger, but I think I had the wrong information. I hope they offer a case that will hold the unit and an extra battery or two?

I feel that with as much development as this vape has seen, they probably would not limit themselves to 110v, and therefore limit their marketability overseas. I bet a 220 version will appear eventually.

Yeah, sure hope so, especially since it's just a charger they need to replace, unlike in desktop units.

This could be the first electronic portable full convection vaporizer that can give instant vapor on demand! The Lotus might have found it's digital brother... :D

EDIT: OK, forgot about the FlashVape... Sorry... I should say "portable enough"... :p

Interesting (expensive) thing …looks like a LB eaten by a terminator .

BUT:

I really don't understand how this thing is working concerning temp control

IMO actual explanations are clear as a cappuccino …...

When you press the button, temp starts rising very fast until it gets to the top (400F). You control the hit by how long you draw and how fast. Like a convection MFLB on steroids... Or a digital Lotus of some kind... I just hope the heater can keep up with a decent draw, not like an INH XP for example.

Strange concept considering the price range ……

somebody knows where it should come from ? (conception /manufacturing)

I'm also surprised not seeing the manufacturer here to present and defend it …..

Price is steep but if this thing really exists and works as advertised it could be the new portable electronic convection powerhouse and won't need much defending. Solo didn't!

A new generation of portable convection vapes is taking front seats. The Lotus in the off-the-grid category at a class of its own, the Grasshopper in the ultimate stealth category and the Firefly as a powerhouse for small or huge clouds could replace the Solo... :2c: Prices will eventually fall.

Info from the end of the PDF guides on their website:

Designed in the USA
Assembled in China
Patents Pending

They updated Facebook/Instagram since yesterday. Hopefully only a matter of time before the manufacturer shows up here.

Here's some Firefly vapes mid-assembly
