Firewood Vaporizer

Glass cigarette holder i got on esty . glass has a yellow tint.
Makes a nice stem for the firewod.

Do you have a link for that?

EDIT: I think I found it,

http://www.etsy.com/listing/1074891...ry&ga_ship_to=US&ga_page=3&ga_search_type=all

Does it create a seal inside the hole or is it loose. If this thing can hang on while upside down I would be all over it. The one thing I don't like about this vape in the MP and this and Ed's stem are looking to put it over the edge.

The glass stem is loose its about 9 mm and firewood is bout 10mm.
you can put the stem thru the lid instead of the original and rubber o ring holds it.

Sad to hear. I really want an air tight MP so it looks like the wooden ones will be perfect.

That said, I have been using my FW with my PnPro water tool and this thing really is amazing. I love being able to use tiny loads and getting all the goodies out in 3 or 4 hits.

I load the end of the glass stem log vape style and get about 3 or 4 nice hits.
If you put it thru the lid it would be air tight. its only loose without the lid.
The wooden stem and you fill the vape as normal ,
i put a gauze in mine to stop bits coming thru in to your mouth.

Marc, I know you said the air intake hole is plenty big enough, but do you think there would be a way to incorporate an air intake valve control into the Firewood like the one in this pic? If not, would it be possible to order a Firewood with a slightly enlarged air intake for those who like a more free-flowing draw?

Really like my V1 Firewood vaporizer so far. For a home baked electric portable, it's quite an impressive showing in my opinion. I find the unfinished model, like the basic Vapman which is similar in spirit, to be attractive in appearance as is. A little Underbutter made it look even better. Experienced vaporizer users will find good vapor density and flavor here, and for $90 for an unfinished, it's kind of a no-brainer.

The burn marks from a few pages back are slightly alarming and the new V2 model is incredibly tempting, and I hope to learn more about both. How is that glass bowl piece removed by the user? Just tipped upside down while still hot? If so that's not as crazy as it sounds, you can rapidly chill small objects and prevent burning yourself by rolling it between your palms very quickly, something I did often with the Herbalaire crucible. Obviously emptying onto a flame proof surface is a good solution too.

Does the V2 sacrifice battery life, or the ability to get beautifully dark ABV? Just how much conduction/convection is going on in the V1 by the way, and do we have an illustration of the airpath? Why the elimination of the window in the V2, for curiosity's sake? I can't say I'd miss it.

Hopefully someone picks up a V2 in time to take delivery and write us a review before the sale period ends.

Im really interested to hear how the changes have effected performance. I would be able to get some really nice clouds with the firewood but your technique and breathing has to be pretty good just like the MFLB.

Cant wait for the first FCer review.

Another big change is the power dissipation is now 10 watts vs 14 watts in the original. I'm guessing that makes it easier to control and eliminates the need for the thermal fuse.

Unfortunately, I will be out of town when my package arrives. I probably won't get to use it until around Thanksgiving.

Do the capsules fit into the older models?
Sorry they won't fit in the older models.

I won't be able to add a valve any time soon, but if you make an order and ask for a bigger hole, i suppose I could do that. However, I really don't think it is a good idea since that hole is not very restrictive and it really should be used with very slow draws anyway.

The new model may also show some discoloring with use around the hot spots, but nothing that should affect how it works.

You can either tip the unit to get the capsule out, or better yet, when you pull out the mouthpiece, if you do it at a slight angle, it pulls the capsule out with it. CAUTION though, the capsule it HOT right after a use. It is best to wait a minute or two or to dump it into a surface.

The v2 should have slightly better battery life. IMO the avb is a prefect shade of brown and is a little harder to combust. It is hard to say how much of the heat transfer is conduction vs convection in the v1. I don't have a diagram but basically on v1 the inner glass tube has nichrome coiled around it, thus the conduction, while there is also an outer glass tube that forces the incoming air to pass over that same nichrome so the air is heated too. The window on v1 was functional more than aesthetic - without them the wood got too hot where the windws are.
Could I get glass capsules alone?
I'll be offereing extra capsule on the website soon...

Great Scott!
Can't wait to try the V2. Had the V1 with me all day yesterday. Battery life is still a non issue for me. I vape a good amount each day, and I still have no concept of how long the battery lasts, because I just charge it at night. Its never died on me.

I'll have a nice review for you kind friends here at FC once my 2.0 comes in. I think Marc already took better pics than I can, but if you wanna see anything specific I can take pics. Really can't wait for it. Got the firewood 1.0 right here in my pocket to get me through the day.

As for how long the battery lasts I finally have some light to shed on that issue. I was charging it overnight as usual and thought last night "oh no its broken!" because it would turn on but when I hit the trigger both lights would go out. First thought was dead battery, but how. Turns out my charger was unplugged at the wall end. This means I got 2 full days of use out of it, thinking it was charged fully as usual.

2 days on one partial charge sounds amazing to me, especially since I just charge it over night every night.

Biggest mistake...that I joined MD firewood order, jus to save a few $$...
Firstly they sent me just a power adapter of Firewood, and after writing to em for 4-5 days about the prob, they are finally shipping my Vape..which is scheduled to reach me by 2-6 weeks.,So a drop joined during September , will get my Vape by December(and I still don't trust em)

My last order with MD ... Will pay more next time and only use PV for all Vape requirements ..I ordered F-bomb last week and they got it delivered in just 4 days..haha and I am in India...

How can you even be complaining of this? You joined a mass group buy to save money. Of course it takes longer to fill mass drop orders. To get a solo in mass drop I think they were saying MONTHS to get it.

But what is the real issue? You don't want to wait 2-6 weeks to get your good customer service of a handmade product from half way around the world?

I'm sure if you want to pay for the most expensive shipping option out there it'll be quicker, but it sounds like you went the massdrop route to save a few bucks. I'm here in the USA and got mine from the same massdrop in under a week. It seems like "you don't trust them" because you are so far away, which is really 100% out of Firewood's control. Hell a lot of companies REFUSE to ship internationally at all...

I know if it was me running a company dealing with vaporizers I'd say no international shipping at all. I'd rather be called a dick than deal with customs for countries I'm not familiar with, and laws about such products that I am not familiar with. I know if I ordered something from India to the USA I'd expect a hell of a lot longer than a week for it to get to me. I order goods from Japan once in a while....my time from order to drop off on smaller items is usually closer to 2 months. Its just the downside of international business.

Couple of questions as I think I want one of these :
1 - Do you buy one off the FW website or the Etsy site. Last night I looked at both and found only 1 on FW but a few on Etsy.

2- Will there be more walnut versions at some point?

3- What is the approximate turn around time for domestic orders?

TIA
SA

Me too. I only received receipts and did not get tracking or shipping confirmation. I was hoping to have it today. Oh well the anticipation continues.

That's kinda how I am too. I hate the wait from ordering to possessing the product. So impatient. Haha.
