Judging by my experiences with my v2, out-of-the-box wasn't the case. It functions, but not adequately.
The other option is the HVD, as I already have a V2. But should I even bother with the 7.4V battery and associated carts?

Yeah it turns out to not be very strongOh. You mean this stuff...
I wasn't impressed.
It's about a 1.4 watt difference.

is this true?! man i want a persei, i already have an omicron v2.5 but i cant find a need i guess for the persei..i wish the sr71 was more user friendly i mean im pretty tech savy but thats a lot of work just to load a damn cart.. how many hits car you get off one load with the sr-71? coil cut vs uncut

Anything that isnt a liquid at room temp. The purer the better. Stay away from hashes, even the full melt stuff. Id assume the plant matter would foul things quickly.
Then again, I dont own a KISS cart.

IIRC, the Ophos KISS cart has the threading for Ego style batteries - though I have yet to hear reports back of attempting KISS + Ego.
Pehaps I'll use them together this evening and report back when possible. My KISS is the 2.xx not the Ophos - so it fits on an Ego with a proper adapter..it looks ridiculous so I haven't tried using it this way yet. Using it with no adapters on the Omi 2.5 with an AW IMR 14500 however has been quite nice!

Kiss + ego doesn't work.
Our kiss carts are designed for our devices. To get an adapter to use our kiss carts or any if our other attachments on another device then that is totally up to you.

I already have an adapter for the omicron carts. Might they work in a similar fashion?

Depending on the kind of adapter, yes. If you have an ejuice cart to Omi adapter then no since this is the reverse of an Omi cart to Ego adapter. There is a separate thread about this with more specific details. I wonder what doesn't work when using Ego + KISS, whether there's no heat at all or whether the cart blows up etc. I'll report back with results if have to

I like to place the concentrate directly on top of the coil, right in the center. My concentrate of choice is shatter which isn't sticky until heated, so a quick pulse of the button will melt it just enough to carry around without the concentrate falling off the top of the coil. Perhaps some folks load more into the ceramic bowl for less reloading but I have yet to try this, & it may or may not cause air flow issues.

Actually sir, they do. I agree it's our own responsibility for experimenting - but what is your source of info for making the claim that they won't work? 2.xx KISS cart heated up just fine for some great hits using my wife's VV Vision Spinner via adapter set to 3.7 volts. Unless the Ego brand is using some voodoo to prevent it from working, I anticipate the same results on my Ego as the Vision. The adapter trick is ridiculous looking but this implies at least to me there should be no reason the Ophos threaded KISS cart won't work natively on an Ego.
I don't mean any disrespect nor do I mean to imply other batteries will work as optimally or are as rugged as your designs, however the primary reason I chose your Omi 2.5 as my first vapor pen is due to its convenient, modular design - both battery and cart.
Don't get me wrong it should work or could work. We just won't take responsibility if it messes up anything. So our stand is at your own risk not because of "our carts work best on ours" philosophy but because of liability.
