EFS Glass Thread

What would a mobius cost if you remove ALT or Kulture from the picture I wonder?(Hate to keep using mobius but just an example many are familiar with around here)?

It also seems to me the glass game, is a game. If you know how to play it you can get very good prices, if not, retail here you come.

Mr. EFS(sorry don't have a name for you yet lol) mentioned he "enjoyed" making the incyclers. Maybe the "whatever price drop would be" would be buffered by the fact he digs doing recyclers. So it may not seem like a drop when you're doing what you love.

I'd rather see more affordable solutions on the market than more heady, hi-priced pieces that most will never have the money to afford. Also, if affordable, I don't feel like I have to sell one piece to fund another, like many people do.

Lastly, how many fire breathers can make psycho, heady, worked pieces in the $1000's of dollars. I can point out quite a bit, but how many are putting out cutting edge designs at affordable to the consumer prices.

I say, be the People's Glass Blower!!!

Please don't take any offense, EFS, we're just spitballing here. Appreciate that you even cared to ask us our input!

$600 is out of my price range. $350-400 would make me actually consider saving for it. It looks quality, don't get me wrong. I really like how it stacks. But this is your bread and butter. I couldn't imagine how sick an affordable incycler with a little bit of worked stuff (like on the floor) would be. I mean, I can get a little recycler for $70 at the local headshop but it won't fire the way yours will. No question about it.

Being "the people's glassblower" is something I would much rather be than an expensive label. That is why I first decided to ask about pricing. To me $400-$600" is still expensive. I can't afford to keep my own work. One of these days I would like to!

"People's glass blower" is something many of us have been waiting for, can't speak for other fc members but I know plenty of mmj users that can justify spending more then an oz or two would cost on glass. Something like your work at $400 would be my first glass purchase in 2 years:rockon:

Although I totally get someone of your ability demanding more, a $300-$400 peoples incycler would be incredible

Best of luck and Digging your work, really hope to have some efs glass sometime:peace:

Nice to meet you Justin! Again, thank you for being here and welcoming input(lord knows we can give input here)from the community. And also for giving a tiny peek of who you are as a father running a home based business.
For all I knew prior, EFS could of been a bunch hipsters breathing fire in some avant garde' studio, with moustaches,PBR,and unicycles. I like the dad mental picture much better, being one myself(and for the 3rd time, any day now, momma's belly is startin to rumble like Vesuvius.)

I agree $400-600 is still up there. You can still be high quality without being too expensive. In fact, if you can produce high quality(which it certainly looks like you do), at more attainable prices, myself, I think the community will go nuts for you. Churn out a recycler/incycler hydratube for a fair price, pfft, enjoy not having a day off for the next year! I believe EFS is synonomous with gridded donut(it is in my head), now do it with the recyclers/incyclers. I got $300 on the low side, and $400(starting to hurt) on the high side, that says you can do it!

Huzzah to the People's Official Unofficial Glassblower!!!
Upon completion of the FC Incycler we shall remove Unofficial.

Full disclosure, I have been typing and dabbing while typing this reply, since 7 minutes after Justin's(post #204), typing ,deleting, typing. Time flies when..

Haaa! Didn't mean to make you want to :puke:

Didn't see much on your instagram, I have seen some companies/blowers use that to showcase with some success. Gets your name out there too. If I am wrong about Insta, please drop a link here.
Also, anymore videos/pics of your work that we may not have seen?

Thanks

He has his own forum on BoroMarket with years worth of photos of his incredibly clean work.
I know it might not help you much if you don't have a BM subscription, but just letting you know Justin has been around for years and years turning out high quality work.
I've been meaning to get an EFS piece for years, was going to get a New Orleans Saints themed double chamber tube, but I think he stopped doing blasting of custom images at some point.
But I still really want an EFS in my collection, I LOVE the worked donut percs he does.

Is there any website to check out your work? I don't have a boromarket membership(although I'm thinking I should get one now) and I don't have any social media accounts? Sorry if I missed it.
Gotta say I like supporting the small guy, especially one that is active with his customers and wants feedback! Good man for even considering the prices that are being talked about here:rockon: I know where my next glass purchase is coming from

Welcome Justin. Man its awesome you are hanging with us opinionated weed lovers.
I agree $350-400 is still high, but better than $600. I say continual improvement with the goal being making an affordable quality recycler for the masses.

Great you want to be a blower of the people. You will get some input here.
We are just like each other, making a living, providing for our families and enjoying life. I say recyclers in users hands does help one enjoy life!
Now to cruise you area on BM. I want to add one to my collection, and trying to figure out why I don't already have one

Aloha Justin,
really like the way you are thinking here...love to make it, less expansive, hate to make it, you'll pay :-)

Seriously, I also loved your work on my dognut.

Wht I would pay for an incycler like this...If I lisen to my feeling it shouts: You ain't gonna get more then 300 to spend on another piece of glass you freaking glasshead.

But I have no idea how much investent is in on your side. What do materials cost, how much labour do you have on it...

I do know that headshops are like the most uppriced shops ever, and I think it is wrong that they make as much if not more on these pieces then the creators do. Set up your own online shop and get these beauties out to the people Justin, without many people getting loaded from doing nothing but unloading something somebody else created. Or just create an FC discount that no one can match...:2c:

I definately feel like your pieces will be worth whatever you decide to ask for them...

I can also vouch for the quality of Justin's work. My gridded donut piece is flawless.

I think $600 is about right for this piece judging from other similar pieces I've seen. Like a few others have said that's just a bit outside my budget at the moment. These are sweet pieces though! Great work Justin!!

Anybody know if an EFS tube with a donut perc will fit a Cloud without an angled adapter? I'm gonna buy one regardless, but would prefer to be able to use them together without an adapter.

To Justin (EFS): If there's not enough clearance, could you make the normal tube with the joint just a little bit further away from the can?

@nugghuffer ---I think you will need an adapter for the Cloud based on owning one myself. It may fit but be awkward like my David Goldstein mini was with the Cloud. I never bought an adapter because I didn't keep the piece very long, but an angled would of really helped out.

Here's my input on pricing:

1st I don't collect glass; I keep 1-2 pieces and when I want something new, I trade or sell one of my current pieces. Since I typically don't have any particular piece more than ~6 months, I'm motivated to find pieces that are a) relatively inexpensive (<300) or b) have a high demand/high resale price.

I've owned one your donuts before and can attest that the quality is just as good as Sov, Toro, Mobius, or any of the other major brands. However, you just don't have the brand recognition those companies do and resale value suffers as a result. This is similar to SYN, whose quality and functionality are on par with the above mentioned brands IMO, but they have poor resale value in the used market.

That said, I would happily buy an incycler for $400. Much more than that and I feel I'd lose more when I go to trade/sell it than I would prefer.

i'm pretty much the opposite. i dont like dealing with selling glass so i tend to spend less with the intent to keep it or give it away later. it's really hard for me to justify spending more than $300-$400 on glass because i'm never going to sell it and recoup any of the funds...but that's just me.

but i definitely agree with you on the brand name recognition effecting resale value

and these look amazing btw

Hopefully we didn't offend Justin.

Without being on Faceback or Boromarket, how can we see more EFS designs?
Hard to pass up on some of the black friday sales going on currently, trying to hold out to see some more of what EFS has to offer.

Edit: I keep watching the EFS recycler video over and over. The vortex goes on for almost 6 seconds after he stops drawing!!

Instagram...
I personally, have no issue paying for quality and art especially if I am keeping it. If I plan on keeping it I don't care about resale value, not that is an issue here at all, so I value it from what I want. Really dollars have little real value, can't do anything with it other than hide it or spend it really. The value is faith. I have more faith in something that has actual value so I spend more on things I keep because its a life time investment. I try not to devalue it by saying my dollar is more important.

Many times in my life I tried to save a few bucks on say a tool only to be very disappointed in the long run. So I had to go out and get another one, buying what I should have in the first place. In the end I ended up spending more just to save a few bucks for short term goals. Now, if its something I intend on keeping I think in the long term... that said I did buy cheap glass and still have it. Some is good, some isn't. Not perfect and still making the same mistakes in the beginning. Moreover, I will not resale them, why, because I can't charge for sometime I don't like. Unfair to my earth mate aka golden rule. Karma etc. May give it away though.

Actually thinking of creating a post of these pieces with the offer, free, just pay shipping...
Time to make some room and clean the barn.

Ha, ha, ha. Actually very serious, no recyclers though. All black leaf stuff, but they work, only two are really poor functional. They are just entry level and running out of room. Prefer to just share. Not worth it to charge for them...

Oh, staying with the thread, I did start a custom request with Justin for a worked recycler. It will be worked so not an average piece and there is a lead time. It will be my Christmas present to my favorite person, ME :) I expect the end of Jan...

sorry have to do another post, can’t edit and its off thread topic, but I started it here. Play it Forward info is on my profile post page. Hope mods are OK with this and NO any EFS piece I get will not be played forward, well while I am alive...

Just passing time
Hopefully he's just making glass to prep for his huge sale! Regardless, I'm sure one of Justin's beautiful pieces will be my next glass purchase. I've been lusting after a gridded doughnut since I set my eyes on one. Your workmanship, generosity, and outlook on your life solidify that feeling.

@PhotoRider i agree with that. i just dont have that much to spend unfortunately. someday :)
Objectives... Good to have :) I fully respect that. Been there many times myself for years and years. Other things such as family, kids, house, etc took it all.

Now for me to play it forward to people making a living and enjoy the output :)

Who know what the future holds...
