I always take my wand out between hits but flaming at 12:00? Where is your dial (in relationship to a clock) when it's maxed out and where is it when it clicks on?

When I use the transfer wand, I also always use it inverted so the bud is resting on the screen in the wand rather than on the screen of the heater cover.

When used in this way, I've never had an issue with flames. I can easily vape at 2:00 and still be below combustion levels. 2:30 though, and things start getting a bit black.

Mine can reach combustion at or above 12 o'clock with a very slow draw. I have found that if I don't go above 11:30 I am safe. For me, my journey with the LSV has been about finding sweet spots. I've found that even minute movements of the dial can cause quite a significant change.

This is an interesting test, but it is not complete. You would have to test multiple LSVs because they all range in different temperatures. You would also have to test with the LSV on multiple different surfaces, suspended (as in some people's rigs), or placed in something like a glass mug. There are many different factors that would have to be thrown into the mix.

I do like the test and the purpose of it.

What setting should I start with?

I have only flavor vaporizers and this is my first real powerful unit.

Grind?
Course; fine or whole flower nuggets?

I feel like a kid waiting for his first bike!

Any advice?

I am not claiming that all LSV's will have the same results, just this one. I I tested it under the situations in which I use it. I can't test it in yours, or any other situation the number of situations you suggest is really infinite. And I used an SSV as reference, that's as close as I could come as it has exactly the same internals. Test multiple LSV's? Who do you think I am, Vito or something?

And the greenest method, is to just turn them off when not in use! I recently starting using smart power strips, which all my vapes are now hooked up to. Highly recommended for vaporists!

I just bought a LSV and I am a self professing flavor chaser.

However as my tolerance is becoming ridicules I'm hoping that the LSV will fill the void of my medication needs.

I did a lot of research on vaporizers and the LSV seemed to be the best fit for my needs?

WATER PATH I fell in love with however my hits seem a bit wispy.
I hit my vapes dry to get the proper medication.
Still a couple of water hits for all time flavor.

Now many claim that the LSV is a powerful water vape?

I can't stand the taste of combustion however I miss the strong hit from time to time!

What's your take?

My VAPOLUTION 2 is flavor city as well as the NANO.
I love the flavor profile of these vaporizers.
The MFLB was like smoking a joint so I gave it away with a battery collection.

I need about 30 grams a month to medicate.
With the efficiency of the LSV I was hoping to reduce my need by a couple of grams???

I have strong opinions about this. I think the Volcano has the 'purest' flavors, due to the rock solid temp regulation.

I think that 7th Floors vapes have the 'best' flavors, due to lack of temp regulation. Clearly, just my personal opinion, but let me explain why I feel this way.

Pure vapors taste wonderful to me. But with 7th Floors vapes, there is no way to guarantee that you are 'only' vaping, without a little bit of 'near combustion' mixed in. Think about the process on their vapes: Prior to you inserting your wand, whip, or whatever, the element is in there, just getting that air HOT. And you first inhale, that air is waaaaaay too hot. But...since the herbs absorb some of that, and its instantly followed by air that is closer to, if not perfectly on, actual vaping temperatures, that initial moment of 'way too much heat' only lasts for a millisecond. My opinion, is during that millisecond(s), the flavor notes that are produced are not pure vapor, and therefore altering the taste.

Additionally, since with 7th Floors vapes we have to control the heat based on our rate of draw, if that personal draw rate wavers, even slightly, you will effect the taste. Slow down for just a moment, or as you naturally slow as your lungs get full, and you will alter the process. This wavering, sometimes above vape temps, and sometimes below, will alter the flavors, IMO, greatly. (7th Floors vapes are not alone in this regard.)

It is this reason, that I enjoy the taste of 7th Floor's vapes. Maybe its my lingering desire to still smoke being ever so slightly satiated. So...Volcano... I feel is the purest. When I get a new flavor, I put it in the Volcano immediately, so I KNOW what it is supposed to taste like. And I really enjoy that. Then, I load it up immediately in my LSV or SSV or DBV, and I love that.

The MFLB is not a vaporizer that I use for any other reason than stealth and convenience. I find the taste to be...meh. Good, not great. When I am at home, its plug-in all the way. I REALLY enjoy taste from the Vapolution, but find that its just too small of a load and the glass is so fragile and under developed, so I don't use it. Again, just my $0.02.

Admittedly, my LSV only comes out when I am using a water piece. That's at least once a day! 30 vapes and counting, and I still rely on 7th Floor and S&B. My two co-pilots.

Everything is relative to the person using it. I happen to find that almost all strains taste the same when using the Volcano. The Volcano is a great vaporizer, but the amount of air mixed in with the the vapor while the vapor sits in the bag all contributes to a washed out flavor for me. The Volcano gets the job done for me, but the flavor just isn't there.

On the other hand, when using my LSV I feel I taste more of the full flavor profile from each individual strain than I ever could with my Volcano. By keeping the LSV set to a lower temperature and using a long steady draw you can really bring out the flavors with some wispy hits. Some of the flavors are so strong that they almost leave a tangy taste on the tongue after the draw is over.

Again, it's all personal preference and goes to show how different vapes affect people differently.

My theory is with water path and great strains this is the vaporizer to get the job done correctly!

I'm all wet saying that however I have a very positive feeling about this next chapter of my life.
During the 70's we smoked ZIG-ZAGS all day long at least 28 grams per week of top colas.
We threw away the trim just to bug people.
I loved smoking a fat joint.
3 big hits and give the rest away.
The flavor was not worth keeping the joint alive.
The LSV from my little research seems to relive that experience with preserving the flavor.

I'm sorry to rant and talk about the LSV so much it's just for me I think it's going to be the perfect fit.

I use it use it wit hthe transfer wand as well and the bud is resting on the screen thats right on top of the heat source . I still havnt figured it out why theres an accident of combustion one a day pretty annoyin. and I set it to maximum 3h . but normall its around 2h like you.

will do so basically I have to take out the wand in between hits and use it inverted? lets give it at try! also woudnt I need to heat it a bit more than usual since bud is further from heat source that way?

Maybe. Start out at 12:00 with a slow draw and go from there. Also, make sure to stir between hits.

Am I crazy or does vaporizing through water have less of an effect? I held off posting this for a long time since no one else seems to ever really mention it, but it really seems to do a lot less when I put it through water. Even a TINY little bubbler with a tiny amount of water seems to greatly decrease the effects. I swear I can put .2 in the wand and get absolutely toasted, but putting the same amount or even more up to ~.4 in the water attachment leaves me wishing I'd used the wand instead. It's not that it isn't working, I'm definitely getting clouds and it's getting milky inside the bubbler...it just seems like the water traps some of the good stuff.
