So this thread is made for others to vote and we can get a picture of how many of the original clouds (ticker, silent, and the + models. Not forgetting anything right?) are still going, or not.

As for me, my old ticker lasted the better part of 6 months April to oct of last year. I took great care of it and it never fell or was abused. It did die after a long car ride that allowed it to get quite cold (in the trunk) after a long session before I left.

I wrapped my could in a memory foam pillow and kept it in my backpack. so it was safe from bumps etc... at least I thought so. I had traveled with it lots before...

but anyways please vote. I made the poll public to dissuade poll cheaters. :)

Is there any chance to make the poll editable? Just in case if someone cloud die, he can change his vote :tinfoil:

I vote that my Cloud is still alive!
I'm very happy with it, the only cloud in the blue sky is sounds about warranty issues....
If my Cloud die during warranty time I expect that VXL will do is job, I understand that they lived difficult times but they must to honor warranty of a so expensive vape!
I hope that you will do...

Just curious why this thread won't be here very long. It seems to be a valuable thread to help people know better numbers on the failure rate of clouds, which would be a valuable service to the community. As well, from reading the cloud thread, one would get an impression of catastrophic failure rates, but the poll seems to indicate otherwise. Isn't it good for us to separate fact from fiction?

This thread has a kind of inflammatory nature to it but to be honest reading the Cloud thread makes them seem amazingly unreliable. I too just want to know if it's a case of too many people who HAVE had problems bitching and too many people who HAVENT had any problems staying silent.

Ive been wanting to buy a VXC product for a long time but it's the complaints in the threads on here that keep me from buying one...

Ok, you have the power but this thread could help us to know the building quality of the Cloud, if they have nothing to hide, where is the problem? If this thread disappear you'll make the worst publicity for VXL, this is your choice....

Our Cloud die after only 4 months (buy new 6 month ago) and Vapexhale wrote me that they can't do nothing for me ..... they only offer that I pay 250$ for a new one.... but I don't want to pay for a new one (with the same warranty ?!!), I only want that my warranty runs !
We'll never again buy a product from this company:cuss:

Do you think VXL told you this because they need time or they told you "no warranty" and go back...
This is make a big difference, I can understand they need time, I can't understand they don't honor warranty at all....

VXL tolds me in August to wait November... and now they it's "no warranty" and go back !
But I will make a similar vape by myself with this died Cloud, it's only a poor resistance around the glass tube !
And I don't see why VXL will not do the same with the new Cloud : "the warranty stops when you pass the door of the shop !!!!!!!!":uhoh:

The problem is that it can be viewed as either product advertising or product bashing, depending on which way the poll goes. Either other vape makers or VXL will be unhappy with it. The poll results can also be misleading. FC members do not account for the majority of owners, and even here it depends on who even knows this poll exists or whether they care to vote or not. Another factor in the Cloud saga that VXL can't be as open about as they'd like, for more than one reason, is that the manufacturing outfit they're in litigation with not only stole the design and tried to sell their ripoff version, they sabotaged the Cloud production in order to make VXL fail. So there's more to the admittedly high failure rate than is generally known.

So this thread has to stay in Ask FC as long as you like or it'll cost the company big bucks? Pardon me while I chuckle at both the logic and the threat. And here's the big question and the reason why this poll is meaningless. Why does the build quality of the Cloud matter so much when the obvious goal for the EVO was to fix the issues the Cloud had? I understand the curiosity involved, but the poll results won't provide data that does much but mislead. If the current ratio stays as it is, with 76% still working, does that convert to a solid statistic? The poll is still restricted to FC members only, and is dependent on who votes. You can also vote if you've never even seen a Cloud. Maybe you click yes or no just depending on whether you like the company or not.

If, after reading my explanation, you still think there's any real value here, as far as fact and fiction, I can't help you.

This will stay up as long as most Ask FC threads- a short time.

My OG ticker is still working despite over 20 drops and falls.
Man 20 times? Wow, can I come get baked with you my friend? I don't think I've dropped my coil that many times, are you including tip overs?

I have some nerve damage in my right hand, plus a very large dog. Between the two, lots of drops and knock-overs.

I understood your answer, I have my own business (not on the vape industry) and I know that when somebody is unhappy he speak a lot around him about his issue, more than a happy people that's why I understand your problem about statistics like that.

Perhaps I misunderstood because my english is not the better but you told me if lot of Cloud stops to works because the cloud manufacturer sabotages the production, so there is too much failure and VXL can't honor the warranty, isn't it?

I don't want to do a polemique, my cloud work like a beast and i'm really happy with it but I want to understand: what is happening if my cloud stops to work during warranty?
I hope the Staff can give me an honnest answer

it's not the staffs job to speak on behalf of the company. (I'll do my best to explain the current situation)

for now things are like this:

1. their top priority is to get the evo's out the door. once they do that they can get a positive cash flow going. without this, the business folds and nothing else happens.

2. once this has been taken care of I believe that VXL will then be able to relax a tad and then focus on the problem of old clouds.

3. as for my experience with the company. they are honest, and good people. They are a lot more like us "the common man" than they are "The man" and I for one can give them a little more time to get things together.

these guys work normal jobs as well as try to make this business work. they have families, and are real people.

all i'm saying is: give them some faith that they will do the right thing later. They haven't really given me any reason to think they won't. (do the right thing)

I didn't say anything about warranty. This post by stonemonkey55 is the latest repetition of what is necessary for them to do in order to stay in business and honor warranty claims - http://fuckcombustion.com/threads/vapexhale-cloud.5247/page-767#post-484711

All I'm talking about here is the likely disconnect (and what other factors may contribute to voting percentages not being truly representative of the real numbers) between poll numbers and reality from such a small sample. From this poll (to this point) it looks like about 3/4 of the units are still running. Read the Cloud thread and it seems like 3/4 are dead. Is either percentage accurate? Who knows? And VXL's # 1 goal with the EVO was to make it more reliable, as well as improve performance, so if the poll here ends up showing a high % of failures, is that supposed to say the EVO is going to be unreliable as well? The original obviously needed improvement, so what would bad poll numbers on a discontinued product say that we don't already know? That the company can't make a good product? The first Apple and IBM computers weren't very good, but they obviously made improvements. Those who preordered EVO's did so to get a discount and they're obviously counting on improved realibility, and this 2nd edition does have an additional year's warranty.

If you're interested in buying a used Cloud it's still a coin flip as to whether poll numbers are meaningful, but IMO the EVO is a much safer bet. At the same time you're looking at a big price difference.

But doesn't a 75% success rate not make people feel a bit better? I actually thought the numbers would be reported back higher for the non working units.

That's is how it feels in the VXL thread. It sounds like every cloud is doomed to fail and eventually will. But it turns out that there are many members who seem to have a working unit over failed ones? at least by this sample.

I think it's cool to see that it seems that more clouds are alive than dead. It's just that the squeaky wheels that are "singing" over in that thread and it gives a disproportionate view in the other direction.
