That sounds fair ... I can only imagine the clean up on that thing ... The carbon filter is almost a necessity haha :ko:

Psyshaman, you have a lot of faith, just handing over the torch and SV to smoker friends.

Haha forreals.
I always heat it up for them.
Sometimes I'll put on the heat cover before passing it too, like if they drunk

I used to heat it up for them, but got fed up with it. And I also found out that most people enjoyed using the torch after that initial hesitation! It only took a few quick touches of the hot exchanger and they've never touched it again. I figure if I'm capable they should be to and so far that has been true. Time will see if it seriously brands someone, but I give plenty of warning so it won't be on my head haha

If you own the supreme you should definitely know basic burn care haha
Don't put ice or ice cold water on it but submerge it in cool water if u can.

Got a response, he said I might or might not be able to get one in September, but it definitely appears he has limited stock left (although seemingly unlimited parts available if needed).

The only reason this sort of worries me is if my unit perhaps dies, or has a malfunction similar to SD, he might not have any more in stock to replace my damaged unit ... While repairing the unit might do the job, nobody can say for sure.

I'm not expecting any problems, but I did reply asking why he plans to stop production ... It just seems a bit odd to me. Perhaps he is making a new unit or something of that nature? I'll let you guys know the response.

My unit never actually had a malfunction, the moisture thing can happen to any of them when you first get it, easy fix and u can prevent it by unscrewing the thermometer and using it ajar the first two times.

NYC you're making me want to get a non perc'd straight shooter for the supreme
is it 18mm?

my beaker bottom + halo perc + 14mm creates a lot of drag

Greetings all,
I have had my sv2 for about 2 weeks. I really dig the concept, except for the incredible
restrictive draw!!!! I am familiar with drag as it relates to other types of vapes (log style).
However, this vape makes me feel like the top of my head is caving in trying to get a pull.
It hit like a monster the first time, then mega- dragggggg. I don't pack the cylinder, heck I
don't even fill it all the way. I am using a great torch, correct temps, etc.,
Please help.....If I can't get this thing to draw well, I will donate it to a worthy cause.
Thanks for any replies....

sounds like your screen is clogged
mine clogs up fast and it makes the airflow go from fine to baad

Thanks buds ;)
Yea, the screen is a bit tough to clean without just letting it rest and soak in ISO alcohol.

I am gonna order some extra screens.

It could also be the bong you are using causing all the drag, ever think of that? Idk what bong youre using.

Its a 18-14 reducing downstem, see how its 'low profile'? it doesnt have any more clear glass above the male joint, because its reducing from 18 to 14, it fits more neatly.

Its a great piece though, I just ordered an Alex K showerhead downstem for it :) which should make it a million times better!

Thanks for your replies,
I agree about the screen, it was slightly blocked. I have tried the sv2 thru an inline, thru
a beaker, and thru a micro. The larger volume pieces break the drag a little better. One thing
I failed to mention is that my grind is rather fine. This presents more resistance thru the cylinder.
I will try more runs with a coarse grind and see.

Yea, you dont want it TOO fine for this vape. I find a more coarse grind works rather well! I crush it down for the last few hits but then its done.

A good even grind, that isnt fine would be good, you dont want to block the screen or chamber.

A soft, clean toothbrush works well to keep the screen clean between bowls, I havent had to soak my screens yet, just a little work with the dry brush every time I empty a bowl into my ABV jar, and a couple times I used a bit of ISO on the brush, that worked well too. But the ISO alcohol is not really needed IME, as the brush cleans a lot by itself.

You might want your herb to be a bit more dry as well, herb thats too moist could be helping to clog the screen.

Great clouds NYCD!! I really like the supreme through a straight tube as well. Is that the ssfg straight on your video? I have got a buyer lined up for my Ehle 250 and will be shopping for a thicker straight tube to travel around with my beloved supreme. The tubes from ssfg look like great value, are you using a regular downstem in those vide or did it come with a diffuser when you got it?

Yes, thats the ssfg straight.

It usually comes with a standard downstem(with any ssfg tube unless otherwise specified), but for like 10 bucks more it could be a showerhead downstem. and I think ray makes some good showerheads! but alex k makes the BEST showerhead downstems around.

The downstem I am using in the video is actually a custom 9 hole GF(glasstafarian, but now hes mia) downstem, good diffusion but more airflow and a bit more chuggy then the ssfg sh.

videos will be up with the AK once it arrives :)

Nycdeisel,
I've noticed the pull problems as well. I countered it with dry, then grind, then dry, then vape. Also keep I it under .25g & keep my screens in rotation. Always two in iso. Same screens for months of HEAVY use. The "paper clip" came out on one, but I reused it/fixed. It's always your call if you need more; just keep them in iso too..just saying.
I guess I need to update my tag to 1st gen SV as well...

hello everyone, so I ran low on herbal material, so I stopped vaping for a day or two, I left a pretty fresh bowl in there so I didnt pack iy up again just check the screen and when I moved the unit I could feel something was loose. and its the heating block! the heating block has come loose and there is a small amount of wiggle room at its base where its attached to the wood body.

I can only think of my being rough with it, like hitting the sides to get all of the herb out(its easier to remove if you just took a hit) that may have caused this.

I am going to email Ed about this. I really do love my Supreme, it would be a damn fucking shame to part with it! I would at least get another if it was needed! :p
