Variety is the spice of life.

Yum, second-hand vapor :freak:

I heard a comedy routine once about how much better "first-hand" cigarette smoke is than second-hand, his point was that nobody wants to breathe in smoke that somebody else has exhaled.

He then went on to make the analogy that he
"sure wouldn't eat already-ingested food, that's just shit...

I am so excited internally but externally I'm stoic.

Since the cloud is a convection type vaporizer, am I right in assuming that if you need to leave the cloud mid session for 5-10mins, it won't be producing any vapour until you draw on it? Likewise, it won't be giving off an obvious scent until you come back (even if it's still on) and start hitting it?

My Cloud+ does produce vape and odour if its at 1-2 o'clock without a hydratube. as you say - convection. sitting there, the top of the cloud and bamboo is much hotter than below. and so the cooler air below will move through the bamboo and ELB and vape the load. this is not the intended function however. in my previous post I mentioned out the non-ticker non-plus cloud I had before would NOT do this - or at least it wouldn't do it as much. the cloud+ runs a hotter GonG which has some benefits but some downfalls too - one of which is convention when sitting without a hydratube. if I am going to let the cloud+ sit, I have made a habit of turning the temp down to low.

What if you just stuck a shot glass on top when not using it? The hot air is trying to rise to the cool air above, right (no really, right? I am no chemist)?

Also, you can really see if there is vapor accumulating if you do that.

Orrrrr, just don't put in an ELB and leave it? lol

Edit* richy beat me to it...but seriously, in my 1+ year using my Cloud every day, I've never seen the need to pre pack AND load into the Cloud, a fresh ELB. Or, the need to leave one in after a hit. If I want something ready, I pre pack an ELB, and leave it next to the Cloud. I figure if I can pick up a HT and set it on the Cloud, or pick up the Cloud to put it on a piece, I can also go the extra mile and put the bowl in just beforehand...but maybe I'm missing something?

I'm vaguely curious what shipping method they are using to Canada. not enough to bother the team, but enough to wonder if anyone in the forum knows. It could be the difference between a 3 day or 2 week delivery :D

boo! I guess I have no choice, but I hate those scam artists! fuck Fed ex and UPS. :puke:

it only means my vape cost 40-75 dollars more because of their extortion.

thats right, on TOP of importing fees (which i don't mind). they call it "BROKERAGE", I call it RAPE.

my volcano cost me and extra $127 and my cloud was and additional 50 at the door cause of those jerks.

Whats wrong with the regular post office? they are there for a reason... :(

*edit, I know, I know, been through this many times before... it's a merry go round! :horse:

VapeXhale lost a lot of money because of the post office. When USPS said "product delivered" when we asked for signature required, and a customer called and said they never received their cloud. We had little recourse. With FeDex this will not happen, and FeDex will stand behind their delivery. Also if these situations were just customers trying to game our system. Payapl considers FeDex deliveries and signatures on file much more binding then USPS. So in the case of a dispute VapeXhale when a FeDex delivery confirmation on hand can operate more securely.

Not to mention FedEx also gives us the option of: Changing where a package is going mid shipment, better service options, and eventually once we work with them for a while cheaper prices then USPS could ever offer!

We can not operate that way with USPS.

Fair enough, just make sure when they are headed to Canada proper customs forms are filled out so we dont get slapped with extra duty.
I've never been charged extra brokerage except when the package is not sent with the correct customs forms.

Being the business that we are in, we do everything by the books. So we are required to declare the value of any shipment for the actual value the customer paid. Anything else would be illegal to our knowledge Unless someone can show me where it is legal to fudge value of your shipments ? As a Vaporizer company, as we scale we expect to be audited and its little things like this that can cause a whole lot of trouble.

If any Canadians know of legal alternatives submit the information to our support portal "Attention Fulfillment Team" and we will review it. We don't like the fact you guys pay duty's but at the same time VapeXhale needs clean bookkeeping.

It's not the duty I mind paying. it's the "we hold your shit hostage till you pay us our bit too."

the normal post office has the importing fees too. I expect to pay those. it's the extra that those private companies charge that I object to. it's called a "brokerage fee" it's separate from importing taxes you pay. it's just an additional stab into the consumers side because they can.

corrupt, greedy, mobsters if you ask me.

USPS seems worse and worse lately. Unfortunately I've had ebay orders with e-shipping from sellers that never gets updated. Ebay estimates delivery, then 2 weeks later nothing... So seller resolves the case, then another week later, my order actually shows up in the USPS mail like nothing happened. STILL NO updated tracking LOL, no proof of delivery. I felt bad because the seller did ship the item and I did get it after all, just 3 weeks outside of the delivery window. 100% USPS fault but the seller was out the sale :( and ebay offered no way to pin blame on USPS instead of the seller. Absolutely awful and useless.

UPS is over-priced but never let me down.
My corporation only uses FedEx for international shipping, always works.

USPS is always late or lost every 3-4 transactions for me. And at least 4-5x per year I get mail at my house with the wrong address for a neighbor.

Shipping hard goods internationally is always a tricky situation, so good luck to the VXL guys! I'm in the US and can't even get small pieces of electronically tracked mail delivered within a month ROFL

Launch party!

Unless you're shipping for business and can take advantage of volume deals, like Troi mentions, the PO is cheaper until you get into large, heavy packages. When shipping expensive stuff though, you should consider the extra protection that other shippers can provide. Sounds like VXL learned about the hazards the hard way.

You can't get around duty. All you are paying is the required taxes as if you were buying the product in Canada. If you were to buy the product in a retail head shop in the US and declared it as your crossing the boarder back into Canada. You will be paying the same amount. The only difference is that your telling Canada customs that your bringing over a vaporizer which will have them search your car extremely well. I personally like having it shipped to my address, it just elevates all the stress involved in that process.
