The Solo is time tested, cheaper and is convection.
The Ascent has great taste but is new (unproven) and is mostly conduction.

Convection in vaporizers involves heat carried through air which is then passed through the material.
Conduction in vaporizers involves heat transfer from a solid heat source to another solid medium which is cooler in temperature.

they all have some of each going on, but yes...the solo is mostly convection and the dv is mostly conduction
Not true, if you're referring to herb efficiency. I find the Solo to be ultra- efficient!

I'd say the "hog" factor is all relative.it all depends on what you were using before by comparison. if you were a smoker, then I think you will find any vape at all is not a hog
for example. if you use a solo and then try out the PAX, I thought the PAX was a hog. it took 2.5x more greens and didn't get me 2.5x higher imo.
but the solo is a hog compared to a log vape like a purple days.
one to two bowls on the solo and I am good to go.
granted, If i was at home I'd use a harder hitting vape and get there even faster. but for portable needs the solo is my fave.

I don't actually own either but had been asking myself this question till I decided to order the Solo. My reason is because as said above its unproven and will likely have future models to come, whereas the solo seems to be pretty solid all round, has been through quite a few models now and can be had for nearly half the price. Now I am just waiting for mine to arrive

I love me some Solo, and find it be very efficient. When I use it as a primary vape instead of one of my desktop units, I usually notice reduced consumption.

The Solo will probably produce the most satisfying hits. I wouldn't use the term "best vapor" since that implies a better quality of vapor when really the difference is about density and volume. The Solo is also done with its growing pains since it's been out for a long time and all the wrinkles are ironed out- cheaper too.
