Well i took the plunge and picked up a second hand unit off tom funk for about half of what it would cost to get one sent over to ausiland (150$ shipping for a dildo LOL) . Fucking keen for it to arrive, im going to have to get out and about on purpose so i can use it :p Will share my thoughts on the unit after i get some practise in with it. Very fucking excited.

This is close to what I understand (and have done) with the exception that you don't do heating if the core is wet. If it sizzles, stop and dry it out. Having water (or ISO) in the pores of the ceramic and boiling it to steam there can break up the ceramic as I'm told.

http://static.squarespace.com/static/50a81e35e4b05bdedbd6e621/t/52211ebce4b0db0027e74b7d/1377902268644/User manual .pdf

Note repeated warnings "Do not to force dry using ovens or internal heating element, as this may damage the heating element".

Heating is probably OK, but keep the maximum temperature under 212F until the water is all gone.

The idea behind the 20/20/20 burn is to raise the core temperature hotter than it normally gets.

OF

Wow, must have missed that...i did notice my ceramic is chipped near the gaps a little but i assumed it was from using a toothpick. But ive cleaned mine 3-4 times since i got it and always did 20/20/20s while there was still liquid inside (shook and blew most of it out before but it seems impossible to get it dry unless you wait a couple days...I guess thats good to know, sorry for advising otherwise...

Also missed the part about heating. I only heat mine to 200F, but is this a new warning? I was always under the impression it was fine to put in the oven...

Ovens are fine IMO as long as you keep it under 212F. Not all are overly accurate or can be set that low I guess, mine does fine (I checked with a thermometer).

FWIW I use the oven to dry them out, but if I hear any sizzle the next morning when I go to do the 20/20/20 burn (or just testing before reloading) I hit the oven again. I also think laying it on it's side drys it out better than standing it up like I first did.

I got the impression from TV that they've had enough field returns that seem to have died this way (miss calibrated ovens or just guys in a hurry.....) to convince them it's best to just advise 'no ovens'.

You still can but only after it's dry, right? Hitting it with the torch is much tougher on it that putting it in a too hot oven or even running the internal heater.

If you're going to do it more than a few times (and carefully then) I agree, Ti is the call.

OF,
Any suggestions on the 510 drip tip for the EO core? Lost the one that came with the Cera and I'm sure the plastic ones will just melt. Are there any drip tips like TV that can withstand the EO temperature?

I'd rather buy a mouth piece at an e-cig store locally than from them as shipping costs can easily buy me a second mouth piece. Maybe the glass blown ones are worth a try? :)

At your local ecig shop they should have endless supplies of these, also in aluminum and steel. I still prefer the ufo on my EO because there its no possibility of foreign debris making its way into the heating chamber (sand is a bitch in florida!)

I don't think a metal one would be a good idea from the conduction of heat but figured those $2 mouth pieces for e-cigs would melt. The UFO mouth piece gets hot way too quickly for me. Only use it when I'm too lazy to clean or attaching it to a water pipe.

Thanks clouded vision for the link!

How long until the drip tip is too hot to hit? Does it ever get too hot? Sometimes after using my UFO for a couple minutes straight itll burn my lips.

I'm still waiting for an official adapter, though I did break out the DART the other day and put some of that Sour D oil in it before heading out for the day. That was pretty good. Lately though my Ultra has been driving a ViVi Nova Mini with a 1.8ohm head for juice. I'm wondering what the EL core with the adapter would be like... in time...

Well i got the cera today, early morning arrival in the post from tom funk, sadly i couldnt test it out till after work, which was very difficult but i managed. Then at 6, rushed home and got this thing going. Blazed two bowls out of it just doing my own simple style of letting it heat up then hitting it slow for a long time, then hitting it harder for the second, third, n tokes. Went well and felt a nice stoned, was a very head high i normally vape at about 215c in my exq, i assume this hits at lower temps because it was a very head high, i couldnt shut up. After getting nicely high using the cera my own way i went for the exq for a while then chilled for a few hours then just now have loaded a fat bowl into it using the pro method detailed on vapopedia and hit that shit and boy did it deliver, yeah it does get shit hot, but all you need to do is get a glass of ice and some glad (saran) wrap to line the ice so the cera stays nice and dry, chills the tip and such very quickly i have found. Combined with the silicone cover the heat has not been an issue for me, but it does get fucking hot. If im every freezing cold somewhere and i have my cera i could probably use it to stave off hypothermia. This might be a feature tbh.

Anyway pretty please with the unit so far. The issue now is doing the research on these vape pens has made me very curious of BHO and using it in them, my understanding is you can walk around with the same dab all day and just hit that shit and go to space whenever you want. That is appealing to me, but BHO is impossible to buy, so thats a long term DIY project, also need the right core. Hopefully dont blow myself up. But yeah, thing hits solid if you do it right, even if your not getting clouds your definitely getting stoned off it, i barely saw a cloud on my first bowl but still was nicely fried.

The fact i have written so much is proof the vape is good i got really into typing and my fingers just took control.

Also good news, looks less like a dildo in reality than photos, looked a lot fatter in the photos LOL

TLDR, good vape buy it,

Oh the anticipation.

Here's my story.

I purchased my pre-owned Cera from a fellow in Guam.
F****** Guam!
That was fascinating to me. The travels of one product from the states to a U.S. territory, then back to Good ol' California.
To be thoroughly enjoyed.

My Cera had arrived and worked for a couple days as I recall it happening. Then the strap gave out. It had not been sent in when the pre orders needed revision on the internal Cera body strap.

So I sent out my Cera to get worked on & the core so it could be checked out as well.

I'm happy to say my sleep is at its best and my throat isn't irritated because I haven't combusted in months.

The comfort level of thermovape products has always had Me curious on what's coming out next, but I'm always so Damn comfortable with the products I already have. Whatever is next. I'm just happy I've already exexperienced thermovape products that are definitely worth my money.

About 50 bowls in and going strong

Ok so me and cera have been together now for about 36 hours. Same deal again today, couldnt vape up till after 6 so i was ready to get messed up tonight with cera and watch some quality internet content. Last night, i burned myself quite badly with my extremeQ, by grabbing the wrong end of the cyclone bowl, anyway, this lead me to try and solve ceras heat issues, i need to retract my previous statement and say that ice is annoying because you simply end up either cooling the core too much, making the tip too moist which recondense your vapor, and so on, you cant fight condensation basically.

So, with my extremeQ out of action because i dropped the bowl on the floor and smashed it after it burned me, i made the worlds most simple and effective modification to cera possible, i simply snipped the glass tip and a bit of tube off my extremeQ, and bam, the tube will stay attached to cera if you mount it while she is very hot even after it cools and baiscally just turned cera into a rival for my extremeQ, its hitting me just as hard now that i dont need to care about burning myself at all ever im coughing like a bitch and very high after 1.5 bowls. I normally vape from about midday onwards except for two/three days a week when i have work, so i started my sesh tonight basically totally sober (for me) and now i am totally blitzed.

I apologise for personifying the word cera, imagining the vape into a girl called sarah really helps with the dildo vibe :p

Anyway here is a picture of her wearing her new mouthpiece.
2q2nxu8.jpg

I should stop now i sound insane.

Edit, for those who might be like, zomg your corrupting ceras all ceramic body with that plastic tube, its the extremeQ oem whip tube so its safe as houses, also you could easily just go glass to ceramic and still seal properly, but you need to do a bit of a balancing act when your hitting it so you dont break the seal.

EDIT2: i really hope i wasnt the first person to think of doing this with the CLL core because surely the world is not that retarded/i am not that intelligent.

EDIT 3: I have now totally perfected the design, after consuming more cannabis though the cera, and getting extremely blazed because i could hit it with total impunity and take hits that honest to god came close to a good exq hit. I realised the silicone cap could definitely improve the heat situation even more. So anyway what i did was get the silicone cover, and slip it over the top of the entire set up as pictured, then pressed the silicone down over the top cap as you would normally, taking care not to let the lip of the silicone slide under the plastic tubing. This has the effect of locking the tube in place basically permanently. It will support the weight of the unit with battery even when you swing it around a bit. Yep so now the unit is perfect for vaping flower. I will maybe upload a photo but im sure you can all understand what i am saying.

As not requested but here it is anyway, the final version of the extremeQ tip mod, the perfect portable vaporizer for using with loose leaf. The hits are massive once you dont need to worry about heat build up.

Very early on in Beta testing I was doing straight runs in the 15 plus minute range (to the point it became hard to hang onto the bottom of the Cera.....), I quickly started using an inch long piece of 1/2 inch ID Silicone tube for this use. Later, using the 'advanced technique' most of us use (rather than the more simple 'let it run' mode) I abandoned it, but it's still in my Cera kit and sees some use. Remember, this was before the silicone caps happened as well, the tube stays put on it's own.

Here's a mention of it, even after the prototype cap came out:
"Yes, as I said before it gets harder and harder to 'pucker up' if you run it long times like I am. The MP itself is OK, it's the cover around it that tries to burn your lips.....while you try not to chip a tooth as you dutifully test on. Or at least it was distracting. So I put a one inch long piece of Silicone tube (500F rated) on the MP itself. Half inch OD thin wall, it grabs on the straight part of the MP just fine and makes it easy to find and use the business end without looking (something I'm prone to do while involved with supervising the garden don't you know....and testing, of course). That's why I can tell you the time of the session, basically how I'm hitting, but not the count. So yes, I'm using a very short piece of tube and will recommend folks try it in the end I think."

As a fun note, this was a year ago, in those dark, pre Cera days. My how time flies.......

Anyway, I still think the Silicone tube is worth trying if this is an issue. Makes for more relaxed 'sipping' I think.

Ah nice, i was sure i cant have been the first person to think it up, it was just so simple and works so perfectly, but its always so satisfying to solve a problem on your own even if you could have just looked up a solution :p . The glass isnt even needed TBH, if you take it out and just leave the small tube nub its still pretty much as good, but i find the extra distance with the mouthpiece improves the units ergonomics and use comfort some how.

EDIT: I read some of that thread, OF are you really 98? Blaze on mate that is a solid effort.

Sometimes I sure feel like it....... And then some.

I forget who said 'some days I'm older than others', but it's sure true.

Thanks for noticing, glad to help out if/when I can. Truly 'a tough job, but someone's gotta do it...'. Teamwork, you know.
