Magical Butter

Just curious, how long did you run that butter maker? And what type of material did you run? Who much butter? In my book half oz 2 sticks. Based on high grade buds.

I ran the maker through the butter cycle (approximately 2 hrs 20 minutes including the decarb cycle). I used a 1/2oz of top shelf (G13 to be exact) in 4 sticks of butter. I've been vaping the same bud for a couple weeks, it does the job nicely :).

The recipe I saw showed 7-14 grams for 2 sticks of butter. So I did the lower end, which would be 1/2oz for 4 sticks. I decided on that mainly because when I did the math out that would put a little more than 1/2g per brownie. I average 1g per day vaping, so I went with that.

I do believe the machine did its job, and that the brownies have goodies in them. I just don't know that edibles affect me in a way that I notice. In the past I have had friends say they felt effects from edibles that I did not. Everybody is different. If there are effects, I've never noticed them. So to keep attempting edibles seems wasteful to me.

One of the reasons I bought the machine is that my wife won't vape or smoke, but she keeps asking me to make her some fun brownies. So maybe she'll enjoy them more than I did :).

Thanks for the update. What a bummer. All sounds really spot on, however I always let my butter go at least 4-5 hours. Mostly more like six hours. But i have never used the machine you have. How much was that thing? I was interested in it after reeding about it. How was the smell in the house did it really cut that out? Thanks for sharing.

I have tried to make butter a couple times with ABV (for a few hours on the stove), and this smelled much less than that. But it does not eliminate the smell completely. For the full cycle it definitely smelled like herb in the house.

The machine is $175 on their website. It really seems to do an amazing job. For people that make and enjoy edibles I would recommend it. It makes the process incredibly simple. I don't want my experience to reflect badly on the machine. I honestly think it is just me & edibles.

Here is a pic of the butter I have left:

Hey there, did you use flowers, sugar trim, or leaf? If its not a high grade of material going in you will experience headaches on days 2 and 3. I myself do t enjoy eating candy and brownies everyday as my stomach can't deal. You may consider oil that lasts a long time and once you have some time with it it's easy to regulate does age. Enjoy your felling of wellness.

If you read above, I wrote what I used and it was flower and and the bit of kief. All top grade stuff as I have no time to play around. I have been using a melon baller but because I am really not a candy person it can be the sugar or just allergies as I will never know unless I know in advance that my headaches won't be bad that day. That is a not really gonna happen unless it is a stretch of a week or so that they evened out with the weather. If I put it in a jar I can just scoop a baller full ever hour and keep my head where it needs to be I suppose.

I can't seem to find the posts on making capsules with coconut oil in the magical butter. Can somebody point me to it?

Also:

I have found out that making cooking oil works real well and is potent and loses minimal amount compared to butter. Here is my small but easy way to dose yourself:

20 oz veggie oil
18g bud (good stuff)

250 degree oil cycle (runs 2 hours). When you are done, you will have dark green or black if you used abv.
You lose about 10% of the oil in the process so it leaves you about 18 oz of oil. Each 1 oz of oil, or 2 tablespoons is equal to 1 gram of bud.

Put 1 cup (8oz) in a brownie mix and cut into 8 squares. Easy dosing.

Hi guys and girls!

I'm having a BIG problem here and i would ask you, dear members of this board how you think i should try a "tackel"this.

Bought my BM2 the 25:th of this month thrue their website, payed with PayPal.6 hours later i read that this B;2 ONLY works with 110V system, not 220 which i'm connected to.
Pronto, asap i send the not one But to this date 5 e-mails to "sales and support",not one freaking answer in 4-5 days.
Now i get a tracking mesage that my unit has arrived to Thailand,i do not know what to do.I said before that a stepdown converter would cost somewere between 80-ruffly 100US...well my friend who is working as a electrician, said that i would have to buy a stepdown conveter that is good for around 3000-4000Watt.
He explanied it like this:If you have an appliance drawing, let us say 800watt max load, then i need 3 to 4 times that wattage to be on the "safe"side, not buring/overheating the unit..Is that true?
If so,well it's going to cost me like 150-->250US to buy that kind of converter.

Really i do NOT know how and what to do,please input..

TIA...//AMiA

They may have been at that champs thingy but I suggest calling if you can....maybe use skype call or something as you can open an account and get free calls.

EDIT: I never put up my caramel pic. The butter got some sludge in it by accident not a biggy. I could have scrapped it off but didn't bother.

You probably could grind herb into a fine powder and add it, but I am not sure it would taste so good. You would also get less of a dose per candy, so not really worth the effort.

If someone else has tips, would be great to hear.
Ive messed around with candy and just used the type i wanted as flavoring to a regular hard rock candy recipe (melt watermelon jolly ranchers) or heard jello packet for flavoring works. But definitely use a candy thermometer and go to hard crack on temp. And after u can keep it in low so it doesnt harden up on you. Invest in silicone molds and candy funnel u will thank me later. And keep a water pot warm to dip the funnel to remelt candy if it hardens. Caramels can be done this way but be sure when u do reach soft crack let it cool off to about 165 before adding butter so doesnt burn out your thc yet still activating it. And whip until butter mixed in sometimes adjust thickness by adding more sugar. Im kinda baked so story everywhere. I just got mb2 wanting to make capsules as my first test. Hit me back up if u have questions or which recipe u want to try

If they are successful we want to know all including exactly what you did.
Ok i made my first round of coco oil and butter in machine. I definitely love the ease of use. Ive researched and most places said oil was where its at but i made a batch of brownies and it was a clean but hint of coconut taste in it for sure but decent hit on two little squares. I use the mini brownie molds so get same size consistensy. I also made candy with the butter total success ripped outta my mind but i did double the dose being me and wifey smokes almost four fattys a night our tolerance is pretty up there. So this was the reason i turned to edibles wax and working on capsules next. But i have pics of both oil butter extract and pics of the finished products. Problem is i have no clue how to post

Thanks for the pics! Wow, that's some dark butter! mine comes out much lighter though I think it lightens up a lot as it cools. Is that the case with your's? Have you gotten around to making capsules yet? I haven't and am anxious to hear details if/when you do.

The oils do get lighter when cooled off. I did a ratio of 10:1 butter instead of 7:1. And i used urkel og and girl scouts in my recipe. Yes i did make capsules but im not sure how to take it. I guess im just expecting a outwr body experience. Which with my excessive tolerence burning a jay is like a cigarette nowdays. So how strong suppose to be not sure. I made it w the coco oil which is strong eaten in brownie form but im not sure whats the right dosage. My wife was my guinea pig she ate a tbs of freshly made oil and she was barely opening her eyes but she drank wine so could be a mix factor. But a dosage would prob avg 5 capsules. And being in gel capsules i have no clue how long dissolve times take. I will try to see if i can put couple capsules in tea to see if heat will activate the herb and have a better hit. Ive seen alot of people though make the caps they would just decarb the meds and place powder form inside each capsules but havent tried that route. Though if cooking it down suppose to intensify the process thats why i went the oil way. Well to the end of my babble the candies have a nice taste good hit and last 1-2 hrs

My first batch turned out this way with caramel...because of the use of cream I had to go up to hard crack....but important process keep the candy thermometer in there and wait for the temp to drop back to soft crack before you incorporate your butter to not kill the thc in there... I liked caramels but because I do pass my edibles out I need it to withstand hot heat in Florida without it melting so candy cookies brownies for me.

Okay alot says heat activates it so Im guessing put this in your teas....also edible eaters drink it with nicer warm milk...help ur space head better

Thanks for the new pics!

If you used the MB2 to make your oil then everything has already been heated (decarbed) and there's no need to reheat. Fat should help with absorption so the milk is not a bad idea but if there is coconut oil in there you've got plenty of fat and if you used lecithin as well that also will help with absorption.

BTW, I expect a moderator will mention that going forward you should not do back to back posts but combine multiple responses into one post.

I just came across this, it looks interesting:
"Possibly the most potent cannabis edible
you can make with your butter"

All Budder Traditional Shortbread
(chocolate coating is not medicinal and is optional)

You will need

250g Cannabutter (delicious with normal butter but not as effective against pain)
210g caster sugar
350g plain flour, sifted

100g chocolate optional

Method

Prep:10min › Cook:20min › Ready in 30 min

1. Preheat oven to 180c Prepare non stick baking tray or cookie sheet on a baking tray.

2. Cream the butter with sugar, until light and fluffy. you do this by keep mixing together until they look as one and nice and creamy, i had to do it by hand but there are easier ways. xD

3. Add flour until well combined, use hands to form into a dough.

4. Roll out to the desired thickness and cut into circles or squares or make small balls of dough with your hands and flatten like a patty.

5. Place on prepared tray and bake in preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until slightly golden. Remove from oven and leave on tray for 5 mins then remove to cool on a wire rack.

6. Whilst cooling melt some chocolate.

Ahhh im new to forum usage not sure how whole thing works ill keep my posts within posts. So the decarb starts automatic i dont have to press anything? Maybe why my oil not strong cause i used 160 temp. Online says oil keep within 200 maybe ill try higher temp. I like the oil but coconut flavor strong. And even butter when i do dbl boiler method i keep round 200. But first timers following machine rules. Im new to technology so advice on insuring strong outcome on temp and time would be helpful in tweaking recipes.
