Still loving my Solo + PNWT setup except for one problem; Drooling.

Anybody else has problems DROOLING into their PNWT at times???

@ataxian How did you connect that mouthpiece to your PNWT? Is it snug?

I haven't had that issue, but my twin brother seems to have a drooling problem when he uses my PNWT too. it drives me crazy when he passes it to me and I have to wipe off his drool. GROSS!! :)

Hey guys

I just received my pvhe gong and pnwt yesterday and took it for a rip last night and noticed few things.

The pvhe gong is not straight and has a slight curve leaning to one side. This won't be a huge issue but when I attach the pnwt it is more noticeable. Is this normal?

Also the mj has fallen into the solo oven both times ive used so far. With the stock stem the mj has always stayed in the stem. Is this the norm with pvhe gong?

Lastly, the pnwt when on top of the solo, it wobbles and doesn't feel very stable. If I was to lift up the pnwt, it would just popup from the solo and detach.

Thanks for the replies. Maybe im nitpicking but just want to ensure that I don't have a "out of norm" pvhe gong.

Thanks

You're just fine, not to worry.

With the possible excepting of the spilled load part. If the stem/cure/grind/load doesn't want to stay put when you invert the stem, just do like the rest of us, invert the Solo?

You're welcome, of course. Enjoy the rig, it's a good one.

I believe the pvhegong adapters are hand-blown, and it is fairly normal for them to be a little crooked. I have three different pvhegong's and 2 of the 3 are slightly crooked. It's normal. as far as the wobbly PNWT, did you make sure to install the o-ring that came with the pvhegong? It should make it much more stable. If I don't have my o-ring installed, my stems are all wobbly...in fact, my normal solo stem will fall out if I turn it upside down without the o-ring. With the o-ring, however, all my stems are nice and tight.

From what I've read, the official Arizer Solo 9V heating power supply is 5A for a total of 45W. Assuming that is correct, does anyone think that this is a good cheap alternative to the $50 official version?

http://www.ebay.com/itm/AC-Converte...=US_Server_Power_Supplies&hash=item3382da3159

The connector can be reterminated by the seller before it is shipped, so that the proper connector is used. The proper connector is 4.0x1.7mm, right?

Yes, slanted PVHEGonGs are "normal" but still can be a bummer. I have 1-14mm that is not slanted , 1 - 18mm slanted/wobbler and a PV non HE 18mm GonG not slanted.

not slanted > slanted.

But no one else makes PVHEGonGs

I make a test with different water paths.

I like the PNWT a lot however for me personally I love the cheap bubbler from PLANET VAPES:

I'm happy with the PNWT.
Just this black leaf bubbler has a better air path for my liking!

Yeah I understand that no one but PV makes the gong. I'm actually surprised at this as it doesn't look like a complex piece.

I guess I'm a bit let down with the gong being slanted and how that affects the stability of the pnwt. More so BC of how complete and awesome the solo is. I wanted the perfect companion to the solo and I thought pnwt was it.
It just would have been bliss if everything was perfect but I'm just blabbing now.

Thanks for the reply guys!

Yeah if the gong works I would just let it be. Mine was wobbly even with the ring and my experience with their "customer service" was terrible. Absolutely a nightmare

Can someone point me to a picture of PNWT and the gong that is used for attaching it to the
solo. Please
It's not the Pinnacle one but pretty much the same and you should jump on the sale for $50 shipped. I missed the UPS guy today so i'll have that one tomorrow and you get the gongs at

Is the solo done charging when the 7 light is solid? Or does the charge light need to stop blinking green as well?

The latter. It's ok to unplug while still blinking if you're in a hurry, but for "full charge" you should wait until it stops (by the way, Solo's full charge < battery's full charge, IIRC).

Thanks for the fast reply. Just got it in the mail today, had to go to Chicago, and forgot the manual...

I can let it charge overnight correct?

Yes you can and a full charge is when you get a solid green light. Of course as I was told when I first got my Solo... if you don't let it charge 100% by stopping @7 before the solid light and (this is the big one BTW) you never run the battery until it's completely dead, you can get 2x or more the battery life. Just FYI.

That being said I forget mine on the charger all the time. No big deal, the important part is not to fully discharge the battery.

Solo arrived yesterday. First impression, feels solid, has a little weight to it. Looks like a perfect fit for a cup holder in my car. Not the most stealthy portable with the glass stems and all but good enough. Charged the unit fully, then did a couple burn offs, then called it a night.

Just woke up fresh and wanted to get a really honest first session. Went with the bent stem as it looked very comfortable, and packed it up with pretty fine scissor cut herb. First thing I noticed was the bowl didn't hold as much product as I was expecting (almost half as much as a PnP bullet). Inserting the stem was a little difficult. The included instructions warned about this and I also read about the issue here so it was no surprise. Applied a little bit of firm pressure and was in. I turned the solo on to the 3rd setting and waited for it to fully heat up.

Rips were a hair wispy, and draw was a little restricted, but flavor was okay and did not dissipate too bad from start to finish. After the auto shutoff I went up to level 4 to finish the bowl off. Even at 4 the flavor wasn't terrible. I also like how the solo doesn't get hot in your hands or on your lips.

I was surprised how long the bowl lasted for how small it was. Very efficient.

The ABV was pretty light in color (which is what I like). I'm not one to stir my bowls but it looked as though the ABV from the solo could go another round after a good stir.

The solo is a good vape for me. It will serve a purpose and I feel happy with my purchase. Very reasonably priced.

These are my initial impressions after only one bowl. I will update this thread with more thoughts after a week or so of test driving.

I was just looking at the pictures of the FBOMG and the PNWT and couldn't @PlanetVape just cut and weld the end of a solo stem to them to make them just one piece? Didn't they have a shorty PVHES GonG adapter that they made? How does the shorty look?

I already have the Fbomb but just ordered the PWNT before the sale ends.

Figure good to have a backup in case the Fbomb breaks, and also I can keep one in an alcohol container while I use the other one, and keep them in rotation.

In case you are interested in the sale, it goes through 10/31 and you can use the code pnwt50

at http://thevaporblunt.corecommerce.c...-4-mm-Micro-shower-Water-Tool-Attachment.html

I also followed up with a note requesting they send one without the logo etched on it...
