Finally going to pull the trigger and go ahead and order the unfinished model in 2 days. Does anyone have any good beginner tips and/or suggestions?

I have used my firewood with a stem from my woodeez log vape and it was the best taste i have got from it as it was pure convection. I used the stem without the lid , the nylon part of the stem has a taper that created a seal with the top of the firewood. I think a custom stem like for old style log but with a bigger diameter metal part to fit the firewood would transform this vape but you might end up using more battery power to vape a bowl.

I got my Firewood walnut via Massdrop a couple weeks ago. It's cool. It is made very well and is a thoughtful design. Firewood has an old school dugout thing going for it....very natural device. For a first vape....this isn't for me. I love the analogy that this is like a manual shift device vs. an auto device. I am simply not knowledgeable enough in the world of vaping to accurately and manually manage the device. The thing works GREAT....I think that I don't work it so great :) This Firewood is a bit more work to use than I wish to endure personally....there is a learning curve. Unfortunately I have no prior vape experience from which to easy my curve. I very wildly and with blind abandon bought a PAX today and thus far find it VERY impressive.

Did anyone get a tracking number with theirs when they ordered? I placed my order and got the email that it shipped out friday but the tracking number spot is blank. Just curious how it works if its even shipped yet.

Ive used this thing for 3 bowls so far. It blows the MFLB out of the water in terms of vapor production. I also like the fact that when its in use its "one" piece, not an additional mouthpiece and battery. I can produce nice blue vape clouds, or dense milkier clouds if I like. Im still learning how to use it but I feel Ive got a really good handle on it so far. I can get every ounce of goodies out of my product and get super dark abv without combusting. I could see how this could be a problem for some because if you dont control your airflow I can see it as a possibility to combust. The feel and weight of this thing is something else, its just so natural. The manual control also compliments this natural feel even more. I give it a SOLID 8/10. Ill be reaching for this vape the majority of the time from now on.

I still think this vap needs a different way of loading the herb and eliminating the conduction going on.
I said in an earlier post about using a log vap stem , I have started using the centre piece from the vapbong (vaponic) as its a little bit bigger than the log vap stem and it works nicely but the glass isnt very nice to carry around with you for fear of breaking it. I am trying to get some 3/8 stainless tube to make a stem for this as log vape stem is 1/4 and load is a bit too small. This vape can truly be a portable log vape and by using the stem it make loading and unloading very easy not to mention the very tasty hits.

I've had my Firewood 2-3 months now and really changed my life.

Pretty bummed, just dropped it on it's side today on a wood floor from about lap high sitting in my chair.

The wood cracked on both sides and the glass cracked. It wasn't very far, but I think it's they way it fell flat on it's side, and being hot at the same time possibly.

Vape still seems to work for the most part, there's vape escaping the sides a bit now, but just in between hits.

I'm wondering what theoretically I'm loosing by the outer glass being broken. Seems to vape a little hotter.

I really have no issue with the loading. Dont get me wrong though, it would be nice if he could make a mini plastic funnel that would "fit" in the bowl loading area but so far Ive had no problem with it. Loaded at work, in the bathroom, and in the car. Rarely spill anything. I am still learning the draw on this vape though. Sometimes I can take massive rips and draw really hard and other times I have to sip.

Guys I need your help regarding a Massdrop order...I had received a email from MD that my firewood was shipped 10 days back and yesterday I received a box...this box surprisingly had only a power adapter, and it clearly mentioned the same on the label...
I have been trying to contact MD support since then , asking them if they ship vaporizer and power adapter separately for international orders, but I am yet to receive a response from them..
Can anyone confirm the procedure , or can anyone confirm the delivery procedure for international order...I feel scared as its already been too long and I had joined other MD offers too..and if there is a mistake with my very first order only then I would like to cancel or at least try to get my money back..please gimme ur opinion.

Doesn't firewood ship these? I thought massdrop just arranged the payments.

My guess is it will be blamed on customs (but the label...), which blows so best of luck but I would try contacting firewood as well. It couldn't hurt in any case to bring them into the loop.

Hello friends, this is my first participation.
I am a recent purchaser of a Firewood.
Right now I'm very happy with it, but I would like to change the brass parts for a steel.

Is it possible? especially the inner chamber.

Regards and good vapor.

Sorry for my English.

Hello and welcome

the bottom brass screen cannot be changed.

you can replace the MP one by a stainless steel screen ....i did it with a part of a screen coming from my EQ but i think it isn't perfect alone ,my favorite set is : steel screen inserted in the tube + brass screen on the outside as flat as possible to avoid clogging + the spring to fix the brass on the tube.

Man Im really starting to enjoy the hell out of this thing! I had been loading in enough so that the mouthpiece was LIGHTLY packing down the load. I wasent getting massive clouds but they were still nice. I put some just under the mouthpiece, left it super loose, and took out the screen from the mouthpiece and just left the spring in...WOAH. Im blown away, Perfectly dark brown ABV and blowing out really nice sized hits now!!! In love with this vape!

Well, I finally had some time to become a kit loading / unloading Firewood

I think it's only complaint I find this a good vaporizer.

drops just inside the camera and only excels this tab to pull it.

The first is the simplest but it only works to download the material is the least consumed.
The second battery is drawing too much is not feasible.
The third is the most balanced, spend a little more battery but it makes up for in ease of use, and can carry loaded, I took two and I'm leaving the loading.

the go trying to see how it works the subject.

Just a quick update that I neglected to post on my issues from a couple weeks ago. Customer service was excellent and very quick even though the MD crush was still on. Top and mp attachment now mate much better, and the no heat issue was due to user error. Turns out that there's a thermal cutoff fuse that I blew (twice) by doing multiple 90-second burnoffs without air movement. Sometimes I do dumb things. Anyway... I've been using the Firewood for a few days now, and it's a keeper. I love it.

hey marduk,
does termal fuse reset itself or does it have to be sent back for repair.
I tie an elastic band around my heat switch to pre heat while i fill my log vap stem with herb.
i never timed it but i probably do leave it for about 90 seconds.

Has to be sent back for repair. I'm not sure if they make thermal switches (the ones that reset themselves) small enough to fit in the Firewood. But if they did, it would nice to have that instead of a thermal fuse.

My guess is that you'll be OK, because I did multiple burnoffs with only about 90 seconds of rest between them, so there was additional heat buildup that wouldn't exist with just one pre heat like you do.
