Discontinued Supreme Vaporizer

@Raf007
the supreme takes little under 2 min. to heat up, gives you a hit that will knock you back 5 ft., and duff's the bowl excellently.
if you want a vape you can hit outside when doing activities, DONT get a genie! you wont be able to hit it outside if the wind is even slightly blowing. always have to get the perfect angle with the flame (or else you get burnt wood). if the flame goes into the coil, burnt herb.
overall i would STRONGLY recommend a supreme.

for what it's worth, I agree with Portability in regards to Supreme > Vapor Genie - the Supreme gives you VHW/SSV comparable hits and while the torch is a drawback, the accurate temp reading takes a lot of the guess work out. If you can deal with the torch, then the Supreme is a great choice, if not, I can see that being the deal breaker for many.

I have to admit I was one of the people who was intimidated by the torch / temperature of this vaporizer. Having tried it for the first time tonite I honestly have to say, it's not that scary. The standard torch is easy to control, and the thing that surprised me is that even when the SV is at 280* I could still touch the metal (pulling my finger off instantly, but still).

Another note, I found what I believe to be the ideal low profile case for it.

i dont see why the torch affects people so much.
its just like an oversized lighter, its not gonna bite.
i just decided to go with the blazer torch instead of the torch it came with.

and while the torch is a drawback,
It's not a drawback if you're a pyro :ninja: this vape sounds strangely satisfying.

My order is done, Ed is very prompt with his emails... now the waiting game begins :D

Can't wait to milk out my new HVY tube

From Ed's email

Please note that the old torch was replaced by the new torch early this weekend.
Hopefully it's just as good, if not better... I assume it is.

Pssssst , you can still get the old one elsewhere if you want ;) But if you really want a good torch I'd recommend the Blazer GB2001. Now that's a torch.

Thx ! I am not scared by the torch (what a "strange" idea :brow:), but the need of torch+gaz, and the 2 min makes the Supreme not fitted for where I intend to vape.
Coz the reason I asked if the Supreme works with a candle flame, is that I was looking for a portable to vape mainly if not only, when I go caving once a week (not really caving but in the quarries under Paris wrongly named catacombs).
So it means, no wind at all, some crawling, shocks for the bagpack, and ....drunkness, all during at least a few hours when not all night long. And I don't want to depend on anything else than a regular lighter (or a candle if necessary).
Anyway, I got the Genie today.... And reached combustion on the 4rth puff :D ... It's clearly not made for someone who never vaped... hopefully it's not my case and I found the sweet spot quite easily after that.
But I'm afraid that a lot of (drunk) people will combust when trying it :|

Any one use a propane torch to heat theirs? Im looking into getting one but butane torches dont seem to work well here at high altitude. Also, does any one use theirs while lamp working? I fix scientific glass and make beaker mugs f so I end up sitting in front of a very hot torch (a new CC burner!) for a couple hours a day. So it would be super convenient and I bet I could get a quick heat up time, but it might be too much and melt the metal.

Raf, I completely gave up on trying to get friends to use the vapor genie, even sober ones had a hard time with it. I moved onto a launch box and its much easier for friends to use, I just have to pull out the battery after they hit it because they never remember to.

Yeah, that's what I was afraid/thinking... more for myself then !:D
Coz the LB seems sweeeet, but it doesn't work with a candle, and I'm not sure the two batteries could last me one night of partying, and the box looks like it is not suited for an air dirty environment like a quarry could be (that's why I don't bring my Iolite down there)

I doubt you would melt the metal before you hit the vaping temp on the thermometer. Wikipedia puts the aluminum melting point at 1220.58 F , it's also considered a good thernal conductor. So chances are you would ignite the wood way before the heating block ever started to melt ;) I'd just be extra carefull to point the flame away from the wood body.

Raf- It seems like either the LB or this one would be your best bet for your situation. The vapor genie is too hard to teach people how to use- it has a learning curve. The Launchbox is amazingly easy to use and works well for passing around to people- BUT you've gotta make sure you take the battery out after hitting it, which seems like it might be a problem with drunk people. Also- The launchbox will run just as well in strange environments (dusty and such) if not BETTER than the supreme just because its running off of electricity and not pressurized gas (ergo- altitude can fuck with your lighter, but not a battery)

The supreme vaporizer looks pretty awesome- and seems like it would be just as easy to use as the launchbox- except I could see drunk people accidentally torching the wood- or themselves- or somebody else- also... the launchbox is an instant hitter meaning- once you put the battery in, its ready for a hit (very similar concept for people who usually SMOKE weed) the supreme has a bit of a warm time, which may run contrary to enjoying your drunkness (because you have to be patient, and somewhat attentive)

On the OTHER hand- playing with fire when you're drunk is generally much more fun than when you aren't drunk ( In my research that is )

Word !! Fire is Fun !
Thinking of it, maybe the butane+supreme combo would have be good also... even if I don't like depending on a can.... in the catacombs almost everyone has a lighter I could borrow from if needed.
For the LB how long does the battery last ??
Coz when I'm under, it's for like 6hrs when not 10 (some time more, there is no limit to fun). And, believe me,some time we spend a lot of that time smoking and drinking, so I'm afraid the LB battery won't last long.... especially if it's appealing to everyone !
And how strong is the cover part ? Could you just put the LB in your pocket and crawl on an unheaven ground ? ;)
How about the Supreme ?

And are you positive that no dust can get in the heat generator for the LB?

LB isn't good for extended sessions, I do 1 battery per bowl, with the possbility of getting 2 bowls to a battery (but that's stretching it).

The LB is quite strong for it's weight (it's EXTREMELY light), say if you dropped it that's usually no problem... but it's NOT strong in general under other weight, I personally wouldn't want to be crawling on it.

ok, thx, that's what I was expecting for the battery. TOO short ! I use at least 1g when not 2 in the night. And that's only me...

And how fast does the supreme cool down enough so u can unpack and reload ?

yeah, maybe it's a good solution too.
But it's only 16 bowls or up, not much if I share the machine.... and there is no electricity down there. :)
Well right know I have the VG and I now how I want to spend my next 200, VHW or EQ/SSV. Even if the LB and the supreme are giving me some eye for a while now.
But I think that ultimately, to be happy, one would need, a supreme, a LB, an Iolite, a VG, a bag vapo, a whip one, and a wand... and maybe the aromed to read & vape with one light... :brow:

Gimme til monday & Ill do a weekend review of it. So far my only gripe is how long it takes to heat up with the crappy torches I have & how fast it drops temp if you dont take it to like 320F

Ok...Question here....What temps do you guys go to??? I know that the instructions were written with TOBACCO in mind. Obviously,we're NOT using tobacco in ours so what temps do you heat to for those BIG ,THICK rips??? I got up to 343F last night and made magic happen... :ko:
