@hiphiphooray Technically, the Q3 unit is identical to Q2, temperature range is enlarged and maximum temperature is higher than previous units. User report that there is plenty of heat and generally do not need to run the unit at maximum. Substrate color and thus heating is very uniform in our test and as reported by users.

We are not sure how and in what way to go about modifing the unit. We are of course wellcoming any suggestions to make unit better. Experiments operated lately with inlet ports are very interesting in that sense.

The vapour quality issue stems is part from the lowering down of temperature of Q2 in the mist of the production run. This modification to accomodate people who desired lower temperatures did in fact lower maximum temperature and at that point effectively modified vapour production.

To repeat the experience of the Q2, turn unit at maximum temperature, wait for it to reach temperature and have your first inhalation. Then lower down temperature to 7 or 6.

a good suggestion imo is to fix the overlaping of the heater by the capsule...i pushed my screen a bit inside at the point where the heater starts cause i found out that there is no way u can vaporize properly quantities smaller than 0.2g in the xp...

the technique with max temp then low it to 6 is indeed working and i am using it daily...

also inhalater answer please if there is some possibility we could send back units for upgrade...especially units that are not flawless...

After cover both of the holes on the Inhalater, I have come to realize that there isn't too much of a difference in the vapor production. If I draw very slowly, with both holes covered, I can get some clouds, but the time taken to generate this thick vapor is counter productive in my opinion (since clouds are better because they get you medicated faster).

I have found that the fuller the capsule, the better the vapor production throughout. I believe this is due to how close it is to the heating element. Perhaps pushing the screen in like suggested will produce thicker vapor.

@VapeNStone, i'm not sure if i agree with that. The unit does work, its just there is a larger airflow. Thicker vapor to air ratio would be nice though.

I picked up an Inhalater XP through ebay.ca, received it on October 16th.

My initial experience on day one was great, very pleasant, the temperature control worked great. It's nice, compact and discrete and I was very happy with my purchase. I also picked up a water pipe adapter through planetvape.ca and found it worked quite well.

Unfortunately, after a couple of days of light use the charger on the Inhalater started being problematic. The micro usb on the device became very loose and it quickly became very difficult to get it to charge. Now, after less than a week and only getting to use it a handful of times the micro usb charger on the device is so loose I can't even get it to charge anymore.

I've emailed Inhalater and will keep you posted on developments. I'm really hoping this isn't a common experience as I was really impressed by how well it worked and was hoping to have it become my go to vape.

serial number on the unit? Since it was received on 10/16, it sounds like a Q3 unit. Lets hope that isnt the case, as apparently the Q3 units no longer have that problem... :(

Interesting... Sorry about your troubles man, I hope Inhalater lives up to their new statements and will be able to provide a quick turn around time your ur unit repair. I haven't had any problems with mine, but I have also been extremely careful plugging it in and unplugging it. (I work alot with microcontrollers so I know how fragile a soldered USB can be.)

Is the usb loose, as in pushed in from the outside molding? Or is it loose as in disconnected from the circuit inside? I suggest taking your unit apart slowly and carefully and posting a picture here for inhalater to work with. Seemed to work well with another person earlier.

The micro usb on the device is pushed in from the outside molding, and is visibly physically loose inside the unit. I'm not sure if it is disconnected from the circuit...

Not sure how comfortable I'd be taking the unit apart. I guess I'll wait to hear back from @Inhalater and see what they recommend.

Thanks!

ragecdn,
I feel like lately my XP's ability to charge has just tanked. I leave it plugged in for for long periods of time and it never reaches full. And when I try to use it while its low power and on usb it doesn't let me. I'll let it sit for an hour or so before I use it and it still dies after twoish hits. Its supposed to at least charge faster than it takes the charge from usage :/

I feel for you as this is exactly what happened to my unit....you will need to contact admin@inhalater.com if you already haven't....and when you receive your replacement we must take extra care when cycling it on and off....I'm sure the switch itself has a torque specification as to how much it can withstand... but the USB receiving port on a circuit board does not....I was hoping we wouldn't hear about this issue with the new notched bodies.....I wonder did your USB port look ugly and melted looking or was it clean cut.?

Again I feel for you and not sure if you guys are being answered via email from Greg, but knowing how busy they are and also knowing how frustrating it is when they stop working and you need answers....
Yea this is exactly what happened to my gf's unit....I exchanged a few emails with Greg back then and there was a very slim chance something was going on with the battery {rusted connection, bad, etc} but it is most likely in the charger ICU, so you too will need to send them an email and wait for your replacement.....
I am very curious though....was yours an older Q2 maybe or did you get a more recent unit....? cause again I for one was hoping to not hear anymore reports of the charger just simply fading away like that.

The USB thing was IMO visible in the forecast.....but the ICU issue I'd hoped was a done deal....

Edit: Cool I just did a quick search and see that you got your unit back in Mar so you may have had a Q2....so we are likely good on the ICU issue

@Old School, I agree. I hope these issues are not still around for the Q3 units. Although @ragecdn seems to have a Q3 issue, although I am confused by his serial number.

Personally, I have a janky USB from the earliest Q3, and it hasn't seen virtually any wear. The fit is extremely tight, as is with most new micro USB imports, which means that if one was not excessively careful, they could easily place a large amount of strain on the molding that holds it in place. Most of this probably comes from users pulling the cord out by just tugging on it instead of slowly pulling it away from the unit.

I really wish we didn't have to be this careful with them, but I guess its always good to treat an expensive device as an expensive device. I can justify taking an extra few seconds plugging it in since that is much better than waiting months on a replacement.

Seeking My Shangri-La
I think everyone's idea of 'best in class' is really subjective. Two of my friends who are INH owners tried my Pinnacle Pro this weekend (with phenominal grade herb) and were blown away by the difference in build quality, vapor quality and portablility over the INH. They both ordered the PNP yesterday. In their opinion, it is 'best in class'...at least for what they have tried. Personally, my Solo is the 'best in class' for me.

I think some feel they have to call their recent purchase 'the best' in order to justify the cost and make them feel better about what they spent. That goes for any vaporizer, not just the INH. Like many defending the Ascent when it was still a piece of crap.

In this age of instant gratification, many will not have the patience to return an item they don't like so that they can purchase another. They need something in their hand RIGHT NOW!

I'll hold out for quality every time. When I am confident the INH falls into that category, I'll be an owner.

I sincerely hope the new INH ends up being great after all the kinks have been worked out.

I second everything Meghan said. Excellent little unit that exceeded my expectations. They did have an issue with their mouthpieces/PonGs but got it all squared away quickly. Exceptional service.

Damn...wasn't paying attention and posted two in a row...sorry again, Admins. *sigh*

mod note: At least you noticed. For your penance send me 4 grams of your best strain. Two posts merged.
@mod:

Ha! I like the way you think :spliff:

@Old School

I hope you enjoy yours as much as I enjoy mine.

Maybe I should have done a bit more research before purchasing one. I wasn't aware they had to be handled with such care when plugging/unplugging the usb, but I wouldn't really say I mistreated it in any way.. I didn't really have time to.

Having said that, I'll definitely be taking extra special care and precautions if/when @Inhalater comes through with a timely replacement. I really enjoyed the experience, and would love for it to work.

Yeah, I'm not sure if you need to as gentle as I described, but having heard the problems I have just decided I might as well take the precaution. Not sure why @Inhalater hasn't responded yet. I am hoping this issue does not apply to all Q3 models. :(

Has anyone compared the method of using Q3 at max temp then lowering to 6 to that of a Q2 unit?

There is no particulars about USB port on Q3. It may still become deffective: we will honor the warranty.

@Inhalater, hey when is a tool coming out for the chamber screen removal.. Id like to give it a try lol. I've tried using a bent paper clip but the screen wouldn't budge. I heard using a PIN works but do I bend that a little bit to hook the screen or something? Just having a hard time cause it seems like its really gunked up and stuck down there.

So far I've only been wiping the chamber down with a tiny bit of iso and scraping the bottom screen with plastic straw or wooden pick.. but I want to fully replace the screen.
